Story
Benny is an oh so darn cute pup born around April of 2023. We think he is a Pitt/Border Collie mix. Look at those markings! He has black and white complete with speckles. Such a striking looking boy! We love the way one eye has a black patch and the other has a white. He's the ying and yang of dogs. Benny is a nice size, 40 lbs. He's muscular and well formed, a healthy boy. He has a playful attitude and likes other dogs. He has good dog skills and not a mean bone in his body. He's happy go lucky and always ready for some fun. His favorite playmate is a Husky who has his energy level and strength. He lives with older, smaller dogs too and is fine to leave them alone when they don't want to play. Benny lives at a pet hotel and meets new dogs regularly. We can see the Border Collie in Benny in the focused way he chases his toys. He gets low to the ground with intense focus to retrieve the toy. He is ecstatic when gets the toy and brings it back to his foster mom. He prances around the yard with utter joy and satisfaction. His toy and food motivation allows his foster mom to exercise him properly without having to run a marathon. His foster mom is no spring chicken; jogging is out of the question for her. Benny is very athletic and strong. He needs an experienced owner who enforces rules with consistency and kindness. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. We don't recommend Benny to a family with small children; he is too strong and too much of a puppy still. While Benny is excellent in his crate and has never had an accident, he would not be happy in a home where he spends the better part of a day in his crate. He needs activity, both mind and body. Benny came to us with zero manners! He was dumped on a windy country road after the local shelter explained to his owner that they didn't have room for him. It's clear that his human was heartless and didn't spend any time with Benny teaching him to be a good boy. That's alright, his foster mom is teaching him how to live in the human world. Fortunately, Benny is eager to learn and eager to please. This is going to be a stellar boy. Benny learns quickly and already knows the following: sit, wait, toy, go night night, off, AH-AH, watch me, ok. Here are the Pros and Cons of Benny in a nut shell: Pros: Good disposition, happy boy Loves to fetch, play with toys (learning to drop it) Smart Eager to please Eager to learn Loves people and other dogs Crate trained-never had an accident Energetic Loving Very healthy Low shed NO smell (like the Mr Clean Magic Eraser- dirt on paws become clean without bathing! Like magic!) Cons: Puppy brain Doesn't know how strong he is Mouthy Doesn't understand the human world- yet Loves to chew- anything and everything Easily excited **Adoption fee $175 includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
Rucker’s story is one of incredible resilience. At just 1.5 years old, this sweet Bully mix has already faced more than his share of hardship — he came to us as a stray after being shot for eating chickens as a roaming stray. As a result, Rucker had to have a front leg amputated… but don’t feel sorry for him, this boy is unstoppable.  Now fully healed and thriving, Rucker is all about love, play, and second chances. He’s incredibly dog friendly and loves to romp around with his four-legged buddies, though plays rough/rowdy. (Sorry — no chickens or cats for this guy!) He’s also has the affectionate, people-loving personality that makes him an instant favorite wherever he goes. Rucker is fully crate trained and house trained, with excellent house manners. He even sits patiently and waits for you to clip on his leash before heading outside. And don’t think for a second that having three legs slows him down. Rucker tackles stairs with ease, leaps onto the couch for cuddles, and has discovered a deep love for lake life. He’s currently being fostered lakeside and lives for swimming and splashing around. Cuddly, confident, and incredibly sweet, Rucker doesn’t know a stranger and is always ready to make a new friend — human or dog. His past may be rough, but his future is nothing but bright. Story
Toby is a 2-year-old American Bully who tips the scales at a solid 60 pounds of pure love. Toby is both house and crate trained, and though big and strong, he’s as well-mannered as they come.Hop in the car with him, and you’ll see just how much he loves a good road trip—he rides like a pro! Toby is the kind of dog who makes friends everywhere he goes, greeting new people with a wagging tail or calmly minding his own business. Give him a toy, and he’ll be in heaven.Toby’s journey hasn’t been smooth sailing and happy endings—he was abandoned not once, but twice. First at the zoo in Baltimore, and then again when someone tied him to a table at a Baltimore fire station and walked away. But even through all of that, Toby has remained the BEST boy. The firefighters who found him fell in love with his sweet spirit and reached out for help to get him the forever home he deserves. If you love Bullies, Toby is your man.Adoption Application: www.jasperslegacy.org/apply-to-adopt************************Toby is located in a foster home. Story
Meet Beckham, your future best friend! This incredible 2-year-old pup was saved from the brink of euthanasia at the county shelter, and now he's ready to find his forever home. Weighing in at about 60lbs, this charming boy is not just a survivor; he's a playful, confident companion who thrives on human interaction. Beckham is crate trained and gets along famously with other dogs. He walks well on a leash with no pull unless he sees another dog, which then he just indicates he wants to play! His foster has been working on getting him to yield to her space while walking and he is doing famously. His intelligence is constantly shining through as he is quick to learn new boundaries and commands. He is a very trainable dog! There are many times he has anticipated what his foster mom is about to ask of him and demonstrates it before she can even ask. There's nothing more than Beckham loves than snuggling up with his favorite humans. He desperately wants to be by your side or lying at your feet. He is still learning to settle in the house and not be nervous, but tethering him to a stationary object like a closed door is helping him tremendously. If you're looking for a loyal friend to brighten your life, Beckham is ready to fill that role. Let's help him find the loving family he deserves. ************************************ Beckham is located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters.
