Story
Meet Daisey! This sweet girl has been through so much in her short life. We think she is young, maybe 1-3 years old, and only 35 pounds. She probably has some Staffordshire terrier and lab as well as super mutt mixed in her. Daisey is a kind and gentle soul. She will allow love and pets, is not fazed by other animals, is gentle with children and has come a long way with leash manners. Sadly, it seems she may not have had the best past with human interaction. She sticks true to the den animal instincts that many dogs can be known for. She prefers her own quiet space so that she can curl up comfortably and feel safe and relaxed. She is not one for running with the other dogs or playing catch with a child, but she definitely does not mind having either around. Daisey is looking for a family that understands she will need lots of time to acclimate to a new environment before she starts to come out of her shell. Daisey came from a local shelter just days after she had a litter of 12 puppies! She was young, terrified and seemingly a first-time mom. She and her puppies were in very poor health. After medicine, time and love they were all nursed back to health. Now that she has had time to learn what kindness from a human looks like, and all of her puppies have been adopted, Daisey is ready for her forever. Interested in becoming a forever home for Daisey? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Daisey. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Daisey the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Meet Rufus Lucas! This sweet boy is as smart as he is handsome. He is about one and a half years old and weighs about 65 pounds. We aren’t exactly sure what breed mix he is, we think maybe a shepherd and some pit bull terrier, but do we know he’s super cute! He does great on a leash and knows some basic commands like sit, crate, and he knows how to shake your hand! He loves all other doggy and human friends of all ages, but would do best in a cat free home. Rufus has been selected for a special Grant program that covers a large portion of her adoption fee. This Grant is only for qualified adopters after an application is fully approved! Interested in becoming a forever home for Rufus? Story
Meet Lola Danforth! Such a sweet young lady. Lola is a nearly 7-month-old supermutt mix! We aren’t sure what is in her breed mix, but she seems to be pretty large for a puppy and we think she has some mastiff in her as well as pitbull terrier or american staffordshire terrier! She is currently about 55 pounds and could possibly grow close to 100 pounds. She is perfectly crate trained and will use Potty Pads if needed. She is also working on her leash training. She has been raised around dogs, and children, she will probably be fine with Cats as well, but has not been around them. Lola and her brother were found on the side of a busy rural road by her foster mom, they are lucky to be alive! Lola is ready to go to her forever home! Please put in an application as soon as possible, if you are interested in adopting Lola, she is waiting for you. Story
Meet Fitz! He is 3 years old and 70 pounds. He came to us when he was only 5 weeks old and was witness being attacked by a much larger dog. He suffered a skull fracture as a result of the attack but fully recovered! He is neutered, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped! Fitz is your typical dog. He has no lasting effects from his attack and loves life and everything it has to offer. Fitz LOVES playing with his foster siblings and would love to have an active home to keep him entertained. Fitz also attends doggy daycare and absolutely loves going to play with all the other doggos! He also lives with cats and does just fine with them. Fitz is house and kennel trained. Fitz loves little kids and is great with them. He has lived his life with females, so he will take a little extra time to warm up to males in the home, but given patience and understanding he will be a quick sell! He encounters men at daycare and does great with them. Since he’s been in a foster home for so long, Fitz will need a patient adopter that understands he will need a little time to acclimate to his new surroundings – he just may be a little unsure at first. He also moonlights as a doggie model and will happily let you dress him up. He knows he looks good! Attending daycare has kept Fitz very socialized around other dogs, so he really hasn’t ever met a 4 legged stranger. He is a super happy go lucky boy that just wants to swim and play and have a good time. Fitz has been in foster care far too long and we would like nothing better for him to get his happily ever after! Story
She’s always smiling and she has the cutest, ever so slight underbite that you will ever see. Meet Maeve! She is a happy 2 year old, 45 lbs girl ready for a home of her own! Maeve is all spunk and energy! She will play fetch for hours, and we mean literally hours. And if you aren’t throwing the ball for her, she will prance around the yard for hours showing her foster siblings her pretty ball she is carrying. She a little bundle of muscle that never tires out. She would make a great walking or running buddy and is a pro at running on the treadmill in her foster home! She also LOVES doing puzzles! These are two simple activities that may take 30 minutes a day for an owner to do with her and get that edge of energy out. While being a high-energy gal, Maeve listens really well and just wants to please her human by following direction. Next to playing fetch, Maeve’s second love is chewing on bones. She also likes to play in the water! Maeve lives with foster siblings of all sizes and ages and does well with everyone1 However, because of Maeve’s energy level, some other dogs take a minute to get used to her – Maeve knows no boundaries and thinks everyone is ready to run the second she meets them. Taking your time with introductions and supervising introductions early on is the best approach and in no time everyone is best friends. She would be best in a cat free home as she does find them interesting and would likely want to play a little too rough. Due to her energy level, Maeve should not go to a home with young children because she will definitely knock them down and push her limit with them. Maeve is house and kennel trained. She may pull on a leash, but it’s just from excitement and overall does well on walks. She loves her kennel and will need to go to a home committed to continuing her kennel training. She is a dream in the car! Maeve hasn’t had the easiest start to life, and is just the sweetest, spunkiest girl - she deserves a FOREVER family that understands that and appreciates it! She will repay her family in loyalty and gratefulness that only a rescue dog knows and understands You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.com/adoption-application Maeve is spayed, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped!

Story
Meet Mocha Joe (aka Jojo), the Life of the Paw-ty! ??? This handsome, mocha-brown boy is looking for his forever family! At around 1 year old and 103 lbs, Jojo is a big boy with an even bigger personality. Here's what makes him so special: - Playful & Curious: Jojo loves tug-of-war, chasing lasers, and exploring new things. He’ll keep you entertained with his silly antics (like army crawling under the coffee table!). - Velvet Soft: His luxurious, mocha-brown coat is as soft as it gets—perfect for snuggles. - Sassy Talker: Jojo isn’t shy about sharing his opinions—he’ll “talk back” if he feels left out! - Loves Water: From kiddie pools to fountains, Jojo is a total water baby and would make a great swimming buddy. - Active Companion: He’s a big fan of walks and would be an excellent running partner for someone who loves the outdoors. - Adorably Mischievous: He loves to chew, shred, and occasionally bury treats for later. He’ll keep you on your toes but always laughing. - Great with Other Pets: Jojo gets along well with both cats and dogs—he’s a social butterfly who loves making friends! Jojo thrives in an environment where he can get plenty of playtime, affection, and activity. While he’s a bit jealous if someone else gets a treat first (can you blame him?), his loving, goofy nature more than makes up for it. Is your heart (and home) ready for Mocha Joe? If you think Jojo could be your new best friend, reach out today! This sweet, sassy pup is waiting to make your life a little brighter—and a lot more fun.

He has never met a stranger and will come sit right on your lap if you sit on the floor with him. He is smart and picks things up quickly. He is trained to sit, lie down, and give his paw, and he is crate and potty trained; not to mention, he’s pretty amazing at treat puzzles. He has a Saturday tradition of howling at the tornado sirens

Story
Meet Mutt - your future furry best friend! This one-year-old bundle of joy is the perfect addition to any loving home. Weighing in at around 35 lbs, Mutt is the ideal size for cuddles and playtime. Mutt is a well-behaved, house, and kennel-trained pup who's been doing a great job with leash training. He's looking for a forever home with someone who can continue to reinforce his good behavior and continue his leash training journey. This medium-energy marvel is a social butterfly and gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and energy levels. He's a true "pawsome" playmate and would adore having a doggy friend to frolic with. Mutt is no stranger to the dog park, where he thrives while playing with his buddies. However, Mutt's love for feline friends is not as strong, so he's seeking a cat-free home. While he hasn't lived with kids before, he should do just fine in a home with respectful children who understand how to interact with dogs. Mutt is a ton of fun and adores playtime. He's always ready to drag out his toys and engage in a spirited game of tug of war with his furry pals. Don't miss out on the opportunity to give Mutt the loving home he deserves. He's the perfect companion for an active, dog-loving household. Ready to make memories and share adventures with Mutt? Come meet him today and let the good times roll! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Tucker is a fun loving, happy pup!  He’s shy at first but warms up quickly and then he is full of adventure and life!  He has a smile that is contagious. He is crate trained and house broken. He does well on a leash and knows basic commands. He does well riding in the car. Tucker likes being around children, and he is gentle. He is trained to not jump up. He loves other dogs and will play, chase, and wrestle for hours!  He likes to chase cats, but cats don’t seem to like that very much.  Chickens and ducks are just snacks to him, so maybe a home without chickens or a really secure chicken coop would be best. He’s incredibly sweet, loves belly rubs, back scratches, snuggles, and (of course) TREATS!  He’s a good boy who is hoping to find his new best friend. ##1590437##
