OREO’S ADOPTION FEE IS BEING WAIVED IN HOPES WE CAN HELP HIM FIND HIS PERFECT FAMILY. Oreo is a 2 year old boxer/pit mix. He is house trained and crate trained. He is good with all dogs, big and small, and cats. He can be leery of new dogs entering his orbit and will require a SLOW introduction to new dogs. He needs time to decompress to a new home and new dogs. He is usually best friends with them in a very short time but, again, we will require time to decompress before meeting new pets. Oreo’s best friend was recently adopted and he is quite sad. Oreo is strong and will require someone who can handle his strength. He is learning to adjust to a leash, but prefers the open, full speed run. He has visited his foster mom’s office and showed amazing manners while roaming the halls. He loves his people and does believe he is still a small lap dog. He loves kisses and cuddles!! He has bounds of love to share. Oreo is neutered and current on vaccines. Please complete our application if you would like to meet Oreo.

Story
Adopt Mabel! Mabel is 1.5 years old. She is a super smart, sweet girl with the best underbite!! She often gets so excited that her whole body wiggles. She has a lot of love to give and she is a great cuddle bug! She is playful, but also loves laying around and relaxing. Mabel is always very excited to get pets and attention. Mabel is good with basic commands like sit and down but doesn't do as well when she is excited or scared. Mabel is a quiet girl, she rarely barks and is not phased by the doorbell or knocking at the door. She rarely jumps up on people unless she is very excited or scared. Mabel is completely housebroken and will stand near the door when she's ready to go out, and then sits in front of the door and patiently waits to be let in. Mabel is crate trained, she goes in her kennel with the "kennel" or "bed time" commands. Mabel enjoys playing with chew toys and balls, but she is not destructive at all. She does love riding in the car for a little sight seeing. Mabel does well on a leash if you have her on a training collar. She has a small head and a tendency to pull on a leash but the training collar makes walking her a breeze! Mabel has done well in her foster family’s house with children, a cat and another dog. Mabel is in her foster home with another dog but requires a very slow introduction, and they continue to always monitor them when they are together. Mabel could do well with another dog depending on the temperament of the other dog. Mabel is current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick preventative, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $100. If you are interested in meeting or adopting Mabel, please fill out our application.

Tucker is approximately 2 months old. He’s a sweet, loving little soul!  He loves snuggles and cuddles and playing with his sister. He’s not potty or crate trained yet. He is good with other dogs and cats. My cats avoid dogs but he would snuggle with them if they’d let him. This snuggly little squish just wants to be loved…and he’s so lovable! ##1590437##

Sammie is approximately 2 months old. She is good with other dogs and cats. My cats avoid dogs but I think she would play with them if they’d let her. She’s a wonderfully squishy little bundle of smiles! ##1590436##

Story
Hey, my name is Dora.  I am almost four years old and I weigh over fifty pounds.  I came to the rescue after I was found in the woods with a new puppy.  Sadly, I had five but when they found me there had been a lot of rain and only one was alive.  I did my best but there was so much water.  Anyways, I took care of Daisy until she was old enough to leave my side and its time for me to find a home of my own.   I am feel young and playful. I like some other dogs but I will admit a few little yacky ones have bugged me.  Toys are ok and running in the fenced yard is fun.  Please don't misunderstand I want to live in the house with you and just play and potty outside.  I could really benefit from learning more proper manners.  Do you have time to help me learn? I want to love you and have a real home I can call ours.   I have been spay, vaccinated (including influenza) and microchipped.  I am current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives.  My adoption fee is 150.00.  The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for Dora at dogsasfamily.org.  I think a home and family is the best thing ever.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 1, 2023, 4:09 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi, my name is Ko Olina (KoKo for short) and I’m just your typical pittie girl looking for love. I keep getting overlooked at events and I’m starting to worry that no one wants me because I’m a pittie. My story starts when I was kicked out of a vehicle at Lake Hefner with a belt tied around my neck. That mean person sped off and left me to fend for myself, but some nice people saw it happen and made sure I safely got to Bella SPCA. Six months later, I am still here and learning manners with my foster mom. They said I was “shutting down” in the shelter so I needed a foster to help me live up to the meaning of my name “fulfillment of joy”. Now I am a 65lb lap dog and have lots of toys to play with, a yard to fetch my favorite squeaky ball in, and a nice fluffy bed of my own. I love car rides and going places with my foster mom. I am a health nut: I love bananas, blueberries, and I am an excellent running/walking buddy. I stay in my crate like a good girl when my mom goes to work and I sleep in her room on my bed at night. I love to watch tv in my foster mom’s lap and she says I’m a “Velcro dog with boney elbows and no concept of personal space.” I go to the back door to signal that I need to potty outside. If you want to know when those Amazon packages are delivered then I’m your girl: not even the sneakiest delivery person at my house goes undetected! Some nice folks sponsored me for Petsmart training classes and I’ve been learning a lot. I know the commands “sit, stay/wait,” and I’m working on getting better at “place” and “drop”. Oh, and “NO”… I know that one for sure. When mom gets my food ready I sit and wait patiently until she says “go”. UPDATE ON THIS!! I graduated from the Beginner Education on 1/23/2023!! Everyone has quirks and I’m up front about mine: I am people lover and selective of other canines (shouldn’t we all be picky about who we have for friends?!) and I’m not a fan of those little sketchy critters they call “cats”. It would be awesome if I could get all the love and attention for myself from my humans without sharing my spotlight with another pet. I LOVE little humans but since I sometimes jump in excitement (bad habit I am still working on) I might knock tiny ones down accidentally and I would feel terrible if that happened. Anyway, enough about me. Let’s meet up and see if there’s a connection. I have a ton of love to give and I’ve been waiting a long time to find my forever people.
