Story
Brady is a sweet boy who is just a big baby and thinks he’s a small lap dog. He loves sprinklers and hoses but not fond of a bath. He was rescued from a puppy mill and was with a family with small children that just couldn’t give him the life he needs and deserves. We have taken him in since then and it was never our intention to keep him forever. He is crate trained for meals and sleep. He would thrive in a home that has older children middle school and above as he is skittish and can be easily irritated by the behaviors and sounds of small children. He needs a home that is very active and committed to walks/runs. He has sensitive skin and needs a family that has the ability to cater to those needs via special food, baths, vet visits regularly and possible medication for allergies. He is a great addition to the right family! My adoption fee is to ensure someone is serious about giving me a wonderful home and life!

Story
Dump was found... At a dump. He was actually IN a trash compactor. There is very little chance he got into that predicament on his own, and we are so glad he was found before he was hurt. He is approximately 5-years old at intake and came to us very fearful and distrustful of humans, but never aggressive. With the love of his foster mom, he is learning to trust. Dump loves car rides, is learning to walk on a leash, and loves treats and takes them gently. He has so much love to give to the right person. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $290 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.

Story
London was pulled into rescue from a shelter to treat an umbilical hernia and a life-threatening infection called pyometra, which was resolved with an emergency spay. She is nervous and shy in social situations, but is comfortable and shows her delightful spirit in a home setting. She currently lives in a foster home with kids, dogs, and cats. Her superpower is playing tug with her foster sisters all day. She is crate trained and house broken. She can be a bit possessive with her food around other dogs so should be fed separately. She is fine around people with food and takes treats gently. London is full-grown at about 30 pounds. One of her quirks is that her eyes are different shades of brown! She would love a Family to match her high energy and who has fenced yard in which to run her zoomies! She currently lives in a foster home with kids, cats and dogs. EST DOB March 2024. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. Story
UPDATE: Oliver has conquered his skin issues and is sporting a shiny new black and white coat! He listens well and is pretty-much potty-trained. He's enjoying being a typical little brother to his fur-siblings and loves to cuddle! Oliver loves meeting new people and dogs and takes only a couple of days to start adjusting to new situations. He is eager to please and is very trainable! He met his first kitten recently and was VERY interested in playing, but he would probably respect boundaries set by a dominant cat. He loves kids and does well at public/social events! He sleeps obediently and quietly in his crate all night and loves (destroying) stuffie toys! Oliver is a small pitty mix who was pulled from a rural shelter after he was picked up as a stray. His fosters think he is mixed with something small, but we have no idea what! HISTORY: This from his foster dad: Meet Oliver—our fun-sized “pit-ish” pup who’s proof that good things come in slightly itchy packages. Yes, he’s rocking a touch of puppy mange right now, but LowCountry Animal Rescue has him on the glow-up plan and he’s already practicing his “after” photos. When Oliver isn’t busy healing, he’s perfecting two talents: (1) burrowing under your covers like a canine cinnamon roll and (2) accepting standing ovations every time he potties outside (treats, applause, autograph requests—all welcome). He’ll snooze in your bed if you let him, yet slips into his crate like a gentleman when you say “night-night.” This social butterfly lives with five resident dogs and still thinks there’s room for one more playmate—maybe that’s your pup? He’s part cuddle bug, part zoomie machine, 100 % crowd-pleaser, and with a little more potty practice, he’ll graduate from “adorable project” to “family legend.” Swipe right on Oliver and get ready for a lifetime supply of snuggles, wiggles, and tail-wagging encore performances! Story
✨ Meet Lucky! ✨ This handsome 3-year-old boy is fully vetted, neutered, and heartworm negative! 🐾 While we don’t know much about his past, we do know he deserves the very best future 💛 Lucky was surrendered by his previous owner and can be a bit selective, but with the right guidance he’s going to shine! He’s heading to a board & train program this December to work on some training and set him up for lifelong success. We’re aiming to raise $2,000 to cover his training so Lucky can finally find the loving forever home he’s been waiting for! Every dollar helps us make that possible. 🐶💙 👉 Donate, share, or spread the word to help Lucky get the fresh start he deserves! Apply foster or adopt at: https://dustytailsanimalrescue.org/...

Story
🧡🍂 A Thanksgiving Family We’re So Grateful For 🍂🧡 This Thanksgiving, we’re giving extra thanks for a brave mama named Cindy and her sweet little family. When Cindy arrived at our rural shelter partner, she was so terrified she couldn’t even walk — staff had to carry her outside because she was too scared to move. But even through that fear, she never left her babies’ side. 💛🐾 Today, thanks to an incredible foster, this shy, gentle girl is finally learning she’s safe. Her puppies — now 4/5 weeks old — are healthy, social, playful, and will be ready for forever homes in just a few short weeks. Cindy will begin heartworm treatment and be ready for adoption soon after. Most of all, we want to say how thankful we are for our fosters, volunteers, supporters, and adopters — the people who make rescues like this possible. This family along hundreds of other pups and families just like this have been saved thanks to our amazing fosters, volunteers, and supporters. We are so thankful to be a part of such an incredible community because without each and every person this couldn’t be possible! 🧡✨ Happy Thanksgiving from Cindy and her babies — we’re so grateful for our rescue family. #adopt #adoptdontshop❤️ #adoptme #rescue #rescuepuppiesofinstagram #rescuedog #rescuedoglove #foster #fosteringsaveslives❤️🐶 #dustytailsanimalrescue #dustytails #charleston #charlestonsc
