🧡🍂 A Thanksgiving Family We’re So Grateful For 🍂🧡 This Thanksgiving, we’re giving extra thanks for a brave mama named Cindy and her sweet little family. When Cindy arrived at our rural shelter partner, she was so terrified she couldn’t even walk — staff had to carry her outside because she was too scared to move. But even through that fear, she never left her babies’ side. 💛🐾 Today, thanks to an incredible foster, this shy, gentle girl is finally learning she’s safe. Her puppies — now 4/5 weeks old — are healthy, social, playful, and will be ready for forever homes in just a few short weeks. Cindy will begin heartworm treatment and be ready for adoption soon after. Most of all, we want to say how thankful we are for our fosters, volunteers, supporters, and adopters — the people who make rescues like this possible. This family along hundreds of other pups and families just like this have been saved thanks to our amazing fosters, volunteers, and supporters. I have had melly since she was a puppy. She got hurt several times when she was a puppy and persevered thru it beautifully so my thought in naming her was she was sweet n tough so I thought about Carmel and got the name melly. I hate to even have to get rid of her but I am a mother of six and we have went thru a lot of change with moving and other things so having the finances or the time to take care of her has been very challenging and she deserves so much better. She is a very good dog she is potty trained knows how to sit and stay and go to bed when directedand comes when she is called. She has been raised around my 6 children and is very gentle towards them. She is a very good watch dog but also knows when to stop barking when directed.it has been a joy to have her as my pet and I would just love to be able to find her a home where she can run and play and be loved.

She is a super-sweet 10 year old gal and is a big ball of happy! She rolls over for tummy rubs from everyone she meets and loves people and dogs of all ages! Marnie brings a smile to everyone she meets! She would just love a retirement home with lots of people, especially kids, to pamper her and give endless belly rubs! If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $290 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Meet Councilman Jamm (CJ) ♥️🐾 CJ is quite literally the sweetest man in town. Many of you will remember him—he was with us for quite a while before finally finding his home. Sadly, CJ is being returned through no fault of his own. He struggles with thunderstorms and his family realized they weren’t the right fit to help him work through those fears. CJ’s story is a hard one to swallow. He originally came to the shelter after being saved from a hoarding/neglect case where 36 dogs were rescued from unthinkable conditions. Because of the ongoing court case, CJ had to remain at the shelter for several weeks. During that time, he put on much-needed weight and finally received the medical care he had been lacking his entire life. Many of you may remember seeing him on our stories—shaking and vibrating in his kennel from sheer fear of simply existing there. When he was finally released, we were able to pull this sweet land hippo to safety, and we promised him that his best days were still ahead. Despite all he’s been through, CJ holds nothing of his past against him. He can be a little nervous in new settings, but once he feels safe, his whole personality shines—his tail starts wagging, and he begs for pets with the sweetest smile. CJ is wonderful with other dogs, loves kids, and is the biggest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet. While he may need some patience and understanding in stormy weather, he is otherwise the perfect gentleman—gentle, loyal, and full of love to give. She came to us from one of our rural shelter partners after being surrendered by her owner along with three other dogs who lived on the same property. For the first two years of her life, Princess knew only the outdoors—no soft beds, no warm homes, and no gentle, loving hands. Despite her rough start, Princess’s heart is nothing but gold. She went into foster care and quickly showed just how loving, gentle, and trusting she can be once she feels safe. We truly believed she had found her forever family, but sadly, things didn’t work out. Through no fault of her own, Princess has found herself back with us, patiently waiting for someone to choose her again. Princess Poot is fantastic with other dogs, incredible with people, and has a calm, easygoing soul that makes her such a joy to be around. She loves companionship and thrives on affection. Like many bulldogs, she does have a bit of a stubborn streak—but it’s paired with so much sweetness and personality that you can’t help but smile. She is up to date on all of her vaccines and will be spayed in February. Princess is more than ready to leave her past behind and start the life she’s always deserved—one with love, stability, and a family who will cherish her forever.
