This 8-month-old female Pit Bull may have had a rough start, but she's determined to find a loving and patient home to call her own. Leza and the many other dogs on the property were surrendered to our shelter when their previous owner could no longer care for them properly. But this sweet pup hasn't let her past hold her back. With her adorable smile and curious personality, she's ready to take on the world! Leza is an active and energetic girl who loves to play and explore. She's a constant companion and will make the perfect best friend for someone who's willing to put in the time and effort to work with her. Leza does well with other dogs and kids, but she may need a companion animal to help her feel more comfortable in her new home. She's still learning how to walk on a leash and needs some guidance on household routines, especially potty training. Earlier this year, Baby Girl gave birth to 16 puppies — but because her previous owner failed to feed her, she couldn’t produce enough milk to keep them alive. Ten puppies tragically passed away from starvation, and the remaining six were rescued by a humane society. Baby Girl, heartbreakingly, was left behind. But her story didn’t end there. A caring Good Samaritan alerted us, and we were able to convince the owner to surrender her. Miesha is a spunky 10-month-old spayed female Pit Bull/Retriever mix with a strong personality and a whole lot of love to give! Born on December 23, 2025, Miesha is the natural leader of her litter—she’s opinionated, bold, and always knows what she wants…which is usually kisses and attention! She came to us from a high-kill shelter in Southwest Virginia along with her mom Mia and siblings. Since arriving, she’s made it clear she’s the boss—but don’t worry, she’s also a total sweetheart once she gets her cuddles in. Miesha was adopted back in May. After living in her home for 5 months, unfortunately she was surrendered back to the rescue. In her previous home she lived with a young child, a cat, and a bearded dragon. She is crate trained and also had a fenced in yard to run around in. Her previous owner had three complaints, Miesha still has puppy energy and can be nippy, especially with the young child. Miesha would chase the cat and towards the end Miesha seemed to have reverted back on potty training and was having accidents in her crate at night. Miesha is spayed, on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and fully vaccinated (Rabies, Distemper, Lepto, and Bordetella).
