Story
Hello, I'm Noelle. I'm a sweet, friendly, and gentle soul. I'm mellow most of the time, but I can be brave when it's needed. I'm pretty smart, too. I love cuddles, and I'm fiercely loyal. My favorite place in the world is right by my human's side. I'm a great companion, and I promise to make your days brighter. I'm not just a pet, I'm a friend, a confidante, a source of joy. I'm here, waiting for my forever home. Will you be the one to give it to me? Adopt me, and I promise to be the best friend you've ever had. This pet is eligible for the PETS FOR PATRIOTS adoption program. Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, her adoption fee is being sponsored by a generous donor! ##2257339##

Hello, I'm Grell, your future best friend. I'm as sweet as honey, and my loyalty knows no bounds. I'm smart too, I can fetch like a champ! You should see me with my toys, I'm unbeatable. Now, about my past, it's quite magical. I used to live in a kingdom of dogs, where I was a knight, protecting my fellow canines with my toy sword. One day, a magical portal opened, and I ended up here. I believe it was fate, guiding me to my forever family. I'm waiting for you, ready to fill your life with joy, love, and a lot of fetch games! Story
This is Gibbs and he is a foster fail that we have had for 3years. We are rehoming due to a job and location change. He is wonderful with my son and children. He is protective but will only growl and cause alert but has never bitten. He’s a great house pet as he doesn’t bark at horns, doorbells ect. He is extremely socialized as he has been to everything from a 5k run, farmers markets, baseball games, parades ect. Well trained can be let out and doesn’t run away. Listens when recalled and is great on a leash or shock collar. I do use special food for him pro plan salmon to keep his coat nice and shiny. I do feed him twice a day and keep him away from the cats while eating. He gets a little protective of food but not towards humans. He is a cuddler and loves to lay on you but will go to his bed when asked. Comes with everything you will need. Food, collars, beds, leash. please if you see this surrender day is 6/13 and I will do anything to see him in a happy loving home.

Story
Bunny B is an almost 6-year-old, 70-pound girl with a strong presence and a thoughtful heart. She came to the shelter after being seized and surrendered along with many other dogs due to improper care, a situation that asked far too much of her and shaped the way she approaches the world today. Because of that past, Bunny B is observant and selective with her trust. She takes time to warm up to new people and situations and does best when allowed to move at her own pace. She is not chaotic or unpredictable — she simply needs clarity, consistency, and respect. Once she feels secure, Bunny B is affectionate, loyal, and deeply connected to her people. She enjoys being involved in daily routines and wants to feel like part of a stable, dependable home. Bunny B thrives in an active but low-key environment where expectations are clear and her boundaries are understood. She can be selective with other dogs and will need slow, thoughtful introductions. Based on what we’ve observed, a home without cats will be the best fit for her. Bunny B is a powerful, intelligent dog with a sensitive heart. She is looking for adopters who understand that trust is built through patience and kept through consistency. For the right home, Bunny B will be a deeply rewarding companion — steady, loyal, and all heart. Bunny B is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines, including rabies. She’s also been dewormed and started on flea/tick prevention. To apply for adoption or foster, please copy and paste the following link: https://orangecountyva.gov/158/Animal-Shelter

Story
Seamus is about 2 years old, weighs roughly 70 lbs, and is a Pit Bull mix with a solid adult build and a personality that still leans toward goofy puppy. He’s expressive, affectionate, and happiest when he’s close to his people. Seamus originally came to the shelter as a stray. He was adopted, but it was confirmed in his previous home that living with children was not a good fit for him. The energy, movement, and unpredictability of young kids caused him significant stress, and he was unable to comfortably settle in that environment. Because of this, Seamus will only be placed in an adult-only home. Homes with young children are not appropriate for him. In the right setting — calm, structured, and predictable — Seamus bonds deeply. He enjoys activity and play, then happily decompresses near his people. He thrives with clear boundaries and confident handling. He has done well with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. Cats are still unknown and would require careful introduction. At his core, Seamus is a people-focused dog who wants connection and consistency. He’s looking for an adult home that understands his need for stability and can give him the environment where he can truly relax. Seamus is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, started on monthly preventatives, dewormed, and current on all vaccines. Story
Rambo is a sweet, lovable 1ish year old-Pit Bull mix weighing around 83.5 pounds — a big puppy still figuring out how to use his body. He came to the shelter as a stray, and although an owner was located, no one ever came for him. Rambo is now ready for a fresh start with a family who sees him for the good boy he is. True to his age, Rambo is an overgrown puppy in an adult-sized body. He’s strong, enthusiastic, and full of affection, with a tail that never seems to stop wagging. Once he gets going, he cannot control the wiggle, and it’s impossible not to smile around him. Rambo is affectionate and people-loving and will benefit from a decompression period as he transitions into home life. He’s still learning household routines and manners, but he keeps his kennel tidy and shows a lot of promise with structure and consistency. He has done well with most other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. Rambo has shown no real interest in the cat room, though as with any introductions, slow and appropriate introductions are recommended. Rambo is looking for a home that understands big, young dogs — one that can provide guidance, routine, and patience while he grows into the confident, well-mannered companion he’s meant to be. Rambo has been neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested. He is current on vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is on flea and tick prevention.
