Story
Hello, I'm Noelle. I'm a sweet, friendly, and gentle soul. I'm mellow most of the time, but I can be brave when it's needed. I'm pretty smart, too. I love cuddles, and I'm fiercely loyal. My favorite place in the world is right by my human's side. I'm a great companion, and I promise to make your days brighter. I'm not just a pet, I'm a friend, a confidante, a source of joy. I'm here, waiting for my forever home. Will you be the one to give it to me? Adopt me, and I promise to be the best friend you've ever had. This pet is eligible for the PETS FOR PATRIOTS adoption program. Adoption Process If you are ready to meet the pet, please fill out an online adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your internet browser: https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/10666/generic Once your application is submitted, we will contact the vet reference provided. If you do not yet have a vet, please provide three personal references – these could be family and friends who can attest to your pet parenting skills. A volunteer will schedule a phone interview with you. The interview and application help our fosters find their forever home by ensuring a good match.   The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.  The application and visit do not oblige you to adopt, but if you’re ready to take the pet home as your furry forever friend, her adoption fee is being sponsored by a generous donor! ##2257339##

Story
Hello, I'm Grell, your future best friend. I'm as sweet as honey, and my loyalty knows no bounds. I'm smart too, I can fetch like a champ! You should see me with my toys, I'm unbeatable. Now, about my past, it's quite magical. I used to live in a kingdom of dogs, where I was a knight, protecting my fellow canines with my toy sword. One day, a magical portal opened, and I ended up here. I believe it was fate, guiding me to my forever family. I'm waiting for you, ready to fill your life with joy, love, and a lot of fetch games! Story
Meet the Candy Crew: Reeses Cup, Mallo Cup, Snickers, Sugar Baby & Baby Ruth! 🍬🐶 These five sweet Boxer/Lab mix pups are about 8.5 weeks old and currently weigh around 6 lbs each. Don’t let their small size fool you—they are packed with playful energy, joyful wiggles, and a whole lot of love to give. Each one is incredibly social, affectionate, and ready to find a forever family that will cherish them. Their story almost ended before it could begin. These babies were on the list at a high-risk shelter after another rescue had to back out at the last minute due to an emergency. That left Reeses Cup (male), Mallo Cup (female), Snickers (female), Sugar Baby (female), and Baby Ruth (female) in immediate danger. But we couldn’t let that be the end of their story—Sunny Bear Rescue stepped in just in time to give them a real shot at life. Now, these candy-sweet pups are safe and searching for homes where they can grow, thrive, and be adored. Whether you’re looking for your next adventure buddy or a cuddle companion, one of these little ones might be the perfect fit. Disclaimer: Without a DNA test, the breed listed is only our best guess based on the animal’s appearance and any information we currently have.
We'll also keep you updated on Baby Ruth's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Meet Bunny B, a spirited 3-year-old Pit Bull. Bunny B was surrendered along with the other dogs on the property when their owner could no longer properly care for them. Bunny B thrives on walks and loves to zoom around the play yard, showcasing her high-spirited nature and zest for life. She’s always up for a new adventure, and a good walk or romp in the yard is her idea of a perfect day. Her playful energy is contagious, and she loves nothing more than being around people, including children, who she adores. She’s the type of dog who will happily greet everyone with a wagging tail and a big smile. While Bunny B is a social butterfly with people, she can be a bit picky with her dog friends. She’s confident and knows what she likes, which means she might not get along with every dog. It’s important for her to find dog buddies who match her playful yet assertive nature, so patience and careful introductions will help her thrive in a multi-dog home. Bunny B is a smart girl who keeps her kennel clean, but she will need some time and patience to decompress in a new environment. As she adjusts to her new home, she’ll need a caregiver who understands the importance of gentle routines and giving her the space to feel comfortable. With the right guidance, Bunny B will quickly adapt and blossom into the loving, fun companion she’s meant to be. Bunny B was previously spayed. She is Microchipped. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. She has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention. Story
Meet Dove, an 18-month-old Pit Bull. Dove may have had a rocky start, as she was surrendered along with many dogs living on the property because her previous owner could not provide the care she needed, but this sweet girl is ready to find her new loving home. While Dove is a little shy at first, she warms up with patience and kindness, and she’s eager to show her affectionate side once she feels comfortable. Dove is an active girl who loves to move, but she’s also calm and respectful in her kennel, always keeping it clean. She’s shown to be good with other dogs, so she could do well in a home with a dog buddy to help her feel more at ease. Dove has also been around children and does great with them, always keeping things gentle and slow. When faced with new situations, Dove takes her time and approaches everything with a steady, thoughtful pace—she’s a girl who likes to take things slow but does so with grace. Though she’s still a bit shy, Dove has a loving, loyal heart, and with the right care and gentle guidance, she’ll make a wonderful companion. She’ll need a family who understands her need for time and patience to adjust, but once she’s comfortable, you’ll be rewarded with a sweet and devoted friend. Dove was previously spayed. She is microchipped. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. She has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention.
