Story
***Out-of-Town Pet*** McLovin is currently in Crosby TX but is available to be transported to his forever home! Allow me to introduce you to McLovin, a charming and spirited pit bull-lab mix who will celebrate his 2nd birthday this coming January. He has a striking pure white coat adorned with tiny black dots at the very tips of his ears, which adds a unique touch to his appearance. More than just a pretty face, McLovin possesses an incredibly sweet disposition and a lively personality that makes him a joy to be around. McLovin's journey began when we rescued his mother from the streets, just one week before she gave birth to a litter of nine adorable puppies. From day one, we have lovingly cared for McLovin, who is the last remaining puppy from his litter. Unlike his siblings, who all found their forever homes through various adoption events hosted by another rescue, McLovin was adopted as a young puppy but sadly returned to us after only a few days. His new adopters felt that he was experiencing depression and insisted it was best to bring him back. However, it's important to understand that this response was completely normal; having spent his whole life in our care, McLovin was simply struggling to adjust to a new environment. In hindsight, it seems that it was fortunate for McLovin that he was returned, as it became clear that his previous adopters did not possess the patience or understanding required for a deaf dog. This handsome and lovable boy is now in search of a dedicated forever home where he can thrive and grow alongside a caring family. Despite his deafness, McLovin is not held back in any way. He is an energetic and playful dog who enjoys frolicking in the yard and exploring his surroundings. He eagerly engages with new friends, both human and canine. McLovin has an impressive eagerness to learn, and he responds enthusiastically to my silent commands communicated through hand signals. He has mastered several tricks, including sitting on command and giving high fives. Although he makes a genuine effort to stay in one spot when asked, his affectionate nature often leads him to seek out cuddles, hugs, and kisses, which is a testament to his loving spirit. Finding McLovin a remarkable and patient forever home is my ultimate goal, as he has so much love to give. If you are interested in bringing this sweet boy into your home and heart, please don't hesitate to reach out for more information or to arrange a meet-and-greet. Thank you for considering giving McLovin the loving family he truly deserves! If you're ready to welcome this sweet, handsome boy into your home, please fill out the form through the link below, and we’ll get back to you promptly. https://form.jotform.com/241765023842152 As part of our adoption process, we are committed to ensuring that this is the perfect match for both you and the animal. Finding your forever best friend is our priority, and we appreciate your trust in us to facilitate this important decision. When introducing other animals in your home, we strongly recommend a thoughtful and gradual approach with all of our rescues. Keep in mind that not all dogs will get along. They have their own preferences, just like people do. The same goes for interactions with children; it's crucial to prevent overwhelming the adopted animal during the first meetings. Take the time you need to assess how they interact. Please be aware that all adoption fees are classified as donations to support our mission and organization. If the dog is returned for any reason, the donation will not be refunded, as we will incur costs for their transportation back to us. Thank you for your understanding and for making a difference in the life of a rescue animal!

Story
***Out-of-Town Pet*** Miyuki is currently in Crosby TX but is available to be transported to her forever home! Meet Miyuki, your future furry friend! This adorable pure white pit bull mix is full of love and personality. At around 2 years old, she’s just recently been spayed. You can tell she might have been used for breeding before, as her teats hang a bit low, but don’t worry—we're confident they will return to normal as she continues to grow. Miyuki is in great health and has tested negative for heartworms, making her a wonderful companion for years to come. When it comes to playtime, this sweet girl loves to have fun but prefers it to be on the calmer side. She knows how to speak up for herself and will gently let other dogs know when she needs a break. She also has a bit of a curious streak when it comes to cats! She’s very interested in them, though it’s hard to say if she wants to chase them or just play. Around people, Miyuki is such a relaxed and easygoing girl. She loves nothing more than to lounge around the house or take leisurely walks, enjoying her surroundings at her own pace. We think Miyuki would do best in a home with someone who has experience with pit bulls. She’s a strong girl with a little stubbornness, which means she might need some training with basic commands. The good news is that she seems pretty smart, so we’re sure she’ll pick things up quickly with a little patience and love! One delightful aspect about Miyuki is her pure white coat, which led us to worry about potential deafness; however, we are relieved to report that she is not deaf! If you’re interested in giving this sweet girl a loving forever home, please fill out the form below. Story
Otis is a sweet, loving, silly, and stubborn English Bull Terrier. He is goofy - loves to lay on his back and wiggle around. He is super chill - one good walk a day keeps him happy, and he'll mostly lounge around the rest of the day. Otis awas found as a stray 10 years ago, when he was estimated to be around 3 years old.  He's been a very loved faimly member ever since. Otis is pretty mellow for the most part, with bursts of energy (aka zoomies) that will make you forget he's 13 years old! Otis enjoys lounging around on his dog bed or the couch. In warmer weather, he'll enjoy lounging outside and sunbathing all day. He loves one walk a day - ideally at his pace, which can involve side adventures to plug his head into a bush for minutes at a time. An ideal home for Otis would be adults only, with no children (including visiting children) and no other pets. Otis can be reactive with other animals, so he must be an only pet. Any exposure to other animals should be avoided or strictly on leash with careful management by a person experienced with handling a strong dog.  He is typically very sweet and calm with adults.  Children can over stimulate him.  The goal is to maintain safety at all times.  For that reason, he needs a child-free home. Otis is house-trained and only has occassional accidents due to his age, but he is very good at using a pee-pad in a designated place when that happens. He is very good on leash for his walks. Otis does have seasonal arthritis, but it is well-managed with a daily anti-inflammatory. Otis (English Bull Terrier, ~13 yrs, 55 lbs) is a sweet, loving, mellow senior who’s happiest with one good walk a day and then lounging the rest of the time. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and in good health. Otis needs a very specific, safety-focused setup: an adult-only home with no small children (including visiting) and no other pets, and someone comfortable managing a strong dog with clear boundaries.  The perfect home for Otia would also need to have experince with his brred.  This senior gentleman will be an excellent addition to the right family.   To learn more about Otis and request an application please reach out to Vivienne by email at  vivienneajames@gmail.com or text 615-943-7311.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  March 12, 2026, 6:44 pm

Story
Ruthie is a 2-year-old, 60-lb Boxer mix with a gentle soul and a brilliant mind. Before coming into rescue, Ruthie lived on her own for at least 6 months, skillfully evading capture, multiple trapping attempts, and surviving in an industrial area of town. Fed by kind mechanics and workers, she learned how to stay safe, avoid danger, and always show up for food — and that intelligence still shines through today. After a dramatic capture, Ruthie has been in a foster home, where she’s proven to be a very polite houseguest. She is fully house-trained and, even at her scariest moments, has never shown a hint of aggression — no growling, no raised lips, just fear. Ruthie is shy and deeply cautious with people, but she is sweet, gentle, and incredibly observant. We would not be surprised if Ruthie spent some of her life in someone’s home.  This brainy girl reads the room like a pro. She knows when a human might approach and will quietly skedaddle to keep herself feeling safe. While she’s still very nervous about leashes and handling, she allows most people to gently scratch her muzzle, and she’s learning — slowly but surely — that human touch isn’t such a bad thing. Watching her progress has been incredibly rewarding, especially as she’s started to enjoy ear scratches and soft affection from her foster mom. Ruthie is a great pack dog. She does beautifully with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and enjoys playful wrestling with dogs her size, but doesn’t demand play.  She happily coexists with the resident Chihuahua in her foster home. Ruthie is calm and content indoors and also enjoys a daily visit to the dog park. She’s a quiet presence who’s perfectly happy lounging on a chair, listening to her foster mom’s Zoom calls, and soaking in the safety of home life. At home, Ruthie is her foster mom’s quiet shadow. She sleeps in her room, wiggles with excitement when she comes home, follows her around the dog park — and yet may still hop off her bed and slip away if that same foster mom walks toward her for a pet. With Ruthie, trust is built in tiny, meaningful moments, and every day brings progress. Because of her history, Ruthie is a high flight-risk dog, especially in the early days. She will need a very committed adopter with a securely fenced yard, experience with fearful or flight-risk dogs, and a willingness to use safety tools like GPS collars, double leashes, and secure handling. Strength matters too — this is a 60-lb girl who needs someone confident and prepared. Ruthie has been around children at the dog park and treats them like little adults — with polite, reserved hesitation. She is food-motivated, sweet, and incredibly smart. With patience, structure, and time, she has all the makings of a truly special companion. Ruthie is one of those dogs who, with the right adopter and a few committed months of trust-building, will become a dream dog. Watching her finally relax, feel safe, and just be a dog has been an absolute privilege — and we can’t wait to see her find the forever home she deserves. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 19, 2026, 5:05 pm
