Story
Landry is one of those sadly and insane stories of a dog spending month after month at a small rural shelter and constantly facing the chance of being the next one euthanized.  The shelter workers were determined to not let that happen.  They fought and they finally won the threat of him never leaving when they found a foster lady to take Landry and keep him safe out of the shelter and helping him search for a home.  This boy was so upset at the shelter because it is not a good environment to live when you just want to play and run and of course there is no room to do that in a small kennel!  The shelter people KNEW that Landry was a dog they needed to help save.  Yes he is a Pitbull mix…but his heart is that of a Golden Retriever temperament. Landry has proven himself to be a great boy and just as friendly and loving with people as a Golden Retriever would be.  He is exceptional with kitties and EXCELLENT with other dogs! This boy just wants to have fun and help everyone around him to enjoy life together with him.  Landry is already neutered, HW-, has 4 rounds of vaccines currently and rabies all done!! He’s 100% ready for his forever home! He does great sleeping in a crate at night and loves snuggle and belly rub time!! Landry is 40ish pounds, and is truly NOT a big dog at all. He’s a short stocky boy that is estimated to be around 8 months. If you have a heart to save and love a Pittie mix then Landry will NOT disappoint.  Let’s get this boy into a forever home fast so he can bond with his family and have the best life possible!!   Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue about giving Landry a new home. Email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 22, 2024, 1:56 pm

SPENCER**2 YEAR OLD YOUNG MALE**46 POUNDS SPENCER IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE RICHMOND VA AREA. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SPENCER, PLEASE GO TO WWW.MOMSVA.ORG AND COMPLETE AN APPLICATION. Hey! Spencer here, I’m a sweet boy, around 24 months old looking for my people! I got rescued from a scary shelter and my foster mom says I’m just a Happy, Friendly, Silly, Goofy, Funny guy (she can go on and on). I think I have a lot to offer some lucky family, and everyone says I am so smart! I absolutely LOVE training classes and learning new things!! And my teacher says I am SO good at it!! I even pick things up faster than my foster mom! LOL I can be a little shy at first, the world has not always been nice to me, but my foster mom is helping me get more and more confident every day. I hope my new family will continue to help me in my journey, by helping me feel safe and getting me out into the world! After my classes, I get some time in the yard where I can meet new pups! My teachers make sure it is a safe controlled environment which makes me happy. Some want to play, which I am totally up for, some not so much so I try to stay out of their way! I like to play and play hard so hopefully if my new home has a fur sibling, they will like to play too! Human siblings, probably best to keep them older cause I’m still just a kid myself and pretty bouncy. As for the kitties, I’ve never met one so I can’t really say. My ideal home would have a fenced yard so I can run and play because I love my zoomies! Better to get them out in the yard than in the house, my foster mom says! Plus I like to poop in the bushes off leash so there is that. I’m good in my crate, I am always up for a car ride or a walk around the neighborhood, and I am working hard on my loose leash skills! Oh and I like rubber toys that squeak! If you just can’t resist my sweet face as I longingly look into your eyes, please go to www.momsva.org to see if we could be a match!

ALFIE**31 POUND MALE 6 MONTH OLD PIT BULL/HOUND MIX Alfie is located in the Richmond VA area. If you are interested in Alfie, please go to www.momsva.org and complete an application. Hey There! My name is Alfie! I’m a sweet, affectionate, bouncy puppy, about 6 months old, and I love to have fun! I was rescued from a local shelter which was really scary, but now I am safe! I am learning so many new things in my foster home. No one ever spent any time with me to show me the things I need to know so I am now learning how to be the best puppy I can be! I have mastered crate training, no accidents here, although I would rather be out of the crate and playing! Sometimes I get a little anxious in my crate when I am all alone, so my foster brother Spencer keeps me company. I think I would like a home that has a sweet, playful, well-mannered adult dog that already knows the rules so they can help teach me. I do love to play with other dogs! I like playing with my toys, running around the yard, and going for walks. My foster mom says I am not too bad on leash, but I could definitely use a positive obedience training class to help me focus when learning my new skills! My foster mom says it is so important (training) and a must as it will also help me bond with my new family. I am a bit mouthy right now, puppies often explore with their mouths, so older (8+) respectful kids are best. I am all puppy and will require lots of time, patience, positive training methods, and exercise so if you don’t have that time to put into me to help me grow, I am probably not the right pup for you! If now is the right time and you are looking to add to your family, please go to www.momsva.org and complete an application.

Story
Location: Arlington, VANoel has been with Lucky Dog for more than 783 days, patiently waiting for someone to notice her. With her cropped ears and shy demeanor in public -- it is easy to see how she could be overlooked. What people don't realize is that this seeming wallflower becomes a confident and playful dog in the home as long as she has another dog in the home to show her the ropes -- so much so that Noel starts her day by play wrestling with any dog she can find. She would thrive in a quiet home with another dog. She walks well on the leash, but does best in quieter neighborhoods where loud noises won't scare her. She is truly an amazing dog. Please help spread the word and email info@luckydoganimalrescue.org or visit luckydoganimalrescue.org if you think Noel could be a great fit for your family.April 19, 2024, 10:18 am

Story
If you haven't met Pip, check out this stud! He LOVES anything to do with water - swimming, splashing, chasing a garden hose, and kayaking (yes - he even likes to join his human on river excursions). He is constantly on the move, eager to explore and play, and then likes to cuddle and relax at the end of the day. Pip came to Henrico Humane Society as a very young puppy without any confidence, basic skills, or self-control. After living with his supportive foster family and working with Dog Dudes K9 Training, he is now well-behaved, knows many commands, and is ready to be united with his forever family. Pip's ideal home is with an experienced dog owner who will continue his training (his adoption comes with a free training session with Dog Dudes K9 Training), take him on adventures, hikes, and give him the permanent love he deserves. Will you be the one to change his life around? If you have any questions about Pip or would like to arrange to meet him, please email dogs@henricohumane.org or fill out an adoption application at www.henricohumane.org/adopt-a-dog.

Story
Hey all, this is Bellah!! She is a sweet, lovable pitty that is looking for her forever home. She was found in Richmond, VA and was given up by her owners. When she was found she had just had a litter of puppies, but we were unable to find them. Despite being a stray for quite a while her demeanor towards people is one of love. She just wants to find a home that will care for her and treat her as part of the family. The vet believes that she is around 2 years old, but she is very puppy like which makes us think she is a bit younger. As much as we would love for her to be with our family she is not good with little dogs (we have a small chihuahua and a pit that she gets a long with) or small creatures of any kind. We are looking for a home that has already had or have a pitbull and that is looking for a family member. They can be stubborn dogs and need a strong personality to deal this breed. That being said she would be a wonderful addition for a couple or single person. Thanks!

Story
Hey guys, my name is Brew! I came to Powhatan from another shelter where I was surrendered by my owners with no real explanation. Coming from a home into a shelter is very hard and something that no one prepares you for. I am a one year old male pit mix. I am a very energetic and athletic boy who loves to run and play. The other shelter told the people at Powhatan that I am good with kids and other dogs. I think I would be more comfortable around a female dog. I have not been around kids yet, so I am not sure how I would really feel about it, I will never know unless I try it. I am on the more hyper side and think that I would be fine after a little training. Right now, I like to jump on people and kind of invade your personal space. There is nothing that a little love and patience can't fix though! I hope that you will decide to come and meet me and get to know me a little bit. I look forward to seeing you!

Story
Hey there! My name is Jaxx. I am a three year old male pit and mastiff mix. As you might have seen, the people at the shelter left the good with kids and dogs boxes blank. This is not necessarily a bad thing but let me explain real quick. I need time to warm up to new people, but after a few introductions, I am good! When it comes to dogs, I have not presented the best while at the shelter. I have done better with females. Males however are definitely a no go. I ended up here in the shelter as an owner surrender. They moved and could no longer keep me. I have been in a home since I was 5 weeks old and the transition has been quite difficult on me. I am currently in the market for a nice yard, a couch, and a loving family. I would love to meet you if you are interested in meeting me. Please call the people at the shelter or stop by between 9am and 4pm.

Story
We have a special boy to introduce to the families and couples out there wanting a truly special older pup that is totally trained and waiting to love you to pieces. True Blue Toby is a 10 month old Boxer mix puppy that was found as a stray and not in the best shape.  In fact he looked terrible and we felt so bad for this boy to have suffered for so many months.  Once he came to our care we got to work on clearing up hair loss and getting him healthy from those pesky intestinal worms and putting good weight on him.  Gosh Toby is the best boy with a wonderful personality that embraces everyone with love and the anticipation to become steadfast friends.  Shy at first, this boy has blossomed and is Mr. Outgoing in every way.  He just wants to hang out with his humans and love them with full gratitude for making him such a healthy boy.  Housebroken, crate trained and wonderful with other dogs and cats, he is the truly total package if you are looking for a medium sized dog.  He is going to be a 50 pound adult and what a handsome Boxer mix boy he is turning in to.   Email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue :   ccrnewengland@gmail.com   We know will be glad you considered this boy as your very own. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 22, 2024, 1:56 pm

When people think of Snow, they think cold. With this Snow, picture warmth, love, and cuddles. This five year old, just shy of fifty pound sweetheart is all about her people. She has bursts of play but is mainly a calm dog. She is all about being by her person and wanting the love. Now, for men, some she loves and some she has to take a minute to relax around.  Snow currently lives with an 80 pound male and a 23 pound female companion. She can be a sassy thing and wants what she wants - a tiny bit of a diva in there. She has met other playful dogs and done well. She also has hung out with another 100 pound male lab. Took her a second to realize he was a lover not a fighter but they are now fast friends. Snow needs a six foot privacy fence for her backyard space. Now who wants Snow to be your cuddle buddy for many years to come! If you are interested in adopting Snow, please fill out an application today!April 19, 2024, 10:18 am

This sweet gal sure can bring a smile to anyone’s face. With her goofy boxer wiggles and her little nubbin that goes super fast when she sees people. She still has some boxer spunk to her. She loves a good romp with her fur friends or the kids and then she will just snuggle right up and chill. She has done great with her fellow puppers from the super hyper to the old and grumpy to the tiny and snappy. She has been around a toddler and older children and seems to enjoy being around them. She is crate trained with no accidents in the house. Working on basics and leash manners. Don't let this old gals grey face fool you. She still has a lot of love, snuggles and romps in the sun to give. She really is a gem! If you are interested in adopting Clarabell, please fill out an application today!April 19, 2024, 10:18 am
