Hi... I'm Sadie. I'm about 5 years old, and I'm still learning what safety feels like. Before I came here, I was part of a large seizure case in Shenandoah County. There were about 20 of us dogs kept in a very small space. It was crowded and confusing, and I didn't always feel safe. I think some of the other dogs may have bullied me a little... so I learned to stay quiet, stay small, and hope for kinder days. I'm still a bit nervous, but I'm trying so hard to open up. Underneath my timid heart, I'm sweet &#194&#151 really sweet. I love soft voices, gentle hands, and running in the yard where the world finally feels big enough for me to breathe. I walk nicely on a leash, and I'm doing my best to be brave one step at a time. I'm not sure how I feel about other dogs or cats yet. I'm still figuring that part out. But what I do know is that I'll blossom with someone patient... someone who understands that healing takes time... someone who will let me learn what love feels like at my own pace. Meet Athena. 45lb, 2.5 year old Pittie baby, looking for her forever family. Removed from a neglectful situation, we have been fostering her for several months. Athena is eager to please and knows commands. I have also taught her to sing, when asked. Too cute! Are you a hiker? Well Athena may just be the girl for you. I take her out on the trails and we have done 20+ miles in a single day. Ever aware and always protective of her hiking companion, this girl has the energy and the loyalty to make a great trail dog. Not a hiker? No worries. Athena also loves to chew on antlers, peanut butter kongs, loves squeakers and play fetch. She is also the queen of snuggles. She prefers sleeping and cuddling with her person at night. Can't go wrong with this little girl for a cuddle buddy. We were told she gets along with other dogs. But the four dogs we have now don't get along with her. So, she is kept separate. She would be best with a solo companion or someone with experience with this breed. We do not know how she is with kids. She has all of her shots. We were told that she wasn't fixed, however, we have had her for almost a year and she hasn't gone into heat. This little girl needs a stable and lasting home. We are determined to find her the perfect family, so she never has to go through neglect or abandonment again. We want her to be adored. Unfortunately he dont like to be locked in a crate and has destroyed several crates escaping them . He enjoys running loose on farm been around pigs and chickens he does chase chickens . He needs someone thats active person that can take him on hikes and spend lots of time with him and not leave him home during day in a cage . He has been neutered and microchiped.

Deigo Is such a good boy and deserves a home so much, hes been in foster care for almost his entire life. Deigo is good with dogs, but it must be the right dog. This is his best gal pal Maggie who he gets to visit with sometimes. Deigo needs a home with a Maggie type dog. He needs that no nonsense older dog who will show him the ropes and keep him in line. He absolutely adores Maggie and loves and respects her. He takes correction from her beautifully. However if put with the wrong dog it could easily turn to an altercation. Deigo doesnt get that most dogs don’t appreciate his rough and tumble paws and spit flying play style and they get mad at him rally fast and he doesn’t get that he’s making them mad and keeps engaging them in play when they are ready to tear into him. Poor dude just doesnt get it. There has to be a home out there with a Maggie, there has to be. Or a home with no other dogs is ok to. Deigo also does really well in a controlled setting taking walks with other dogs. He’s been waiting so so long for a family. Please give our guy a share .Deigo is fully vetted and 2 years old.
