She was adopted as a tiny kitten and lived happily in an apartment with her owner: enjoying playtime, cuddles, and her cat tree. However, her world was turned upside down when she had to move due to her owner’s roommate’s cat allergies. She was placed in a noisy temporary home with dogs, which was a bit too much for her little heart to handle. AWHAR offered assistance, and Honey is now adjusting well in a new, calmer foster environment. She’s back to her playful self, having a blast with other cats, and is ready to find a loving, permanent home. Lovely Little Rice = Tabby Girl Needs a Final Home ASAP! Meet Rice! This girl came from a cat colony in South Dekalb, Georgia, in a suburban neighborhood. A  cat loving resident knew of a person trying to hurt the colony and reached out for help.  We were able to remove all cats from the area and now Miss Rice is looking for a forever home.  She loves other cats so much, and needs to go to a home with another cat.  She is a lovely little girl, just a bit shy due to the chaos of living outside and dodging people and coyotes who were killing many of her friends. She would thrive in a home that is adults only or older children who understand she may take a while to warm up. All cats are on a trial basis and we take them back now or in the future if needed. Rice is negative for all diseases and fully vetted and spayed. She is a playful, a delight, and deserves a great home! Meet MISS ANGIE: A Beautiful, Resilient Friendly Girl -  Gray Stripe/White Tabby Angie is a stunning brown and white tabby with a sweet, adorable face and a lot of love to give! Despite a rough past, she’s a gentle and friendly girl who’s finally ready for a forever home. She is very smart, when she gets to know you just a bit, all she has to hear is the first note of your voice and she starts calling for you!  Angie is a lovely girl, who loves to eat and loves other cats.  Her Story: Poor sweet Angie was Twice abandoned! Angie was rescued from a tough situation where she had been living on the streets for over a year with feral cats. Previously, she was adopted from a local shelter, but sadly, her owner abandoned her. AWHAR rescued her a year later. I adopted him from my boss who’s daughter couldn’t keep him in her apartment. He is very affectionate and warms up to people very quickly. He has been around dogs but he does take a long time to warm up to them. He is great with kids and other cats. He also is very curious and loves to explore.

Simon is a friendly and talkative boy who loves to cuddle. He has never met a stranger. He is playful and silly with a big personality. He is curious and loves to explore new places. He is a party favorite and loves being around lots of people and sitting in your lap getting pets.

Lily came from the Humane Society shelter in Albuquerque, NM. They said she was 8 years old and I’ve had her for 10 years, so she’s potentially 18 years old! Lily is a sweet girl who is very cuddly once she’s warmed up to someone. Lily is not a good jumper but is generally very youthful for her age. She still enjoys zoomies and playing with catnip toys. She definitely needs to be an only child. She has lived with another cat before and did not like it. Recently, she is living with a baby/toddler and is also not happy. An ideal home for Lily would be with a person with a generally quiet/calm home who could give her lots of attention and cuddles. Lily is really a wonderful girl who will want to spend lots of quality time with you. I love this girl to death and really want to find her a loving home where she is not stressed out the way she’s been with our growing family.
