Willow is a 7 year old indoor cat that mostly just wants to cuddle and play. I adopted her at 12 weeks as a rescue. She loves her routine of food in the morning, then sitting on my lap for a while, and then doing her own thing until it's finally time to eat her dinner. She loves couch time in the evening. She also really enjoys chasing reflecting light from phones or watches. She has a tendency to get anxious when strangers are around. She has swatted at a few house guests before even though they'd love to pet and play with her. She does the typical cat thing where she will just go hide for a while when people are over, but eventually she gets annoyed that people are still in the house and that's when she makes her presence more known. Our Vet recently recommended Prozac to help with her anxiety, and it has seemed to mellow her out so far. Overall she would do well to be in an environment where most of the time she gets to hang out with her person and just chill.

Gracie is two years old and sweet as pie. Gracie has a brother, Oscar, who is also listed on adoptapet.com. It’s my hopes that they can be adopted together. Like her brother, Gracie is shy. She is sensitive to fast movements and loud noises. Gracie does suffer from occasional seizures. I have counted 4 since she was born. When she does come to you she likes to give head-butts and little kisses. Gracie lets me hold her, but she prefers not to be held. She doesn’t like to be off of her feet for too long. Gracie and Oscar both like to go outside sometimes. In the fall Gracie likes to talk to the leaves as they fall to the ground. She is fascinated by this. Both Oscar and Gracie come in the house when I call them, and they are never left unattended while outdoors. They are well trained, fed, and loved by me. They both have quite the appetite! Gracie is my little twinkle-toes. She is very special to me and it will be hard for me to part with her.

Oreo is a retired barn cat. He spent his younger days on the farm keeping the mice away. Now that he is older he enjoys sleeping the days away in a nice soft bed in the house. He prefers the company of female cats over males as he can become territorial. He very much enjoys human contact and loves to snuggle and seek affection. Mr. Gray is a sweet boy. He has retired from being a barn cat but still very much like to go outside and lay in the grass. He is gray colored and has medium length hair. He is a purr machine! He enjoys time with people and likes to sit on laps and be pet. Mr Gray is retired and looking for a retirement home, is that with you?

Phantom is an amazing mouser! If you need rodent control and a cuddle buddy look no further. Phantom has plenty of experience and now look for a retirement home. Black cats have more baggage than your average feline. Seen as an enigma, a superstition, a symbol of luck – good or bad, depending on the tradition or belief, they are often misunderstood, or just plain looked over. Black cats have the lowest adoption rate. This is unfortunate, and not just for the cats- black cats make some of the best companions and people are really missing out! Although each and every cat has a unique personality, in general, I have noticed a few traits that really stand out in black cats. Here, in my humble experience is why: Beautiful: From brownish to bluish to every shade of black in between, black cats are beautiful in the way that one can only imagine onyx would be, if it were covered in fur. Loyal: No matter how many work trips or late nights, I am always greeted at the door. I am meowed to over the phone when away. Black cats are wonderful in being both friendly to all and dedicated to their person/people. Adaptable: While some cats struggle with change, black cats tend to quickly adapt to whatever circumstances they are dealt. Aware: Black cats seem to walk a line- they tend to be more calm and reserved than some other cats, yet they balance that by staying playful and active throughout their lives. They relish new toys, found objects, and are talented at entertaining themselves for hours (and napping for hours thereafter). The types of games they create and the ones they enjoy engaging in often involve others-people, cats, dogs, etc., and tend to be more complex, such as games of fetch and tag. Smart: In a final word, black cats are smart. They are savvy to things going on around them, and highly responsive and capable of handling change, throughout which, they remain calm, loving, energetic companions.
