Story
Hi, my name is Avril. My birthday is September 23rd. During the warmer days my friends let me have a pool. I love the water, especially when it is super hot! I love lounging around in my pool, playing with my kennel mate Beckett, and trading loving for some treats. I have some energy and like to play, but mostly I like just napping. I would love a good lap to lay on.

Story
Hi. My name is Fynch. I am a young, itty bitty pittie and a full-time heart thief. Let us just address the obvious, I am absolutely, unfairly adorable. The little face? The tiny pittie body? The way I look at you like you are my whole world? Iconic. But I am not just cute, I am sweet, like melt into your lap, please hold me forever sweet. I am a certified lap dog. If you sit down, I am climbing up. I walk great on a leash. I am crate trained, love car rides and I thrive on attention. I get along with everyone dogs, cats and i am obsessed with kids. I am small enough to fit perfectly in your arms but big enough in personality to light up your whole house. But what I really want to be known for is being your forever girl. Apply to meet me. Try not to fall in love. She is in a foster home, so a meet and greet can be arranged. Visit or call the shelter if you would like to meet the adoptable pets. Story
If boisterous and beautiful is your kind of gal, meet Norma! She truly embraces life, with a long list of things she loves that includes romping in the yard, squeaking the squeak out of squeaky toys, playing tug, polishing her already good obedience skills (with a few yummy treats for motivation) and so much more. But don't feel left out - she also enjoys her people-time. In fact, she'll push through a loose gate to come be with you, so a secure yard is key. Due to her play style and energy, she is recommended as companion for dogs her own size only, kids 10+, and no cats please.  Norma has EPI, a condition that is manageable with a low-fat diet and enzyme supplements. Please ask the shelter for details.  ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB:  Jan 2018 ~  Intake weight:  59#  ~  Adoption details/application:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.html  January 24, 2025, 9:51 pm

Story
Johnny is a big beefy dog looking for a big beefy guy (or gal) to pal around with! Throw on your matching tank tops and do your workouts together (you're sure to turn heads), followed by a long session tossing the ball around (he never passed a ball he didn't want to pick up), followed by maybe some weight lifting (he'll be your squatty spotter), followed by...yes, you guessed it, Johnny is all go! He's a bit of a freight train on leash and just enough of a bowling ball to knock over small kids, so an adult-only, active, breed aware home is going to be the best fit. Johnny is not compatible with other animals, so make sure you are going to the private gym (not to be mistaken with the dog park).  Est DOB:  Oct 2017 * Est weight: 75# January 1, 2026, 11:05 pm

Story
If you like to set up obstacle courses on your 'back 40' and want a dog able to compete alongside you...Katrina has you covered! Katrina is fearless and limitless when it comes to jumping, climbing, walking a balance beam, or anything really that is between 'Katrina' and 'where Katrina wants to be.' In return for your really, really great fence or commitment to leash walks, you get a constantly-wiggling, super-loving girl with a fantastic smile and a world-class head tilt. She also enjoys water sports - got a hose or water gun? She'll entertain herself and you nonstop!! - and car rides. Katrina loves all people but precisely zero non-people (she is a devoted only pet with no dog park potential at all). Please contact the shelter if Katrina sounds like your next BFF.   Est DOB: Nov 2014  * Est weight: 50# * Breed unknown - guess based on looksJanuary 5, 2026, 11:04 pm

Story
Meet Lux! A 15 month old, male pure bred American Staffordshire Terrier. A breed known for deep loyalty to their family, smart and physically & mentally active. Lux is being re-homed through no fault of his own. His family of 5 lead extremely busy lives and Lux is stuck in his crate/kennel, bored and sad. His family wants him to enjoy life with an owner(s) who will spend time with him. He could use more leash training and basic commands to temper his puppy energy. Lux is neutered, up to date on all vaccines. He is on monthly heartworm/flea & tick prevention. Lux is full of smiles and love just aching to share with you. He needs experienced owners who can handle his size and energy. He gets playful and can accidentally knock down young kids. He is so silly and loving and will make a great, loyal pet for the right family.
