Story

Gus has been with our family for a little over a year now. Unfortunately I have become severely allergic to him and therefore we are unable to be his forever home. He loves to play fetch and chase, run outside and is a huge cuddle bug. He is house trained, crate trained and is working on leash training. He knows a few simple commands and is learning more every day as his confidence grows. We have also been working on his self confidence and socialization as he is pretty much a big scaredy cat. He has been living with a 14 year old and is amazing around her and her friends, however due to his skittishness, he will probably be best suited in a calmer household with no young children or other pets. He has a huge heart and wants nothing more than to hang out, cuddle and play with his people. Please reach out with any questions or for additional photos. Hot to trot and still moving and grooving, is our lady Layla. She is nine years young and sporting her little black dress. Layla is a playful, affectionate girl when she gets to know you. She can be a little cautious with new people and likes to take her time feeling things out, but once you are in her inner circle, she really opens up. She loves going out with her favorite volunteers on walks or the occasional car ride. She is a great little passenger princess, sniffing the passing wind with a giant smile. While she is getting better with people, she does not share the same feelings for her canine companions, and would be best as the only furbaby in the home. She is very treat motivated and loves food, but does have allergies to chicken. She is also hypothyroid, so she does take a thyroid medication once in the morning and once in the evening. She is very easy to give her medication to, whether it be in a pill pocket or a meatball prepped personally by staff. Even though she doesn’t act her age, this beautiful senior girl would love a quiet, cozy home and family to call her own. Layla would love to be your one and only, to build and share all those special memories with. Look at that smile on Tonka's face! Tonka is such a happy girl and smiles whenever she sees someone she knows. She isn't fond of initially meeting new people so slow introductions are required but she warms up quickly and once you're in her circle of friends, you'll receive that smile every time she sees you. Her whole face lights up and her bum wiggle starts. You can't help but smile back at her. Tonka is 12 years old and has spent a great deal of those years at Satchel's. While she can be excitable, she wants nothing more than attention from those she loves. Tonka knows basic commands and walks well on the leash once her initial excitement over the prospect of going for a walk diminishes. She's looking for a quiet retirement home. A home with not a lot of "strangers" coming and going. A home welcoming that smile and her kisses every day. A home with someone to share all her love - she has so much to give.
