Lucas had lived in a home rife with domestic violence only to be put in another home where he was completely neglected for almost two months. When the police department called and asked us for help, we couldn't say no. He had already endured so much, there was no way we could let him face another uncertainty. Today this awesome dog is enjoying a new life, where he can just be his "chill" self, enjoy playing or snoozing in the sun, and all the attention he gets from volunteers. But what Lucas needs is a forever home where he can settle in and just enjoy being a loyal companion to his family. Lucas has done well with other dogs, but a meet and greet would be required.

This sweet boy was picked up by Davie Police who asked for our help. Magneto was emaciated, dehydrated, starved, covered in fleas, anemic, loaded with parasites, had an infection on his tail and was heart worm positive -- and had been abandoned. As soon as Magneto started getting healthy, he started showing his incredible personality. He is happy, goofy, playful, and he is also very affectionate. Story

In May 2017, we were notified that an abandoned dog had been hit and left to die on the side of the road. Miraculously, he had managed to drag himself into the woman's yard and she immediately reached out to us. The dog was in terrible shape. His skin was torn, his body emaciated and he had lived through horrors none of us could begin to imagine, as he showed all the signs of having been a bait dog. We rushed him to the emergency vet hospital where our suspicions were confirmed. This young dog had lived a life of unimaginable pain prior to being dumped and hit by a truck. The vets cleaned and stitched his wounds; some so gaping, they had to be surgically repaired. Many old wounds in varying stages of healing were also attended to. The dog was quiet and grateful; it was probably the first time his wounds had ever been cleaned -- it was no doubt the first time he experienced such kindness. We named him Goliath. Goliath healed and went to a wonderful foster home, where he had other dogs to play with, a pool to swim in and the home life he never knew was possible. The horrors of his past didn't influence his new future -- he was living and loving every minute. Goliath then went to another foster -- a man who loved him more than words could say, and he was adopted. He had a good life and was very much loved by his dad. He was home. But alas, Goliath's happy days were short-lived when his dad was killed in a motorcycle accident. We can't even imagine what poor Goliath was feeling. The person he had bonded with and loved left and never came back. The family said they would keep him but later decided not to and now he is back with us. Goliath is now a little older but still a happy, sweet, loving dog. He has settled into the boarding facility where he is getting a lot of attention from our awesome volunteers. We have no doubts he misses his dad and the home he once had. We hope that Goliath, this dog who has already been through so much in his life, will have another home soon, where he will once again know he is loved and will be so for the rest of his days. Warrior  was found back in December on the side of a highway, very skinny, and dragging himself to the bushes. Unfortunately this guy had suffered a lot, and it is unknown what have caused the fracture on his back. He was tested positive for heartworm and thankfully we have done the complete treatment already. He is now finally neutered, cured, vaccinated, microchipped and all set to find a wonderful family to make him forget all the nightmare he had to endure in life. Warrior needs someone to teach him love! Someone that walk him at least 2 to 3 times a day on his wheelchair, and he can smell the flowers…He need to find love! Warrior would do better in a home where he is the only child, and only with adults. Since he cannot walk, makes him to be frustrated when there is too much noise, or other animals running around. Cooper was living with his trainer at Everglades Correctional Facility in Miami where Magic City K9 offers its program to give inmates and dogs a second chance to thrive. Cooper has learned many commands (more than 40!) including leash etiquette and proper socialization with dogs. He was friends with most dogs in the training class and just needs a proper introduction to make dog friends. Cooper is a big softie once he knows you but can be nervous around strangers, so a slow introduction to new people or a low traffic home is best.
