When Christian came to us in late September, he was suffering hip pain due to a deformed femur-head. Veterinarians at the UI Small Animal Clinic determined he was a good candidate for an FHO surgery (Femoral Head Osteotomy). Christian had the surgery and went into foster care for physical therapy and recovery. He is now fully recovered and doing great! Christian was a real joy for the foster parents as well. He is a very good dog and loves to cuddle with his humans. You can see photos and videos of Christian in his foster home on the Pups-is-Pups Facebook page: Facebook.com/pupsispups. Come out and meet him; he is a real sweetheart!

Meet Marrietta A fluffy, soft-coated sweetheart with the spirit of an American Bully mix and the energy of a pup who’s just discovered the joy of zoomies. Around a year old (give or take), Marrietta is smart, food-motivated, and always ready for a good walk or a wild run. She’s great with other dogs — especially the chill, tolerant kind who don’t mind her playful button-pushing antics. While she gets along with everyone she meets, Marrietta definitely brings the spice, so a dog friend who can roll with her bold personality would be ideal. Marrietta is also refreshingly independent. She’s not the clingy, in-your-face affectionate type — she prefers doing her own thing and coming in for connection on her terms. If you appreciate a dog with a little autonomy and a lot of heart, she might be your perfect match. This bundle of love is ready to find her forever home — one that celebrates her quirks, fuels her adventures, and gives her space to shine! (Born Oct 2022)
