Story
Roux is an 85-pound gentle soul with a heart as big as his smile. At around 8–9 years old, this handsome mixed-breed boy is firmly in his “retirement era” — and he wears it beautifully. Roux has shown nothing but quiet resilience and kindness. He’s currently thriving in a foster home of his own, where he enjoys peaceful days, leisurely walks with his foster dad, and long, well-earned naps afterward. Despite his size, Roux has a soft spot for the little ones — he absolutely loves small dogs and even tiny puppies. He also has “grandkids” who visit a couple times a week, and he does wonderfully with them. Roux is trusted to roam freely in his foster home and is never kenneled. Medically, Roux has a medium heart murmur that does not require medication at this time — just routine monitoring at his annual veterinary visits. Roux is searching for a calm, loving home where he can enjoy cozy days, gentle walks, and all the affection he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share quiet moments and unconditional love, Roux may be your perfect match. This pet is up for adoption through one of our trusted rescue partners, Rescue K-911. He or she is currently in one of their fabulous foster homes. If you would like more information on this pet please reach out to Rescue K-911 directly: (913) 543-1364 rescuek911ks@gmail.com http://k911foundation.com

Story
UPDATED BIODOB: 4/13/24                          Current Weight(as of 2/25): 45pds Adoption Fee: $200 includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. LEGO is in a foster home and this is their update! Lego is crate trained and  housebroken!! Lego is super smart and has learned the 'sit', 'stay', ' come'  commands.  He is really well behaved in the home. He is still going thru the chewing stage so we have plenty of appropriate things he can chew on.  Lego loves people and is a people pleaser. Lego would love going to obedience classes to continue his learning.  Lego has turned into a well adjusted, gentle, sweet dog looking for his forever family.  Lego came to us from the Nevada  Animal  shelter as a puppy, he is now a year old.  He has beautiful eyes. Lego loves other dogs and he loves playing with all sizes but the little ones..... under 20pds can sometimes be overwhelmed with his playfulness. He would be a great playmate for a medium or large size dog.  Lego loves water! He has to put his paws in the water dish if not watched.  We have a kid size plastic pool that he loves to play in.  Lego will do great with most any family. Lego definitely sounds more like a hound when he barks! Lego requires a home with a fenced yard and kids 16 and older. Lego has been neutered, wormed, microchipped, and vaccinated. He is on monthly heartworm prevention (required year round) If you are interested in meeting/adopting Lego just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.  Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
Approx. DOB: 3/17/23                 Approx. Weight: 38 lBS Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Miss Darla is looking for a family as wonderful as herself. Her foster mom says she is house and crate trained.  She will whine to let you know she needs to go out. Darla has loved playing with the dogs in her foster home because they are all even tempered like her. The dogs that are bossy and dominant she does not like. Darla loves to play tag, tug and chase with her furry friends.  The yard she plays in has a 4'  chain link fence and she has never tried to get out or over it.  She will sometimes play fetch unless the ball or toy interest her more then returning it... LOL. Darla has been working on walking on leash wearing a harness,  which we include with her adoption, plus her collar and leash.    I have been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Story
Meet Guac! Guac is a gentle soul with a heart as soft as his fur. This sweet pup had a rough start in life, but he’s slowly learning that the world can be a kind and loving place. Shy at first, Guac takes a little time to warm up—but once he trusts you, he’ll reward you with the sweetest snuggles and quiet companionship. Because sudden movements and loud noises can be overwhelming for him, Guac would do best in a calm, patient home with adults or seniors who understand that love takes time. He’s not aggressive with kids, but the busy energy of little ones can make him nervous. Guac is almost fully potty trained (he’s so close!) and is eager to keep learning with a gentle routine and positive encouragement. He’s the kind of pup who thrives in a peaceful environment, where he can feel safe and blossom into the loyal friend he’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive companion who will melt your heart once he trusts you, Guac might just be your perfect match. 💚 Guac will come with age-appropriate vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $200. Apply to adopt Guac today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog or at www.lucky13rescue.org.
