I adopted Bubba five years ago while living with my parents, where he had a large yard and plenty of space. During that time, I was able to spend most of my days with him, and he became a very loving, people-friendly companion. He gets excited to meet new people but has never shown aggression toward humans. Since then, my life has changed significantly. I now have a young son, a demanding career, and live in an apartment, which is very different from the environment Bubba is used to. After a lot of consideration, I believe he would do best in a home that can offer more space and time. Bubba’s ideal home would be with someone who can spend a good amount of time with him, is physically able to handle a larger dog, and has a house with a yard. He has a calm demeanor, enjoys being close to his person, and is well-behaved indoors. He has never chewed furniture or shoes. He can be selective with other dogs. He has lived successfully with a French Bulldog, but careful introductions advised.

You don’t need lights to decorate your house — Ellen Griswold will bring her own sparkle, sass, and holiday-worthy joy without raising your electric bill ✨ Ellen is a sweet, silly 2-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix, currently around 65 pounds (and may fill out a bit more — being a mom is exhausting, after all). She absolutely adores people and does great with other dogs, especially ones who enjoy playtime as much as she does. This girl is high energy and full of life — think joyful freight train when she gets excited. There’s zero aggression here, just enthusiasm and a whole lot of love. Because of that, she’d do best in an active home with a fenced yard or people who enjoy long walks and staying busy. A playful canine sibling would be ideal; she may be a bit much for a senior dog. She loves kids, but due to her size and tendency to jump when excited, we wouldn’t recommend a home with very small children. Ellen has great house manners, too. She’s housetrained, sleeps through the night in her kennel (which she keeps clean), and knows commands like sit, shake, and outside. She walks nicely on a leash — unless squirrels decide to act suspicious, in which case she feels it’s her duty to supervise. She also has a flair for fashion and looks adorable rocking a cozy sweater while strutting her stuff. While she can be a little shy around men at first, once she trusts you, she’s all in for cuddles and closeness. Dogs are a person’s best friend. Don’t we know it! The purest of friendships are between a human and their 4-legged buddy. Roux exemplifies that saying so well, because there is no truer friend than a guy like Roux. He is 9 years old and weighs about 70 lbs. His goofy way and his chill approach to life will keep you focused every day on what’s important: a good life with people you love. Roux knows the ways of an adult dog well. He knows many basic commands, and he is trustworthy around the house. You can leave him to roam freely even when you’re away, and he won’t mess up anything or get into things that aren’t his. He’s great on a leash for walks, though his 70 pounds add up if he sees a squirrel or another dog and wants to let you know. He loves to go on car rides, and he doesn’t care if he rides shotgun or in the back, because he’s just happy to be there. He is a fashionable dude, and he loves to wear clothes so that you can dress him up year-round. He’ll help you root for your favorite teams wearing sports gear, or he’ll wear the latest runway lewks – you and Roux can do a daily fit check together. Roux loves attention, but he doesn’t demand attention; seriously, what a great best friend. His favorite toys are squeaky stuffies, and he can be playful and is goofy. He is mellow most of the time and naps throughout the day, so give him a couple of comfy beds, and he’ll appreciate them. He sleeps on a bed next to his foster’s bed at night, but he’d be great at sharing your bed too. Roux needs to be in a home with no young kids or cats. She was rescued from a man that thought beating was an appropriate way to train a dog so she's initially cautious around males but warms up when she knows they can be trusted. She can also be a little head shy until she knows that the hand in question is going to provide a loving touch instead of a slap. Hi! My name is Nufasi. I was adopted from the Lawrence Humane Society in Nov. 2019. My owners think I‘m about 11ish years old now. I have an incredibly sweet & affectionate personality. I love cuddling & lounging around like a couch potato, and giving lots of kisses! I am good with kids, but would do better with older kiddos that won’t poke & prod at me. I’m needing a home without any other pets. I do need daily medication for pain & a thyroid condition, which makes me special needs. I’ve had TPLO surgeries on both my back legs, so my legs & hips have become sore & arthritic as I’ve gotten older. My current owner had some mental health challenges recently, and would love for me to find a calm & loving home to provide me with the love & attention I deserve in my final years. They’re hoping I can find a home with a fenced yard to keep me comfy & happy. My owners are sad to say goodbye, but they just want what’s best for me & know this is the right thing to do. They say I’m the best!

Burner is seeking a family! This little guy (under 40lbs) was running free and decided he just didn't like being alone. He's still just a kid, after all, about 1.5 years old. His eyes may be different colors and his ears may be a lil goofy, but no one taught him how to match. He's since learned the good life, and doesn’t require much bed space as he prefers to be as close to his person as possible. If you're in a shared space or apartment, please be aware he loves to sing...loudly. He also enjoys a good tuggy toy with dog friends and chewing on bone bones. Recently, his friends have introduced him to the delicacy of peanut butter and he hasn't looked back. Got kids? Dogs? Awesome!! Burner loves playing with friends! He hasn't been around a cat, but chihuahuas are scary! Ive learned what it means to be house trained&#44 how to share my toys&#44 and Ive experienced what it means to be loved&#44 really and truly loved by a human. <br/><br/>I want so much to trust every human I meet right away. But I need a little time to get to know someone and really develop a sense of connection and love for that human. The shelter experience lends itself to a lot of unfamiliar people needing to interact with me often&#44 and I get nervous and scared around all that attention. I prefer slower introductions&#44 getting to know the person&#44 and finding that I can trust that no one wants to hurt me. Once there is patience and understanding between us&#44 Im a little doll. Ive got quite the personality&#44 and I want so much to be a part of a family and feel included in activities.<br/><br/>I am also kennel trained&#44 and I like to sleep in my quiet little spot. Ive been soaking up the love in a foster home recently. When Im not snuggled up with Foster Dad&#44 I enjoy playing with my toys and snoozing the day way. I absolutely adore squeaky toys&#44 and Im a big fan of car rides&#44 too.
