Story
Meet Cyrus, the delightful  Staffordshire Terrier Mini Australian Shepherd mix born 4/30/23 and weighing in at 35 pounds. Cyrus is a clever and potty-trained pup, always eager to learn new tricks for a tasty treat.  Cyrus's unique blend of breeds brings together the agility of an Australian Shepherd and the charm of a Staffordshire Terrier, making him the perfect companion for both shopping sprees and cozy evenings at home.Although initially reserved, once he trusts you, he transforms into a Velcro dog, sticking by your side with unwavering loyalty.  Cyrus was one of nine puppies born to Mama Ember who was brought to Nebraska after being dumped in the country in Oklahoma, she made it here just in time to deliver her babies in the safety of her foster home. There were some complications due to a breech puppy and Ember ended up being rushed to the vet for an emergency c-section for the delivery of her last two pups. Her breech baby didn’t make it but the remaining nine babies are thriving under her care! The suggested adoption fee for Cyrus is $365. Bullies-N-Beyond ResQ is a non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR are adopted with DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already spayed or neutered if old enough, or a voucher will be provided once the dog becomes of age. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on their needs to provide the best fit home. ##1713591##

Story
Sailor, an American Staffordshire Terrier, was taken in as a stray by a vet clinic in Holden, KS where she gave birth to eight beautiful puppies in September. It is estimated that she was born in April, 2022. Sailor is currently thriving in her foster home where she enjoys ice cubes, peanut butter, and playing with her human kiddos. When she hears "night night," she knows that it's bedtime, and this little smartie gets right in her kennel with a small treat.  She also knows "wait" and "gentle."  When playing fetch, she sits politely without being told.  When relaxing, Sailor enjoys watching the dog channels on YouTube.  We've learned that Sailor doesn't like loud noises, which seems to be her only negative trait. We predict that Sailor will be a valued addition to some lucky family. The suggested adoption fee for Sailor is $365.  Bullies-N-Beyond ResQ Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Story
Meet Cash, the 83-pound hunk of staffie mix – a living testament to the saying, "Big dogs, big hearts, bigger appetites." Cash is a master of basic commands, but occasionally practices selective hearing. The way to Cash’s attention is through his stomach - which makes the staff feel he is highly trainable. On walks, Cash is a sniffing Sherlock Holmes, investigating everything thoroughly, so it may be a zigzagging adventure until he has a chance for more training. And when it comes to wildlife, Cash's high prey drive transforms him into a canine Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Backyard Squirrel, so a good harness leash is recommended. Cash's quirks are balanced by moments of pure zen. Imagine quiet evenings with Cash, the cuddle aficionado, offering generous kisses and turning your downtime into the best part of the day.Stubborn at times, sure, but Cash's charm lies in his personality. He's not just a dog; he's a comedic companion, adding laughter and love to every day. Ready for a treat-filled, adventure-packed life? Adopt Cash – because life's better with an 83-pound bundle of joy.  For more information, visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/ Thanks to our amazing Angel Sponsors, our long term pups now come with reduced adoption fees, alleviating financial road blocks for some, and making it even easier to open your heart and home to a furry friend. The adoption fee is $100 plus tax and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.   Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##1344047##

5 or 6 month old puppy - good mannersMugsley is appro 5 to 6 months old. He has adult incisors but still has his baby canine teeth. This adorable BIG puppy was picked up on a stray hold in Nebraska City and not claimed. So we have no owner information or date of birth. He is neutered and up to date on all vaccines.  Mugsley is just way too cute. He has really awesome manners for a 5 month old and just LOVES human contact and attention. He will lay on the couch or bed forever if he has someone with him. He sleeps through the night and is picking up potty training really quickly. He will indicate when he needs to go out and try to get your attention. We crate him during the day while we are gone, but otherwise he is free range all day. He cries when he can't reach me and there is a gate in the way. He sleeps with the cats at the foot of the bed. He has already gotten taller in the 2 weeks we've had him. He is going to be a BIG boy! You can still see his ribs a little, but he has been gaining weight fast!   He might even prove to be mixed with something tall. He is lanky and growing like a weed. Story
Rosie is loving and loyal. She is motivated by treats and making her person happy and is trainable. Rosie is house trained, crate trained. She doesn’t mind her crate and can also be trusted in the house when you’re away. Rosie can walk on a leash but can also pull when she sees something. We are asking that her adopter have a fenced yard for her to safely do zoomies. Rosie can demonstrate bad manners when greeting and may be too much for kids under 10. She has lived in a house with 3 older children (10+) her whole life with no issues. Rosie loves people and has never been aggressive to any human - family or strangers (just sometimes over excitable, jumps, etc) Rosie does not like other dogs and can be dominant. Rosie will need a home where she is the only dog. Despite being adopted at the same time, she and her “sister” dog can no longer live together because they frequently scuffle and Rosie has some scars to show. She has been well cared and has no lingering issues.

Story
Are you a one or two adult household looking for a companion to all out spoil who will repay with infinite cuddles? Berry (the Snuggler) is your man. Berry is a really sweet and good boy. He is young and active but is happy to chill and chew on a bone by your side. Berry loves being close to his people and wants to please so badly that our foster mom has taken advantage of this and taught him some basic tricks and commands. He is motivated by both food and attention. Berry had quite the unfair start to life and came from a hoarding situation where the children and 3 dogs were taken away. It is clear that though he may have been loved, being taught good doggy manners was not the top priority. Berry does really well with the foster’s current 2 dogs, BUT those dogs generally get along with all dogs so if you do have “dog selective” dogs Berry may not be the best fit (again, lacking some manners). Once Berry settles in to his home he will protect it and his humans so we recommend slow introductions to new people - a home without a lot of strangers coming in and out constantly may be best. Berry LOVES to cuddle and is the dog who wants to wrapped up in the blankets with you. He is not a fan of this cold and would probably love his very own doggy coat too. Berry is fully potty trained, knows sit, kennel, and various other basic commands! You: *opens car door* Berry: ...you son of my mother I'm in. Story
Sasha, the reigning monarch of her foster castle, is a six-year-old English Bulldog with a heart as big as her adorable wrinkles. In her ideal home, she would prefer to assert her regal status as the one and only fur child. Sasha, having grown up in the presence of kiddos, exudes a gentle and amiable demeanor, making her a delightful companion for families with older kiddos. This bulldog queen is not just about regality; she's a playful soul who revels in the joy of games and companionship, especially with adults.  Sharing food or toys are not her strong suit so small children won't fit into her perfect royal court.  Sasha is clear about her preferences. Despite her love for play, she staunchly opposes the idea of donning costumes. Her royal attire is her natural coat, adorned with the charm of her unique bulldog features. In the vast expanse of her backyard kingdom, Sasha assumes the role of a distinguished grazer, exhibiting a talent that could rival that of a goat. Her leisurely grazing adds a touch of charm to the royal landscape, creating a picturesque scene though leads to a bit of a joker-like mess with clean up later. Sasha's journey to health has been marked by resilience and care. She has undergone soft palate surgery and had her saccules removed, emerging from these medical interventions remarkably healthy. Her well-being is a testament to the attentive care she receives in her temporary castle. As the queen of her realm, Sasha invites those who would appreciate her royal presence to share in the joy of her company. Her castle should be a haven of love, playfulness, and, of course, the regal charm that only a bulldog like Sasha can bring.--Interested adopters would need to travel to the Omaha area with family members including furry friends to meet Sasha.  Her adoption fee is set at $300. ##1952489##

Story
Once upon a time in a cozy little town, there was a big, ol' love bug named Maximus. Maximus wasn't always living the good life. He used to be in a nearby shelter, dreaming of soft beds and snuggly blankets. But one day, a kind family decided to bring Maximus home as a foster. He quickly adapted to the cushy life of a 70lb lap dog. Oh, what a lucky pup he is! Maximus has a few quirks, though. His left eye doesn't produce any tears, and is being treated for an infection. The vet said he might have limited vision in that eye. But fear not, because his right eye is a tear-producing superstar! There were also tales of Maximus having multiple, chronic ear infections in the past. His ear canals are quite tight, and he needs some special care. His foster mom is on the case, keeping a close eye on those ears and giving them regular cleanings. Maximus, being a white bulldog, had a unique superpower – he is deaf, but he wasn't letting that stop him. With his foster family, he's learning the magical language of signs. Now, let's talk about some bulldog maintenance secrets. Maximus has a wrinkle infection that needed some clearing up. His foster mom saves the day again with magical potions and making sure he gets occasional tushie wipes to keep everything clean and shiny. Maximus has some random skin tags and growths that his friends fondly called his decorations. No worries, though – the experts weren't concerned. Maximus is a social butterfly too! He gets along great with bulldogs, Frenchies, Boston/English mixes, and even a cool cat in his foster home. His size means his forever family needs to be a little careful, especially if there are smaller kiddos around who could accidentally be toppled over by this big, ol' handsome boy. Maximus is looking for the purrfect family to help him live happily ever after, surrounded by love, warmth, and a bunch of friends. ##1952595##

Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Where do we even start with Harvey’s story? How about where it all began: out in rural Nebraska where he was found wandering late last summer. The beautiful people who found him couldn’t bear the thought of leaving him there, looking so very sad (see one of his very first pictures with them on the left). Though they already had four dogs, they knew he desperately needed help. Tincture of time, some trips to the vet (no chip), TLC and good food bring you to the Harvey in January (top right). When they initially reached out to us, they were unsure if he was deaf or just had tight canals from untreated infections. They mentioned he seemed to be blind in one eye (it has a sunken appearance) and the vet wondered if the damage had been caused by a beating. They got him from emaciated stray to the 60lb comfy as a clam pup you see in the final picture in his foster home. Harvey resource guards his food; we can’t fault him for that given how VERY skinny he was. Harvey recently began having seizures. His initial bloodwork at there vet looked ok but we have a lot of work to do with PAH to see if we can narrow down the root cause: head trauma? Lab abnormality? Epilepsy? More to come as he settles in with experienced fosters and meets the team at Papillion Animal Hospital. For now, we are grateful to the dog lovers who found him, nourished his belly and his spirits and then directed him to The Good Life! 3/13/24: Harvey is the sweetest gentleman that just wants to hang out. He is more than content making sure furniture doesn't run away. Hes an older guy who is just content relaxing with people or enjoying a nice calm hang. He enjoys walks or wandering the back yard to get fresh air and all the smells. He is by far the most mild mannered bully I have ever come across. Never worked up and just doesnt care. However, you get a big energy perk the moment he sees you grab his food bowl or hears the bag open. Just fine with all dogs and animals, usually just ignores them and finds his comfy spot. ##1969128##
