Nyla is a friendly, well-mannered girl with the people she knows and trusts. She is fearful and growly around new people and new situations, but once she is comfortable, she's a doll. She's a pleasure to walk and loves to play with her toys. She's smart too! Nyla knows many commands like "sit", "down", "watch", "touch", "paw", and "leave it". When it comes to her food, she does not like to share so she'll guard her bowl and her humans should respect that. Nyla is reactive when she is in close proximity to other animals and her new owner needs to be very mindful of that. Nyla would need a dog-experienced owner and an adult-only home with no other pets. Marley is near and dear to our hearts. This handsome, friendly, social boy has been at the shelter for more than 3 years. Some dogs suffer from such a long stay in a kennel environment but, though Marley deserves so much more, he's actually improved so much from the time he's spent with staff and volunteers. He has learned to walk better on leash and he's become more bonded and attentive to his human companions. He would do best in a dog-experienced adult household that's willing to further teach him manners. This is Dipper! He is a 7 year old American Staffordshire mix. My husband and I adopted Dipper when he was 2 and he has been a great addition to our family. Unfortunately he is not good with small children and we recently had a child. Dipper can be reactive in high energy situations and around unfamiliar faces. He is an active and healthy dog who loves to snuggle! He loves toys and running around in our yard, however we used to live in a town house and is used to being walked on a leash. Dipper is fine around other dogs as long as the dog is not aggressive toward him, and I am unsure how he is with cats as we do not have any cats. Dipper is house trained, crate trained, and muzzle trained. We have also had Dipper evaluated by a professional trainer to help us with his relativity which did help. Dipper is a very easy to manage pet, he just unfortunately cannot be around children.
