Story
Butkus is a special dude and he's looking for a home that is equally as special. This quiet boy is easy to walk on leash and has endearing qualities. While he has been around others dogs, he'll do best in a home without a canine companion because Butkus doesn't like to share his stuff with other dogs. He's a bit wary of men and needs an experienced dog person to adopt him. With the right home, this boy is going to be a lovely companion. Hamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot offer any guarantees on the age, health, temperament, personality or mental disposition of any pet. Hamilton Township Animal Shelter cannot and does not represent, warrant, promise, or guarantee how the adopted pet will interact or react to the new home environment.

Story
Leia is available for adoption and ready to steal your heart! This sweet momma was found as a stray in town and was brought in by animal control. She was covered in a staph infection which is healing beautifully, but she was also emaciated and lactating. Unfortunately she was likely bred and given away when her puppies no longer needed her, but we know she deserved better. She is short, but thick, and weighs about 50lbs. Leia has been a dream meeting humans and has been a go-to adoption event start. She has the best expressions and the sweetest eyes. She was reactive in the beginning of her stay with us regarding other dogs, but has since settled down now that she understands the routine. She has been in playgroup with other dogs and done very well. Some introductions take a few more minutes than others when it comes to other dogs, but generally she has been wonderful. Adoption by appointment only with an approved adoption application. Please go to www.easelnj.org/adopt to submit an adoption application. Someone will be in touch within 48 hours.

Story
Flash is 9 weeks old and the last puppy of his litter   The whole litter was awesome but flash is such a good boy. He is so smart and picks up on things in a "flash".   He loves to snuggle and his tail wags non stop.  He is the happiest and sweetest puppy. We have no idea what breed they are because mommy was hit and killed by a car after they were born and we only have one picture of her.  We do not know what dad is either.   We have also included a picture of mom so you can see she was not a big girl.  if you are looking for the sweetest and cuddliest puppy, then don't look any further.   He has been around dogs of all sizes and cats too.  He has not met a person he does not love and he is not a nippy puppy.  Go to bcaaofnj.org and fill out an application Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Do not let the gray hair fool you. This mature looking handsome boy named Pappy is so full of life. Pappy found himself at the shelter sadly after being dumped at our front door. We do not have much information on him because of these circumstances. He has been with us for several weeks under medical care for poor skin and bronchitis. He has bounced back and been cleared for adoption. Since he has been with us, he has learned to sit and give paw. His knowledge of commands continues to grow. He appears to be house broken because he keeps him room very clean. With no history we are unsure how he will do with dogs, cats, and small kids. If you are looking to find the hidden gem, please click on Pappy's link for an application.

This beefy boy is Hero. Hero has some training and knows several commands. He loves toys and will retrieve them and drop them on command. He knows sit, down, paw and leave it. He takes treats gently When you remind him. If you don't remind him, it's a bit rough on the fingers. He needs leash manner but is extremely treat motivated and eager to please. Due to his high energy, he wouldn't be good in a home with small kids.

Story
Bishop is the epitome of "a dog is a man's best friend". He has an attentive disposition...looks for direction and wants to be praised and loved. He wants to please you. He is happy just to be near you. He is playful when you want him to be. He is ready to chill on the couch when you are ready! Bishop came to us from a shelter that was packed...over packed, really. And he was one of the residents brought in as a stray and there the longest. That meant he was on the next days list for being euthanized. When I saw his sweet video that was sent to us asking for the "favor of a rescue for this worthy dog" we knew exactly what we had to do. And rescued he was! That was in August....and let me tell you about how rescued dogs like Bishop are all still waiting for someone to notice them. To care for them. To WANT them! The shelters are full, the rescues are full and competition for "ordinary looking" dogs is overwhelming. They are just another of the faces people shuffle through while looking for unique! They are hoping for you to READ about them and GET TO KNOW THEM, not just select them based on looks! And so they wait...and they wait....and they continue to wait. Bishop is FULL OF LOVE AND KISSES....and my heart is just hurting for him. NO ONE has asked for him or shown any interest in him. Could it be that he's just like every other mix you see abandoned? READ ON.....cause he's different. He comes to you with a full training program and lifetime consult for his owner. So, as Bishop waited we watched a SMART sensitive dog become bored and restless while he waited in boarding. And we knew for him to have his best chance at adoption he needed to be ABOVE the competition. He needed to look different. He needed to BE different. WELCOME to our Bishop's Program. Currently he is inboard training with Jeff Coltenback. He will learn to be the best dog that he can be. You can learn about his trainer online at: http://www.jeffcoltenback.com/about-jeff-coltenback.html In the mean time- CHECK HIM OUT to see videos of his progress and learn all about this UNIQUE DOG! He has his very own public Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090316103635 "A rescue's journey- Meet Bishop" Bishop comes to you fully vetted, current on all vaccines, microchipped and neutered. He is heart worm negative. He's around 50-55lbs. Our trainer said we can't figure out his breed mix. Maybe a little shepherd, shar pei, lab, little pit but he plays like a boxer- very "handsy"

Story
I am fostering a pit bull for a friend. My friend coworker who is looking to re home her Pit Bull. He is 6 years old. He is up to date with the veterinarian, crate trained, good with children and other dogs! She will provide all of his belongings and there is no rehome fee. Just looking for a loving home for him. The only reason this needs to happen is because she is going through a major life change. She is heart broken but has no other choice. Please message me if you’re interested.
