Story
Jayce has had a rough start, but you would not know it when you meet him. He lived his life on a chain, he almost lost his life after being attacked by another dog which is when he came into our care. Jayce went from living on a chain, to a kennel for a few months and now he has freedom and he LOVES it!! He enjoys finding a cool place to rest, he ABSOLUTELY loves toys! He is often found with a toy in his mouth, he tosses them and entertains himself. He enjoys a leisurely walk and then is ready for more relaxing. Jayce may seem intimidating with his deep bass bark, but he will wag his tail along with his whole body just as quickly once he sees you. He is an enthusiastic and affectionate boy. Jayce gets along well with female dogs (as long as they aren't overly dominant). He is a pretty laid back guy that is just so happy to be in the moment. He could stand to learn not to jump when excited but otherwise he is a perfect gentleman. Jayce has been waiting to go home for 8 months for someone to pick him. He is a solid guy, weighing around 60 lbs. His ideal family would be one without small children as he has not had the opportunity to meet them. **************PLEASE READ THIS FOR NEXT STEPS**************** COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. Story
Chester, 2 years old, neutered male, Staffordshire Terrier mix, 56 pounds. He is currently fostered in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS and is able to transport once an adopter is approved. Please note our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. Chester is one happy, affectionate boy whose tail never stops wagging (seriously—it sometimes spins like a little propeller!). He’s an all-around good boy who loves dogs of all sizes and genders and plays beautifully with them. Whether it’s a good game of tug-of-war or just hanging out, Chester enjoys canine company and would love a dog friend in his new home—but he’d do just fine soaking up the love as a solo pup, too. He has met small kids and is really great with them. We want to note he does not currently live in a home with children. We have no history with cats. Chester is fully potty-trained and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate. He understands “kennel” and settles in without a fuss. He’s still learning a few house manners (like not helping himself to snacks on the counter when no one’s watching), but he’s a smart learner and already picking things up quickly. On leash, Chester likes to wander and zig-zag as he explores the world. He’ll pull occasionally—especially when he spots someone he wants to say hi to—but he’s not a harsh puller. He’s very people-friendly, though sometimes he’ll bark at strangers for reasons only he knows. A little continued leash work and social exposure will help him refine those manners. He's not had any reactions to other dogs on leash. This guy is affectionate and loves to be close. If you stop petting him, you might find him nudging your arm with his head asking for more! He knows “paw” and will politely offer it when you reach toward him. Chester has a moderate energy level—he’s playful in the mornings and evenings but relaxed during the day. He’d be happy in a home with regular walks and plenty of affection. He rides in the car but still finds it a bit exciting (or maybe confusing!) and tends to pace and whine, so some continued car training will help. His foster says Chester is one of the happiest dogs they’ve met: always cheerful, loving, and eager to please. He’s looking for a home that will keep working on his manners, provide companionship, and appreciate his big, silly, affectionate heart. If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly, goofy pup who will make you smile every day—Chester’s your guy! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Adoption Fee: $475 Interested in applying to adopt him? Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Luther, 10 months old (DOB May 2025), neutered male, Staffordshire Terrier mix, 55 pounds. He will likely continue to grow as he's not reached adulthood. He is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport to an adopter once approved. Luther is a sweet, silly, high-energy pup with a heart full of love and a personality that will keep you smiling. With his bouncy floppy ears and playful spirit, he’s ready to find a forever home that will enjoy both his zoomies and his snuggles. Dog Manners & Play Style Luther has a high-energy play style and loves a good chase. He happily allows other dogs to sniff him and will even roll onto his back in a submissive gesture if he meets a more dominant dog. After that, the zoomies kick in, and then he settles into regular, respectful play. He seems to recognize when another dog is finished playing and will happily come seek attention from his humans instead. He walks great on leash with another dog. He currently shares a home with a dog about his size. He has interacted with a medium-sized dog (about 65 lbs) and showed no aggression or pushiness when meeting. He mostly stands calmly while being sniffed. On leash, he can be somewhat barky when seeing other dogs, but he walks beautifully side-by-side with a canine companion and this is something that can continue to improve with training. Cats Luther has not yet been exposed to cats. Kids He has not lived with children, but he is curious and enjoys playing fetch and tug, which would make him a great match for older kids. Because he can throw his weight around during play, he would likely do best in a home with children 10+. House & Crate Training He is house-trained and has not had any accidents since his first day in foster care. He sleeps in his crate and, while he may protest briefly at first, he settles within a few minutes. When left alone (up to two hours), he typically just naps. He isn’t ready to be left loose in the house yet, as he’s still learning what is and isn’t a toy. Food & Toys No resource guarding here. Luther eats comfortably around other dogs and shows no possessiveness over toys, treats, or food — even when hand-fed. Energy Level & Home Needs Luther has that fun, happy puppy energy. He loves fetch and tug and will play with any toy he can find. A mile walk or 10 minutes of fetch is usually enough to help him settle nicely. While he would thrive in an active home, he also understands how to relax once his exercise needs are met. He does not require another dog in the home — in fact, he seems to prefer human interaction and bonding time with his people. However, given his young age we would ask how you plan to socialize him if no other dogs in the home. Personality Outgoing | Curious | Playful | Smart | Silly | Affectionate Luther seeks attention, loves pets, and will happily give plenty of kisses. He enjoys being close to his human and absolutely melts for belly scratches. When meeting strangers, he may pancake and act a little skittish at first, but he warms up quickly with gentle reassurance. In the car, he’s still learning confidence getting in and out, but once inside he enjoys looking out the window and settles nicely if his bed is with him. Fun Facts • His floppy ears bounce adorably on walks. • He hasn’t quite figured out how long his legs are yet, which makes fetch extra entertaining. • He loves belly scratches. Ideal Home Luther would do well in many types of homes — apartment or house — as long as he receives regular exercise and continued guidance. A backyard would be a bonus for zoomies, but daily walks and playtime are just as great. He doesn’t mind if he’s the only dog or has canine siblings, but he’ll always choose his humans first. Luther is a very sweet, very smart boy who settles beautifully after playtime and is eager to learn. With a little continued training and a lot of love, he’s going to make an incredible companion. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. Cally, 3.5 years old, spayed female, Pitbull mix, 40 pounds. She is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas and will be able to transport once an adopter is approved. Cally is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky girl with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. She’s playful, affectionate, curious, and endlessly kind — the type of dog who brings joy and laughter everywhere she goes. Cally loves other dogs of all sizes and plays beautifully with both males and females. She can play for up to two hours nonstop if you let her, and another dog in the home would be an amazing bonus for her — though it’s not required. She’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as an only dog, as long as she gets plenty of playtime and activity. She is excellent with kids, both small and big, and is always gentle and friendly. She’s also very welcoming to strangers and enjoys meeting new people. On leash, Cally may pull at the beginning out of excitement, but once she settles in, she calms down and walks much better. Continued leash training will help her shine even more. Cally is fully crate trained, house trained, and does great in a car kennel. She sleeps quietly through the night and can nap during the day as long as she’s had potty breaks and at least an hour of play. While she is house trained, she is still learning how to have full freedom indoors and needs supervision until she’s more reliable — otherwise she may help herself to shoes or blankets (especially fluffy ones!). She does not have separation anxiety. When left in her crate while you run errands, she’s usually fast asleep when you return. She does best sleeping alone in her crate — if left loose or crated with another dog, she may get a little mischievous. At mealtime, Cally needs to be separated from other dogs. She has made great progress with food-related resource guarding and does not guard food from humans at all, but she is uncomfortable eating near other dogs or when other dogs are eating nearby. Feeding her in her crate works beautifully and keeps everyone stress-free. She does not guard toys or treats. Cally loves toys and enrichment and can entertain herself with them for long periods. She’s very food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding — if food is involved, she’s all in. One of her most charming traits? When she’s getting affection, she gives the biggest, silliest smile that will absolutely make your day. She’s also a world-class cuddler — you’ll likely have to tell her when cuddle time is over. If invited onto the couch, she’s on her very best behavior because she doesn’t want to lose her spot. And every now and then, she gets spontaneous zoomies and runs so fast she looks like a baby goat flying through the house 😂. Cally doesn’t need much to thrive — just: Daily playtime and chances to run (at least twice a day) A crate she can decompress in Plenty of toys A person or family willing to keep up with her energy and continue her training With structure, exercise, and love, Cally is an incredible companion. Whether she joins a home with another playful dog or becomes the center of someone’s world, she’s ready to give her whole heart. If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate, high-energy dog who will make you laugh every single day, Cally is ready to meet you. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
