Story
I’m Gatlin, a beautiful brindle American Staffordshire terrier mix who would love to have a forever home for my senior years. (I’m Gatty or Gatty-girl to my friends at the Humane Society of York County.)I came to HSYC from York County Animal Services. My estimated birth date is September 2013, and I’m about 55 pounds.Though I’m a senior citizen, I’m an active, strong girl who loves playtime in the yard at the rescue. I particularly love squeaky balls and am adept at taking them apart! I also enjoy my daily walks, which help me get out my energy and enjoy time outdoors with my human friends.I’m selective about the people I want to spend time with – if I love a person, I really, really love them. The same is true if I don’t. I’m a very smart girl and I read people very well!As much as I love to play with a ball in the yard, I would much rather spend quality time with the many people I love. I need to be the only pet in my forever home, and no small children. A dog-savvy person or family that is willing to give me time to adjust is important – time for us to connect and build trust. If you have the calm, stable home I’m craving, please call to meet me!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
This not so little nugget is Yosemite Sam. Yosemite was adopted last season from Mama Lola's Looney Tunes litter.  Yosemite's about 10 months old now and is looking for a new forever family. Here's the basics: *We've had him in to our vet for a complete checkup.  *He's fully vetted, neutered and up to date on all vaccines.  *Our trainer has been out to visit and was impressed with the level of training that he's had already. Yosemite Sam is house trained, crate trained, and a dream on leash. He's a super smart very good boy who is attentive to his person and enjoys learning new things. He's been living in his current home since adoption and has done very well with general house & people manners. Yosemite's about 65ish pounds and has ears for DAYS! Though still technically a puppy, he's the best of both worlds. He's young, healthy, and loves to play, but he's done with the potty training, crate training, and most importantly - the teething. He lives with another dog and little human kiddos, and he would probably be happy just about anywhere. We think his dream home would include walks & a yard to play in, but the rest is negotiable! Yosemite Sam is a super duper good boy and he needs a family that will love him for the rest of his life.  To learn more or to submit an adoption application please visit our website https://www.pitsandgigglesrescue.org/adopt  ##1723063##

Story
Meet Soundy: The Perfect Companion! Soundy is a lovable, 2-year-old, 37-pound bundle of joy who loves car rides and fits in seamlessly with other dogs. He is fostered with four other dogs and has shown an incredible ability to read their body language and adapt to their energy. Soundy also shares his foster home with two children, and he has proven to be a great companion to them as well. Whether it’s playing with toys or engaging in fun playtime with his doggy friends, Soundy is always up for some action! Soundy walks well on a leash, takes treats gently, is house & crate trained (he may whine for a minute but then settles down quickly), sleeps through the night & indicates when he needs to go out. With his velvety soft coat, big soulful eyes, and his unforgettable heart-shaped nose, Soundy is sure to steal your heart. If you’re looking for a cuddly, well-mannered dog who is ready to be a loyal family member, Soundy would make an amazing addition to your home! Story
Meet Faron, the newest member of the tripod community.  Faron, an American Staffordshire Terrier mix, is 5 ½ years and currently around 50 pounds but is still gaining weight and should be around 60 pounds. We are not sure why Faron was found on his own, as he is a great dog – gets along with other dogs, crates and house trained and we know he is wonderful with kids, as we were able to verify, he grew up with them. We are not for sure how long Faron was on his own, but during that time we know he was injured and sadly had to have one of back legs removed.  However, Faron has not let the loss of his leg hold him back as he loves to get out and when he sees a leash he gets all excited but needs help with pulling If you are interested in adopting Faron, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age. **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **January 21, 2025, 2:59 pm
