Story
Available in TX only! Granger, a 54-pound young adult rescue dog, embodies a unique blend of traits that make him an endearing companion. Initially cautious around strangers, he blossoms into a loyal and affectionate friend once he establishes trust. His wide-set, beautiful eyes are a distinctive feature, complemented by charmingly bow-legged stature reminiscent of a bulldog. Granger thrives in the company of other dogs, eagerly seeking opportunities to snuggle and play with his furry pals. His social nature extends to adoring kids, showcasing gentle and amiable behavior around them. A testament to his adaptability, Granger is both kennel and potty trained, demonstrating discipline and understanding of boundaries. While initially uneasy with car rides, he is gradually becoming more comfortable, displaying resilience and openness to new experiences. Granger came into rescue with frequent upper respiratory infections. Extensive medical testing was done and it was discovered that he has a fungus that infiltrated his lungs and cervical spine. He underwent a vaccine regimen to stop the progression of the fungus. He will require that vaccine annually. Despite his medical condition, he continues to thrive and love life! His gradual acclimatization to car rides mirrors his overall willingness to embrace change and learn. Granger's journey from a hesitant newcomer to a beloved companion reflects his resilient spirit and willingness to form deep connections. In essence, Granger is an amiable, adaptable, and affectionate dog whose gradual warmth towards strangers underscores his loyalty and trustworthiness once he embraces friendship. His love for canine and human companionship, along with his charming features and gentle demeanor, make him a cherished addition to any loving home. Janis Joplin (also known as “Janis” or “JJ") is a classy, loyal, and sweet lady with a rock star name and perfect eyeliner–who is ready for love and to be loved. Janis may come off a little shy at first. With a little time, you will find a loyal, loving, best friend for life. Janis will be your shadow–always nearby with a wagging tail, beautiful smile, and heart full of love. She is a true love and snuggle bug. What Janis loves/enjoys: being by your side. She’s the perfect companion in the car, kitchen, yard, on the couch and bed, by the pool… (If you wish, Janis will follow you into the bathroom or when it’s time to take out the trash, too.) Janis enjoys slow strolls where she can sniff and explore. She loves naps and daydreaming–especially when you are near. What Janis knows: her skills, such as sit, drop, down, place… and she is always up for learning more. Janis is potty-trained. She is smart and tunes into her environment well. Janis Joplin’s background: She was adopted as an APA! puppy and spent six years in a home until life changed for her person. Janis has lived with cats before. She’s non-reactive to dogs, and could do well with the right dog buddy in a calm home. Janis Joplin is calm, patient, alert, and affectionate. She would thrive in a loving home where she is doted on and feels understood. If you are looking for a loyal companion who will love you wholeheartedly, please inquire about Janis Joplin (A-65653).

Scotty is a big boy with a heart of gold! Scotty is a young dog who loves to play, and has great manners with his toys. Scotty loves to learn and he loves food (as you can tell by his un-athletic figure) He knows sit, down, place, come when called, and more! He has worked really hard on his manners and is always eager to learn new things. Some have even said he's the best trained dog in the shelter! Scotty is a cuddler, and very affectionate with his people. Scotty would do best in a low traffic home with older kids due to his energy level and size and he can live with a well matched dog. Come visit Scotty today! You won't regret it!
