Story
Meet Isabell, also known as Quinn by her loving foster mom. Isabell is in foster after being in the shelter long enough to end up on the euthanasia list. But her foster family stepped in and saved her. They could not resist her sweet face and loving eyes and fostered her just in time. Isabell's best friend is her foster mom, Jayne. But she also loves her squeaky toys and tennis balls and if often playing with them alone having the best of time. Isabell is potty trained and staying alone at her foster mom's home without needing a crate. She just takes a nap while they are away and is such a good girl. They leave her for 1-2 hours without any issues. Isabell has learned to sit and does well on a leash. She will pull a little when she sees dogs or squirrels. So, her new home will want to continue to work on her leash skills. Isabell also enjoys car rides and is pretty much always ready to go. Isabell is a great house guest and doesn't jump on the furniture and will take naps or play fetch. She loves to put her head on your knees and get attention but if you're busy and running around she'll just lay down and nap, which is nice. As you can see in the pictures, Isabell is the queen of head tilts and cocks her head just so to listen closer. Isabell has met many of the neighborhood dogs and kids around the neighborhood & just loves them. Her foster mom says she is just the perfect dog. Isabell would love a home where she could play with her toys and run around in the yard. She enjoys going for walks and would love a walking partner. Isabell has come to love the smaller pup she's living with in foster care & they have become fast pals. Isabell has met children ages 8- and 10-year-old and done very well. Isabel has learned how to sit on command and learning how to be a great leash walker. All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday). We only adopt in the USA. We are open to adopting in other states, except in Massachusetts. There are quarantine laws for MA and until these laws change, we are not able to adopt into MA.

Story
Meet Max the Meatball, also known as "Squishy" by his foster family! This adorable pup is a lover of snorting and sleeping on his back, which he does most of the time. His best friend is a white 1.5-year-old pup named Ollie, but he also gets along famously with his foster family's five other dogs. While Max is still working on his house and crate training, he's getting the hang of it and loves playing with toys that he can destroy. Max also sits in the splits, we don't know why, but we don't care since it makes us all laugh with delight. Max has never been exposed to children before, but he's the perfect size for one! Although he's not a big fan of car rides, he's a social butterfly who loves running around and pretending to play with the big dogs. However, when they pay attention to him, he comes running back to his foster family to sit by their side. Despite his lack of training, Max knows the command "sit" and would love to learn more tricks. He hasn't been on a leash yet, but he's looking forward to exploring the world outside with his forever family. Speaking of which, Max's ideal home would have a yard for him to run around in and very little steps for him to climb, since he needs a little momentum to get going. But let's be honest, the best thing about Max is how he looks. With his rolly-polly physique, he's just like a meatball! And when you look at him, he seems to say, "Yeah, I skipped leg day at the gym. But it's worth it to be this cute!" All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. Needs experienced adopter,
Story
Rocky is a Feb 14th lover baby! He’s 3 years old, he loves to snuggle, head/nose bridge rubs and hard booty pats. He loves his teeth treats and knows the word “brush your teeth” when I’m getting ready to give him one. Since he was 9 weeks old he’s always been around cats and another dog, smaller size. We never had issues with him when it came to being friendly. He loves kids and enjoys throwing his toys in the air and playing keep away. Recently though, and the reason why we are rehoming is because he’s attacked the smaller dogs multiple times and I’ve tried to train him to correct it. I’ve done 1 on 1 training, online training, and muzzle training but he’s still growling and trying to attack every chance he gets. He started recently growling from the kennel at the cats when they would pass by him. I live in small apt and it’s starting to become a safety issue now. He’s a great dog, he needs a home by himself & getting all the love and attention he deserves.

Story
Derby is simply AMAZING and completely full of love! He has excellent manners in the house and catches on to a routine fast. Derby is young so he does have some energy to burn. He absolutely loves fetching tennis balls, going on walks (he responds to commands well) and playing in water from the water hose. This sweet boy might be a bit shy at first, but just give him a few minutes and he'll warm up. Derby does great with kids, appears indifferent to cats and has yet to meet another dog he didn't like. If you're looking for a fun, active and loyal dog, Derby is the boy for you!I am currently in a foster home and not at HSNBA, if you are interested in meeting me, please contact the nice folks at HSNBA so they can put you in contact with my foster family to set up a meet & greet. E-mail HSNBA at adoption@hsnba.org, call us at: (830) 629-5287 or stop by and speak with the folks at HSNBA at 3353 Morningside Dr. to get your information sent over to my foster home. My foster family is the best and can give you more information on me.HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Some of these animals may not be available for adoption at this moment, but you can always call the shelter at 830-629-5287 for clarification on the adoption process or the animal's current status.

Story
Magnificent is a stunning 3-year-old Am Staff/Bulldog mix who is looking for his forever home. He originally came to the shelter with another dog, but unfortunately, he was adopted and returned through no fault of his own. Now he is waiting patiently for someone to give him a third chance at a happy life.Magnificent has a unique personality that is both charming and challenging. He is great with big dogs, but he can be wary of small dogs, so he would do best as the only dog in his new home or with a larger dog he interacts well with. When interacting with other dogs, he tends to push boundaries but will eventually respect them with time and patience. While Magnificent is a sweet and loving dog, he can be a bit rough around the edges and may not be suitable for families with young children. He has a lot of energy and loves to play, especially in water, so a home with a yard or access to a park would be ideal for him.Despite his lively nature, Magnificent is already housebroken and good on a leash, which is a testament to his intelligence and trainability. He also knows some basic commands, which will make it easier for his new family to communicate with him and help him settle in.Overall, Magnificent is a loyal and affectionate dog who is looking for a loving and understanding home. He has been through a lot in his young life, but he is still full of love and potential. If you are looking for a fun-loving and energetic companion, Magnificent may be just the dog you have been looking for.
