Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Has yet to have an accident in his foster home Bo is a sweet, playful pup rescued from a hoarding situation. He's a bit cautious with new things but warms up quickly with reassurance. Kids are one of the new experiences he’s learning about—though they confuse him at first, he’s curious and will likely grow to love them as he becomes more comfortable. Story
Are you looking to have your dog skills and experience challenged? Do you have the patience of a saint? Then Mighty is ready to test you. Seriously, he’s an 8.6 magnitude earthquake in a city without building codes. He is a rainstorm on a herd of Gremlins, after midnight… with a plate of food. For example: 1. Speaking of rainstorms – he hates them. As well as fireworks. Just about any loud, new, or odd noise scares him. He is even afraid of his farts. 2. He has the leash manners like some of those shoppers on Black Friday. You know, where the store is giving away an item to the first 200 guests. He just gets so excited sometimes he feels the need to jump up and grab the leash and walk himself. 3. Mighty has an allergy or several. No chicken for sure and probably no other poultry. Grains make him itchy, and sometimes he gets pink. 4. He’s one of those “blocky headed” dogs… pit balls, pot bois, pibbles, poblanos, whatever. 5. He’s nervous with new people, and he warms up to women quicker than men. Do you know that site with all the dogs who love the UPS guy? Mighty will not likely be making an appearance on that site. Here are some things we also know about Mighty. He completely loves his people. Once you’re in, you’re in for life. He likes to make new people friends, too, and that takes some time and treats… and those are treats without caramel color, because you know, the allergies. He loves attention, training, and showing his set of learned skills. He likes drinking from the hose, being outside with his people, and helping with yard work. If you have sticks, he’ll chew them. If you’re pulling weeds, he’ll shake them and spit them out…mostly. With patience, proper introductions, and some training, Mighty possibly could live with another dog. He previously lived with a female dog and a cat! He has not had the best of experiences with other animals since then, so we tend to err on the side of caution. We’ve loved this guy from the moment we saw him tied to a tree with a note stating, “My name is Mighty, …just tell me it’s OK Needs a good home and lots of love” We’ve come a long way from where he wouldn’t go near the car, wouldn’t go up or down the stairs, and only went outside to do his business. He now, cannot wait for the next car ride and uses the stairs like Rocky. (Except for the basement stairs, they’re still scary.) We’re not going to lie though; his forever home is one in a million. His new home will require experience, management, smarts, time and dedication. As they say, nothing worthwhile comes easy and nothing that comes easy is worthwhile. Mighty is a sweet, playful, loving dog, and is very loyal in his devotion to his people. He has quite a few quirks, but hey, who doesn’t? He has a long life ahead of him, and deserves an active, loving home that will always tell him, it’s OK.

Story
Macie is just a young girl at about 6 months old who had a rough start to life. Macie was found as a stray with an embedded collar that has healed beautifully. She walks with a limp due to an old injury that she sustained around 1-2 months of age that has healed and left her right leg shorter than the others. But that doesn’t slow her down at all! She is such a sweet, kind, goofy girl that is full of love and energy. She LOVES to play with her toys, cuddle, and gives lots of kisses. She is great with kids, other dogs and cats. Shes is a great listener, great in cars, kennel trained and is doing very well with potty training. She is working on her manners but she knows how to sit, lay down, down, and stay. She is happiest when she’s with her family. She does well in the kennel and outside when left alone. A true people-pleaser, Macie is a friendly pup who thrives on attention and love. She is a super mutt, our best guess being a terrier of some kind! She is currently about 20 lbs and we anticipate her to be medium sized full grown. Macie is located in Texas. Her adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip, and spay. If you are interested in adopting Macie please complete the adoption application at the link below. Story
Miss Piggie was found on a back road in the middle of nowhere. Cold, starving and scared Miss Piggie was defensive and barked at everyone that approached her. Luckily an officer reached out to a staff member for help. After many hotdog pieces and talking, Miss Piggie was able to be looped. She was happy to be snuggled in a warm blanket on the way to the shelter. Miss Piggie is still shy and slowly opening up to meeting new people. She will need multiple meetings with her new family. Older kids will be best due to her fearfulness towards strangers. She is also learning that other dogs can be friends. If you think Miss Piggie will be the right fit for you apply today!*Miss Piggie is currently at the shelter. We will not know how her house training will be.

Story
Meet Anita! Age: Golden Oldie (12+ years old) Weight: 42 pounds Good with: Dogs and all humans, but I haven't met any cats just yet! House trained: yes! Crate trained: not needed, I'm a perfect lady. Special needs: I have some vision impairments, so steps aren't really ideal, and my hearing isn't so great anymore either, but I'm pretty much good as gold otherwise! I'm just a lovely lady looking to find her forever people to spend the rest of my days with! I really enjoy being with my humans as much as possible, so if you could take me with you all the places you go, I'd be one happy gal. I enjoy car rides, and I walk well on a leash, so I promise to be on my best behavior on our adventures together. If you must leave me home, I'll voice my displeasure in it, but I promise to settle down and nap while you're away and not get into any trouble. Heck, if you give me a Kong filled with peanut butter, that'll keep me occupied for a while, too! I'm really just looking for some nice humans to let me sleep in bed with them (I can still manage to jump on and off the furniture just fine on my own) and show me a little love here and there. That's not too much to ask, right? I promise to make you laugh and love you right back. With every beat of my heart. Are you ready to make a little space in your heart and home for me? *Anita is being fostered in Plover, WI. Story
I was removed from a neglect situation with another dog so yes life wasn’t really fun and there was obviously not much love. Here I can be a little timid at first but as one of the Canine Care staff members described me, once I am out, I am like a big baby, climbing into your lap and soaking up all the loving and attention I am getting. They are also introducing me to toys and they look fun though I’m still not quite sure what to do with them. I’ll chase them and then run back to the dog walker for some more petting. Guess what, some may have thought I was not good with other dogs but let me tell you something, I am actually doing pretty well some of the doggies in play groups here. We are just having fun like kids would at recess. (Of course, this still means that I may not like every single dog) So if you have a dog, why don’t you bring him in so we can meet and see how we may do together.

Story
Things I love: people, tennis balls, running outside, blankets, rolling in the grass, treats and more. I’m a very handsome guy, always ready to flash you one of my “signature” smiles. While I may be a little shy meeting some new people, a couple of treats is all it takes to become great friends. I am also pretty smart, and ready to learn more. I am very affectionate and a real cuddler. At night, I sleep deeply and snore loudly I’m told. This just means that I had an active day filled with a lot of loving and play time.

Story
My name is Vinnie and I’m 70 pounds of pure love. I love snuggling my foster parents and mom says I’m a bed hog, whatever that is! My favorite activity is going for car rides; I'm an excellent co-pilot and give great directions to the treat store. Since I'm only 4 yrs old, I would love someone who would commit to continuing with my training. I'm an A+ student but since I get very excited around other dogs, I would prefer to be the only dog in the house and have all the lovin's for myself. I know sit, ask to go out for potties, and am working on my leash manners, but I am still fresh out of the shelter, so this is all new to me. My foster mom says it's probably best if I don't live with kiddos under the age of 12 or kitties because I don't know my own size. I dont get it, 70lbs is a perfect size lap dog! Most importantly, I need a forever family to hold my big, squishy face and get lots of kisses. I sure hope I can find you guys soon. XOXO Vinnie
