Baron the mixed breed puppy!'s Story Baron is a 2-month-old male American Staffordshire Terrier puppy who is already winning hearts everywhere he goes. Just before a winter freeze swept through Texas, Baron, his siblings, and their mom were found abandoned outdoors with nowhere safe to go. Thankfully, they were taken into a temporary foster home for the weekend and then brought to the shelter as soon as it reopened after the storm — a decision that likely saved their lives. Now Baron is getting ready for his next big adventure: coming to Wisconsin on February 6th! Like any puppy his age, Baron is curious, sweet, and full of potential. He’s still very young and will need a family ready for puppy basics like training, socialization, and lots of love. In return, Baron promises lifetime loyalty, goofy moments, and the chance to watch him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. He’s starting fresh — and hoping his forever family is waiting on the other side of the journey. He is working hard on potty training in Texas, however his new family should be prepared to do additional training while he learns the routine at his new home in WI. He is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with his medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies him to be in good condition. He will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday, February 6th, and will be available to meet, and take home if he is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below. His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. He is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption on Friday February 6th. If upon meeting, he is not a good fit for your family, the deposit is refundable. We ask that you are serious about your intent to adopt before placing a deposit, so as not to prevent him from finding his forever family in the meantime, as we only accept one deposit per dog. Meet Slate! Slate is a 4 year old American Staffordshire/pit mix. Slate is neutered and weighs approximately 47lb. Slate LOVES people, walks, and food. He wants to meet every person he sees. He is very food motivated and loves cuddles especially when it's cold outside. Slate knows basic commands and is house trained. He is not crated when his owners leave the house. He just hangs out on the couch. He hasn't had any accidents nor does he chew things he's not supposed to. Slate is a very good boy but has become increasingly uncomfortable around his owner's newly mobile toddler. He will growl when she gets near him. He has not bitten nor tried to but is clearly uncomfortable and needs to be in a situation where he is not around young children. Slate has a dog sister who he loves very much. He would do best in a home with young adults/adults only. Please contact with any questions!

Beatrice the mixed breed puppy!'s Story Beatrice is a 2-month-old female American Staffordshire Terrier puppy with a soft expression and a heart full of promise. She and her siblings were found abandoned outdoors in Texas just before a winter freeze moved through the area. Meet Trey! The perfectly pocket sized pittie whose only flaw is his inability to keep his tongue in his mouth. Don’t let Trey’s age fool you, this guy has plenty of energy and is ready to run straight into your heart. Trey is an adventurous, curious guy who’s also down to curl up on the couch for a nap. Trey loves every person and every dog he’s ever encountered and would appreciate being a part of a pack, especially of larger dogs he can chase around a yard and cuddle puddle with. He knows no strangers and his love knows no bounds. Trey has been through a lot over the years. In his original intake at FOR he was suffering from gunshot wounds and 2 broken legs. And yet, after that and his family relocating, he is still so trusting and gentle. You may see evidence of his hard past in the way he flinches when he doesn’t see your hand coming, but his healing is evident in how quickly he melts into the pets afterwards. Trey knows basic commands and is fully housetrained. He is around 60 lbs and believed to be around 9 years old. He is fully vaccinated, on monthly flea & tick prevention, and recently underwent treatment for heartworms. He is fostered in Huntsville, AL, and is available for meet & greets there, if adopted from outside the area his foster has agreed to travel up to 200 miles for transport at no charge to the adopter. Trey has not been tested with cats, and will only be placed in a home with adults and older children (no babies or toddlers).
