Story
Meet Cookie! This 75-pound bundle of joy is a goofy, affectionate sweetheart who absolutely adores people. Cookie loves to snuggle and thrives on attention. While she can be a bit selective with other dogs—especially on leash—she does well with slow, proper introductions. Cookie is smart, knows a variety of commands, is fully house-trained, and highly food motivated (which makes training a breeze!). Because of her size and energy, she’d do best in a home without small children, though dog-savvy kids aged 10 and up would be just fine. Cookie is full of life and ready to join you on all your adventures!

Story
Hank is a big beautiful 1 yr old boy that is fully/professionally trained. House trained (no accidents in over 6 months), crate trained (not a peep overnight for 9 hours even when my kids wake us up in the middle of the night), leash trained (amazing walker/ trained not to pull), well behaved in the car, loves going new places and meeting new people, takes treats gently. Hank is a mixed guardian shepherd breed and needs lots of exercise. If you have a big yard (which is needed for Hank), no need for a ball or frisbee, he will sprint around for hours by himself protecting your yard. He doesn't get along with our other male dog (8 year old lab) so we have to separate them. This is extremely difficult logistically with two other dogs and two young kids. His ideal home would have a large fenced yard and no other dogs.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog I:6Hilton – the Sweet, Gentle Giant Hilton is a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix who truly embodies the phrase gentle giant. At 95 pounds, he’s impressively easy to handle—sweet, mellow, and full of soft, silly smiles paired with gentle tail wags. Lovely leash manners: Walks calmly with very little pulling, often staying right by your side. Affectionate and connected: Loves being petted and will gently lean into you. He’s happy to rest his big head in your lap for some quiet closeness, when you sit next to him. Food-motivated and polite: Very interested in treats and takes them gently. May get a little bouncy when excited, but is easily redirected. Dog-social: Attends doggie playgroup and enjoys intermittent, gentle play with other dogs. Hilton would thrive in a home with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with social canine friends. A calm, loving companion who brings both size and sweetness to the table.February 3, 2026, 9:28 pm
