Story
Hi, I’m Tracie and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Tracie Location: Plano, IL Date of Birth: 06/01/2024 Gender: Female Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Color: White / Black Dog's Weight: 85 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  All Cats Kids?: All kids Other?: Horses Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Meet Tracie Tracie’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her heart remains incredibly soft. She spent several months as a stray in Tennessee, lovingly looked after by kind community members before a family was able to bring her inside as a temporary foster. From there, she made her way to Just Giants—and we are so grateful she did. Tracie is the true definition of a gentle giant. When you approach her, she immediately lays down and sweetly offers her belly for rubs. She is extremely docile, calm, and polite. Tracie waits patiently until she’s invited onto the couch and is just as content lying nearby, quietly keeping you company. She enjoys cuddling but never demands attention, making her a wonderfully respectful companion. Tracie is still finding her confidence and tends to try to stay out of the way, but with time, patience, and love, we believe her personality will continue to blossom. She wants to be part of the family—she just needs reassurance that she belongs. Tracie will be an excellent match for a first-time giant breed owner. Her gentle, easygoing demeanor makes her a joy to have around. She is well-suited for families with children of all ages thanks to her calm and tolerant nature. While she will do fine with other dogs, she does not require a canine companion to thrive—human love is more than enough for this sweet girl. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key, affectionate dog who will quietly steal your heart, Tracie may be the perfect addition to your family. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. All approved applications are good for 12 months. Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters. Story
Chloe is a 2&#226&#128&#145year&#226&#128&#145old spayed Anatolian Shepherd Mix with a heart as big as her 85&#226&#128&#145pound frame! This sweet girl is slowly coming out of her shell and showing off her silly, playful personality. She loves her people and will happily follow you around the house, always wanting to be part of the action. Chloe is equal parts affectionate and goofy — she’ll make you laugh with her awkward zoomies and melt your heart when she leans in for cuddles. She does bark and whine to communicate, so she’s best suited for a family who can be patient as she continues to build her confidence. Chloe is still learning how to walk nicely on a leash and will need some guidance with basic manners. She’s also not a fan of being crated, so a home where she can have a safe space outside of a crate would be ideal. Because of her size and clumsy play style, Chloe needs a home without small children. She’ll thrive with adults or older kids who understand big, enthusiastic dogs. With love, patience, and a little training, Chloe will reward her new family with endless loyalty and goofy joy. If you’re ready for a sweet, lovable giant who will adore you unconditionally, Chloe is your girl!   If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 27, 2025, 8:58 am

Story
This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 110 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up to date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence, and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides. Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! If you would like to be Charlie’s forever family, please email dogs4mylife@ gmail.com or olmc7@ hotmail.com. If you are inquiring from a Gmail address. It is best to use our Gmail address, or you might have to look for us in your spam.

Hi, I’m Finn and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Finn Location: Belleville, IL. Date of Birth: 02/07/2025 Gender: Male Breed: English Mastiff Color: Fawn / Black Dog's Weight: 89 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  All Cats  Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Finn! Finn is a very sweet, affectionate boy who is learning to build his confidence and discovering just how wonderful the world can be. He’s a champion snuggler, a professional kiss-giver, and an all-around gentle soul who truly loves being loved. Finn gets along beautifully with other dogs and is very respectful when meeting them—he’ll politely sniff and wait to see how they feel before engaging. He’s curious about cats and would love to play, but when they hiss he simply runs away, showing just how soft-hearted he really is. He walks well on a leash and surprised everyone by walking right into his kennel on his own as soon as he got home. Finn is still learning about toys and bones, but he’s already discovered that peanut butter and treats are excellent life choices. He understands “no” and, aside from the occasional zoomies (complete with happy barks and playful running), he’s a very calm and easygoing guy. Finn is wonderful with kids of all ages. He met an 8-year-old at PetSmart and was completely unfazed by repeated pets, greeting her gently with sniffs. With toddlers and even babies, Finn was incredibly soft and appropriate—sniffing calmly and even offering a sweet little kiss. He’s affectionate and loves attention, but he’s also comfortable doing his own thing when the mood strikes, making him a nice balance of cuddly and independent. Finn will thrive in just about any loving home. He would be a great choice for a first-time giant breed owner thanks to his gentle temperament and easygoing nature. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, he doesn’t need a canine companion to be happy. A fenced yard is not required—what Finn truly needs is attention, patience, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted, affectionate dog who will happily fit into almost any family, Finn might just be your perfect match. Hi, I’m Smooch.   I’m not quite ready to be adopted, but you can come back here occasionally to check my progress and find out when to submit an application. Dog’s Name: Smooch Location: Naperville, Il. Date of Birth: 12/01/2025 Gender: Male Breed: Great Dane Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 10 lbs Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  All Cats  Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: We're working on it Crate/Kennel:  We're working on it Potty trained: We're working on it Car:  We're working on it Meet Smooch! Smooch is an 8-week-old sweetheart with a gentle, observant nature. He’s the kind of puppy who takes it all in—always watching, listening, and making sure he knows what’s going on around him. Because of that, he’s often the first to alert you when something new pops up. While he can be a little shy at first, his loving personality shines once he feels safe and supported. Smooch does best with an emotional support friend—another friendly, cuddly dog in the home is a must for him. Having a confident canine companion helps him feel secure and encourages him to come out of his shell. With the right environment, he blossoms into a sweet, affectionate boy who loves being near his people and his doggy friend. Smooch is looking for a family who understands that puppies need patience, structure, and lots of positive experiences. As a young giant-breed pup, he will benefit from consistent training and early socialization to help him grow into a confident, well-mannered adult. If you’re looking for a gentle, thoughtful puppy who will thrive with love, guidance, and a built-in best friend, Smooch may be your perfect match Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Story
Hi, I’m Ocean and I’m ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Ocean  Location: Waunakee, WI Date of Birth: 6/1/2024 Gender: Female Breed: English Mastiff Color: Brindle Dog's Weight: 83 Gets along with: Dogs?: All dogs Cats?:  All cats  Kids?: Older kids Training: Leash trained: Pulls on leash, but walks nicely with a harness Crate/Kennel:  Goes to crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car: Rides well in car - needs to be tethered Meet Ocean! Ocean is doing wonderfully in foster care and continues to show just how special she is. She’s already learned to bark and paw at the door when she needs to go outside and settles into her kennel without fuss—though she may need a gentle reminder that the couch isn’t always an option because, let’s be honest, it is pretty comfy. She rides well in the car, hopping right in on her own. While she may whine a little during drives, she handles outings like a champ and even impressed the vet staff by politely taking treats. Ocean has also met teenagers and, after a brief initial bark, quickly warmed up and became friendly and affectionate once properly introduced. Ocean is a playful, high-energy pup who would absolutely love a canine playmate. She’s been eager to play with her foster sibling and would thrive with another energetic dog who can keep up with her fun-loving spirit. Leash training is in progress and improving, and with more consistent walks, she’s expected to continue doing great. Like many young dogs, Ocean can still get a bit jumpy when she’s excited and may “tag” with her front paws while playing. She’s gentle, mouths lightly, and is actively learning good manners with continued positive reinforcement. She’s shown curiosity about counters but no surfing, and she does a great job distinguishing between her toys and people’s belongings. Ocean will do best in a home with an active family ready to continue training, another playful, energetic dog, slightly older kids who can handle her enthusiasm, and patience and consistency to help her mature into her best self. Ocean is a truly sweet girl with a loving heart and joyful personality. With continued guidance and time to grow, she’s going to be an amazing addition to a lucky family. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online.
