Story
Hi, I’m Hades and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Hades Location: Lake In The Hills, IL Age or Date of Birth: 3 years Gender: Male Breed: English Mastiff Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 198 Gets along with: Dogs?: Large breed dogs due to his size Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Leash Trained - walks loose leash Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car Meet Hades – The Bestest Boy! Hades is an absolute sweetheart who lives for love and attention! On a recent outing, he soaked up affection from everyone he met — men, women, and especially kids — his favorite kind of people! He’s a social butterfly and even greeted a few dogs along the way with a friendly wag and happy heart. This lovable boy would thrive in a home with children. His gentle affection for his foster family’s kids melts hearts daily, and he’s happiest when he’s part of their fun and cuddles. Hades also gets along well with other dogs, especially larger ones who can keep up with his playful energy. He doesn’t quite realize how big he is, so a home without small dogs would be best — not because he’s rough, just because he might accidentally play too hard. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online application with the $25 application donation. All approved applications are good for 12 months. Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters. All dogs adopted from Just Giants Rescue are up to date on vaccines (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Some exceptions may apply. All adoption fees are non-refundable; Just Giants is a NFP 501(c)3 organization. Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters. Sawyer is very smart and responds well to correction.  With proper training, he will make an amazing companion in any loving home. Sawyer is a puppy and will thrive in any home. He will need a little extra TLC until his eyelids are fully corrected and healed. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Hi, I'm Arabella and I'm ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Arabella Location: Belleville, IL Age or Date of Birth: 6 yrs (approx) Gender: Female Breed: English Mastiff Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 115 Gets along with: Dogs?: Needs slow intro to dogs Cats?: Yes Kids?: Older children Training: Leash trained: Walks loose leash Crate/Kennel: goes to crate/kennel on command Potty trained: indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car: Rides well in the car Arabella is a beautiful, easygoing girl who’s adjusted well to her foster home. She’s a dream on a leash, loves her daily walks, and absolutely adores rolling in the grass! Arabella has been friendly with everyone she’s met — including middle school-aged kids and up — and greets new people with calm curiosity. She’s great with cats and simply gives them a sniff before moving along. While she’s walked past other dogs without issue, she can get a bit tense indoors if another dog, particularly another female, gets too close. There’s been no biting, but she has growled or lunged, possibly due to dominance behavior. Because of this, Arabella would likely do best as the only dog in the home — or with a slow and supervised introduction if others are present. With her relaxed nature and great leash manners, Arabella could be a great match for a first-time giant breed owner who can give her the love and structure she needs.  If you’re looking for a calm, loving, and gentle giant to join your family, Arabella might just be the perfect fit! Hi, All Mac, here short for Mac truck lol. If you love big goofy dogs, I'm your guy. I am 100 lbs. of cuddle bug. I really don't think I am as big as they say I am because I would prefer to just be a couch Potatoe and lay next to my people and chew on a bone. I am a people kind of guy and love everyone I meet. I can probably live with another dog, but he would have to be calmer like me. but little dogs and very young children I would be afraid of because I am clumsy and wouldn't want to hurt them. I definitely don't think I could handle cats. But I know a lot of commands they say I am really smart and a fast learner. I am potty trained but do not like cages. I am strong on a leash so I would need a strong owner. Fill out an app here. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdsHBf5NUtvyBYpzWm6Z5Z0JosLBTsDC98oxPTfxtM9brrc7Q/viewform

Story
Calling all Mastiff and Senior lovers!! ❤️❤️ Our special sweet 10 year old Mastiff Mix Caramel Apple is in urgent need of a forever home. Caramel came up north after being surrendered by her owner for no fault of her own. After 45 days, her time for euthanasia came for length of stay - pups only get 45 days. This poor sweet senior was lucky enough to have a family step up to foster who planned to give her a retirement home. But due to a death in their family, life threw loving Caramel a curve ball. A new foster stepped up but Caramel finds her self searching again after foster has had a life change and she finds herself with no place to go. This is no place for a senior who recently completed ACL surgery after falling in her foster home. Caramel Apple is hearing impaired but that hasn’t slowed this sweet gentle giant down. She’s 111 lbs of love! She is wonderful with children in her foster home and other larger dogs in her foster home. She lovingly takes treats and enjoys a long nap! She loves every human she meets! If you want a mature pup with manners, Caramel is your girl - she takes treats gently, is fully potty trained and even knows hand commands. Caramel’s an easy to please girl, she craves nothing more than a comfy bed, sunbathing or light strolls followed by a nice back rub. Caramel has been waiting since October and has completely ACL surgery and heartworm treatment and she deserves nothing more than a forever home to spend the rest of her years. If you have a spot on the couch or a warm bed, Caramel is your gentle giant! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please understand we must meet your entire household, including dogs, before an adoption will be approved. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

Hi, I’m Bruno and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Bruno Location: Belleville, Il. Age or Date of Birth: 2 yrs Gender: Male Breed: St. Bernard Color: Brown & White Dog's Weight: 150 (approx) Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  All Cats  Kids?: All kids, Older kids, needs slow introduction Training: Leash trained: Walks on loose leash Crate/Kennel: Goes in on his own, but is anxious if the door is closed. Potty trained: We're working on it. Car: Still assessing Meet Bruno – The Giant Sweetheart! Bruno is a big boy with an even bigger heart! This gentle giant is sweet, submissive, and gets along well with other dogs. He’s even been respectful around cats — just a curious sniff and then he's on his way. Bruno is still adjusting to life outside of the pack he came from, which has been a bit of a challenge for him emotionally. He’s showing improvement every day and is slowly gaining confidence and comfort in his new routine. He’ll go into a crate on his own to nap or sleep, but still gets anxious if the door is closed, so his foster family keeps it open to help him feel secure. Bruno is currently working on potty training and basic house manners, and while he’s making progress each day, he’ll do best in a home with someone experienced in handling giant breeds. Due to his size and strength, he needs guidance and structure — and possibly a confident dog companion to help show him the ropes. Bruno's ideal adopter is one who is experienced with large or giant breeds, patient and consistent with training, and one who is always or quite often home as he thrives on companionship..  A fur sibling would be great to provide the additional companionship he craves. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online application with the $25 application donation. All approved applications are good for 12 months.
