He was a heart on his chest inside and out He is good with other dogs, cats, kids, ect… working on training, he goes potty outside. Everything is new for him due to being rescued from a breeding situation, so we are doing a lot of training at this point.. However, he is a quick learner! He loves being around his “pack”. The ideal home for Merrick would have someone who is home most of the time, and is committed to continuing his training. While not required, Merrick would probably do best in a home with another dog to help teach him dog behaviors and keep him company. This is Trippel! A stunning, handsome, happy, regal, friendly, tall drink of water. He weighs in at 132 lbs, all muscle and charm. Trippel was born in October of 2020 so he’s a little over 3 ½ now. He has a sleek black coat and loves to be brushed. Trippel travels well in an SUV, is housebroken and crate trained. He loves, loves, loves people of all ages. But due to his size and exuberance, we will not adopt him to a home with children under the age of 10. He lived with a cat previously and is very dog friendly. He would do well as an only dog but also would do well with other dog friendly dogs. We are requiring an above ground, fully fenced in yard. He loves going on walks and does very well on a gentle leader. Trippel is very food motivated and will take food off counters. His adoptive family must be ok making sure all food is put away securely. He’s a smart boy and knows when things are left out and assumes they were left out for him. Trippel has a very loud bark and when inside the home, he will let you know when someone is there. He’s an incredible boy that will follow you around, sleep at your feet on a dog bed or on the couch next to you. He’d love to sleep in bed with you but is also happy on a dog bed next to your bed. I am already potty and crate trained, though my foster momma says she doesn't need to crate me when she leaves the house because I enjoy lounging in my bed or on the couch until she returns (this life of luxury thing is amazing!) My dream home will include a big family and another dog or two, a fenced yard so I can play with my pals and lounge in the sun. I am pretty low energy overall and do not need a lot of exercise, so an occasional walk would be fine but I am not going to be your marathon training buddy haha! I could use some extra work on my leash walking skills; I was likely previously chained up in my prior life so I am extra alert of my surroundings on walks and can be protective of the other dog in my foster home when we are strolling the neighborhood. Fetching Tails requires adopters of young dogs like me to sign us up for training classes, and I am a quick learner (especially when treats are involved - I am very food motivated!) so I think we will have a great time learning new skills together and seeing how great a family pet I can be! Meet Genny! This 2-year-old Great Dane mix has been through so much in her short life. Found abandoned in a forest preserve with her 5 puppies, Genny was left to fend for herself and her family. It took rescuers days to trap her as she was terrified of people and had clearly been mistreated. Genny's ears were recently cropped before being dumped and the poor girl had a bad limp. After being trapped, she immediately went to the ER for her leg. She was covered in hundreds of ticks and her leg was beyond repair. Genny ultimately had her leg amputated, and she's still getting used to getting around on 3 legs. She spent some time in foster where she got used to having a leash on her and meeting safe people who won't hurt her anymore. Genny will need an extremely patient and quiet home with no children and a fully fenced, secure yard. Genny has done great with other dogs; she just needs the right people to take a chance on her!

A few years ago, this sweet girl was found dumped along the fence of our rescue! She was skin and bones and needed immediate help, so we named her MayDay. Our best guess is she around 6 or 7 years old and a Great Dane/ Staffshire terrier mix. She is very gentle, loves people, and really enjoys car rides. Mayday gets along with males, but is not very playful with other dogs. She would do best as the only fur baby in the home. Since she has been a kennel dog her whole life, MayDay is not pot trained so she will need a family who understands that. This dear girl would love a chance to live out her days in the comfort of a home with a family who will love her!
