Story
Latte is a special young dog in search of a special home. He’s a graduate of PACC’s decompression program for shy and fearful dogs and needs a family who understands that he’ll need extra time to feel safe in a new home. Latte has been taken care of by a dedicated group of volunteers that focus on our most fearful pups, and those volunteers are deeply committed to seeing Latte succeed. However, the shelter environment only allows for so much growth, and Latte really needs to continue his journey in a savvy and committed home now. Here’s what a few of Latte’s friends have had to say:“Latte has been continuing to make good progress. He has accepted an occasional walker he didn`t know before, allows her to leash him without trouble, and allows her to touch, scratch and rub him in the field. He was calm and comfortable with her on the way back the last time. With me he is relaxed and happy to see me, leashes easily, is bright and interactive on walks, and shows little fear of things going on around us. I believe he will do well in a patient home.”“Today Latte was the best he has been for me. I had planned on walking Latte and his kennelmate separately, but Latte came to the door and seemed to want to come along. I leashed him and we went to the yard. When I was in the yard Latte stood next to me and took treats from my hand several times. I then got up and just started walking around the yard and he followed behind me and sometimes would walk next to me.”“Excellent session with Latte- he seemed more companionable that usual. Leashed easily and was a happy walker with his kennelmate. They really like one another. For the first time I was able to touch, scratch and pet Latte at sitdown- a big step for him. We all then went on around the big lake and had a nice second sitdown where I was also able to pet him again. Love how he`s progressing.”“Latte`s holdout issue has been touch and he is progressing. A team member who sees him only once a week remarked yesterday how much better he was, and today I was able to give extended touch and cheek/neck/ear scratches in the field, even loose leash, when he has never tolerated touch in the field at all before.”As you can see, Latte is not a dog who will plug seamlessly into any home and be an instant snugglebug. But, he has learned to trust and has a wonderful future in the right home with a family who understands him. Latte shares his kennel with a pal who he loves and takes comfort

Jasper A6447536 years old 49 lbs.So calm. He is such a good boy!Fluffy white mix with tan ears and patches. Jasper`s perfect home would be one with no young kids and no other dogs. Due to resource guarding history with food and treats, dog intro is required. Preferably should be the only dog, and NO young children. He has lived with cats and are Fed in separate places. Likes to play in water, and does wonderfully when getting bathed. Used the doggie door to go in and out. House trained. History said he is kennel trained, yet you don`t need one. Jasper getst really excited for walks, jumps and whines. Jasper loves people and attention! Extremely affectionate, velcro dog.Loves being on the couch beside you, and the cool floor when it`s hot. Sleeps on the couch or dog bed.Loves belly, ear, and any human soft scratch or rubs.Loves brushings.Sits for treats, and then takes it outside. Ask about adopting him today!

Story
Please meet Sasparilla. This sweet beauty might possibly be the mostperfect dog at the shelter and shes definitely the winner of the SOCIALBUTTERFLY contest! She recently arrived at PACC after being saved by akind person and she has definitely taken over our hearts. She has allthose wonderful traits that make her incredibly easy to love: friendly,well-behaved, gentle, easy-going, mild-mannered, tolerant, and super loving. This tender-hearted gal certainly hasnt had the easiest life it appearsshes been bred way too many times and then ended up living on thestreets. But in spite of whatever sadness shes endured, it hasntaffected her shining spirit one bit. She has such an amazing attitude andis so eager to have human companionship. Heres just a small sample ofthings we adore about her:-Shes very people-oriented and makes friends easily she truly believeseveryone is her best friend.-Shes so happy all.the.time. She constantly has a smile on her face andher tail never stops wagging.-She follows instructions well and will sit for treats which she takesvery patiently and softly.-Shes simple to leash up and she walks easily and in-sync with herhandlers pace. Shes curious about other dogs going by but is neverreactive.-She has the ideal mix of energy - plenty of spunk and liveliness but alsorelaxed and mellow.-Shes very affectionate and thoroughly enjoys being petted and praised. She gives excellent kisses too!-Shes a nice combination of being independent blended with being a Velcrodog.Sasparilla was fast-tracked when she arrived at the shelter because sheeasily allowed staff to interact with her even when getting hervaccinations. When she attends play group, shes tolerant and social whenmeeting other dogs and oftentimes even engages in play. The handlers sayoverall shes an easy-going gal but sometimes she can get a little tooexuberant and assertive when interacting with other dogs. She shares akennel with a shy male dog her size and gets along well. This cheerful and devoted gal is definitely a dog who will lift yourspirits and make you feel loved! And since she craves human companionship, she needs a kind and caring home with someone who can spend plenty of timedoting on her and giving her the soft, comfortable retirement life a gal o
