Story
Cattle Dog mix, femaleTiny heeler alert! Gypsy is nothing but sweetness.  Gypsy is around two years old; a cattle dog mix.  She was a little shy at foster, but not anymore!  Gypsy has been hanging out close to her crate, she loves her crate. But I'm encouraging her to hang out on a dog bed with us.  She's housebroken. And sticks close when we're outside. She had a little leash training to do, but she's doing great in a leash now too. Gypsy is very nice with my calm dogs, and noticeably less patient with the curious juveniles. But overall, she's very appropriate with other dogs. She is spayed, chipped, and up to date on shots.  Gypsy is turn key! Gypsy is in Templeton, CA. Story
Cattle Dog mix female puppyMeet Minnie Cooper Minnie Cooper is a 5-7 week old, 4lb heeler mix found wandering a transient encampment. She came to the rescue from City of Tulare Animal Shelter.  Minnie is small, good looking, and built for adventure — this little rescue pup is basically the compact car of your dreams. She has: Low mileage (still a pup!), excellent handling (zoomies included), great on city streets and country roads, runs on toys, snacks, and snuggles Minnie Cooper may be pint-sized, but her personality is turbocharged. She’s brave, curious, and ready to park herself permanently in a forever home that will cherish her. Looking for a copilot who turns every errand into a joyride? Look no further. She is microchipped, on a vaccine schedule, and can go home on a spay contract. Story
Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix maleWelcome Maximus MMXXVI, more commonly known as “Max” from City of Tulare Animal Services.    Max is a leggy, 31lb, 2 year old, male cattle dog mix. He found himself at the shelter (December 2025) after his person went to the hospital. Either they never made it out or just never circled back around for him. That said, it’s clear he knows how to navigate the inside of a home. He’s housebroken and knows some basic commands. Max is dog friendly, in fact he was the shelter’s tester dog for the last 2 months so if that says anything about his character. He’s also very people social. Max is a fun guy with a lot of charm and spirit. He’s toy motivated and would make a great sport dog. He’s cat-like in his movements and very light on his feet. When he’s not playing, he’s snuggling (very affectionate, aim to please boy). Max is microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccines. Story
Cattle Dog mix, maleMr. Merlin here! Merlin comes to us from Tulare County Animal Services. Merlin is a 1 year old, 30lb, stub tail cattle dog.  He’s had some time to decompress and learn about home life…not to mention, big city life! He’s currently being fostered in Venice Beach, CA. Merlin is the sweetest boy. He’s a dog’s dog so we’re looking to place him in a home with another playful, active, and balanced pup. Here is what his foster has to report: “Merlin is truly one of the best boys…smart, gentle, and eager to be part of the pack. He’s a goofy boy who is still finding his footing and can be a bit timid - but with patience and reassurance, that melts away quickly, affection is exactly what he’s after. Merlin sleeps through the night, happily curling up on the couch or in his bed - something he picked up quickly by following my other dog’s lead. While he’s still finishing up house training, he’s making great progress. Merlin would thrive in a home with another dog. He loves having a confident companion to follow and it helps him feel secure and at ease. He may struggle being left alone without another dog in the home. He gets along wonderfully with every dog he’s met so far and loves to play! Merlin is a proud collector so you’ll want to make sure you have lots of toys on hand for him to deal around to his favorite spots. You might find your shoe or another household item there too but he’s only just keeping it company, he hasn’t chewed anything yet. He may be shy during leash-up but once it’s on, he walks beautifully and is excited to explore. With time and bonding, he’s also fantastic off leash, checking in often and reliably coming when called. His energy level is moderate: a long morning walk or play session sets him up to happily curl up on the couch for most of the day… until he decides it’s time for more love or another adventure.” Merlin is microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccines. Story
Cattle Dog mix, male puppyMeet Storm!    This little kid is thriving!  Storm is a Cattle Dog mix, about 12 weeks old.  He was very good in his crate first night in foster care and has been super good in the house. He loves to chew on cow hooves. He’s let out to do his business on a schedule and no accidents. Already a real porch dog at this age, he's always going to be stellar at sticking around. He follows beautifully off leash, and he's good on one too.  Storm really likes pack life. He's the only little one at the rescue right now. Getting lots of attention! Storm is chipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines.  Storm is in Templeton, CA. More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/  search in posts and photo albums.
