Story
Cattle Dog mix female puppyMeet Minnie Cooper Minnie Cooper is a 5-7 week old, 4lb heeler mix found wandering a transient encampment. She came to the rescue from City of Tulare Animal Shelter.  Minnie is small, good looking, and built for adventure — this little rescue pup is basically the compact car of your dreams. She has: Low mileage (still a pup!), excellent handling (zoomies included), great on city streets and country roads, runs on toys, snacks, and snuggles Minnie Cooper may be pint-sized, but her personality is turbocharged. She’s brave, curious, and ready to park herself permanently in a forever home that will cherish her. Looking for a copilot who turns every errand into a joyride? Look no further. She is microchipped, on a vaccine schedule, and can go home on a spay contract. Story
Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix maleWelcome Maximus MMXXVI, more commonly known as “Max” from City of Tulare Animal Services.    Max is a leggy, 31lb, 2 year old, male cattle dog mix. He found himself at the shelter (December 2025) after his person went to the hospital. Either they never made it out or just never circled back around for him. That said, it’s clear he knows how to navigate the inside of a home. He’s housebroken and knows some basic commands. Max is dog friendly, in fact he was the shelter’s tester dog for the last 2 months so if that says anything about his character. He’s also very people social. Max is a fun guy with a lot of charm and spirit. He’s toy motivated and would make a great sport dog. He’s cat-like in his movements and very light on his feet. When he’s not playing, he’s snuggling (very affectionate, aim to please boy). Max is microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccines. Located in Arroyo Grande, CA More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/  search in posts and photo albums. Story
Cattle Dog mix, adult femaleLike a fine wine, Olivia isn’t meant to be rushed. At first pour, she may seem a little reserved, quietly taking in the room, unsure of unfamiliar hands and new surroundings. But give her time to breathe — space, patience, and gentle consistency — and something beautiful happens. Slowly, her true flavors emerge: a soft gaze that lingers a little longer, a tail that starts to wag just for you, a loyal presence that chooses your side once trust is earned. This is a dog for someone who understands that the best things in life aren’t instant — they’re cultivated. Olivia isn’t flashy or overwhelming. She’s nuanced. Thoughtful. Deeply devoted once opened up. The kind of companion who forms a bond that feels rare because you earned it together. We know Olivia will require a dog friend or two in her new home. She's fantastic in a pack and great in the house.  Loves, loves, loves her off leash time. Although she's wonderful on leash as well. Olivia is a 2 year old, border collie mix located in Templeton, CA. She is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines.   More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1589146862046962&type=3   Interested in Olivia?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_App  December 29, 2025, 3:08 pm

Story
Bill is a 3-year-old neutered Queensland boy who’s spent most of his life outdoors. True to his breed, he is high-energy and would thrive with a job and the appropriate mental and physical engagement. He does have a history of chasing cattle—and cats—so he’s best suited as a companion dog with a savvy owner or a ranch that can safely provide the appropriate separation between him and the farm animals. Bill has been known to be a bit of an escape artist, so secure fencing is a must. Bill is naturally submissive, gentle at heart, and incredibly sweet once he feels safe. He’s still learning that people are pretty great, and with patience and kindness he’s starting to really enjoy human company. Bill would thrive with a calm, understanding owner who can help him continue building confidence and show him what being a loved dog is all about. He did live previously with other female dogs but would need slow and appropriate introductions to other dogs to determine if they will be a good match.
