Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. FENNIC was saved from a kill shelter in Louisiana and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 10 October 2023. FENNIC is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch.He has an estimated date of birth of September 2022 and at the time of transport weighed around 38 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue     YouTube channel     and     photo albums on our Facebook page     to see a LOT of pictures and videos. FENNIC is a very affectionate, sweet loving boy. He has a lot of energy and a lot of love to share. He is very responsive and is bonds very well with humans. He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving. He is looking for an active family who can give him the lifestyle that he needs to lead a happy, healthy life. He does like to be close to his human as much as can be, so someone that wants a best friend to take everywhere and do everything with would be Fennic's perfect home. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. FENNIC is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $250. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. CHIP was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024. CHIP is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of 26 March 2023 and in April 2024 weighed 28 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. CHIP is adorable, smart, high energy, loving, affectionate, fun, goofy and did I mention high energy? He shares a kennel with two dogs that came from Oman and has been great in helping them adapt and has been teaching them how to play, wrestle and enjoy toys - something they had not experienced before. Chip is true to his breed in that he can be a little mouthy and he does like to let you know how he is feeling when you are not paying him the attention he deserves and thinks he needs lol. Chip needs an active family and one that understands the breed and that they are a herding breed, they can get nippy if they are not taught to not do that. He is super smart, a lot of fun and will learn quick and will be the best companion to the right family. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page    to see a LOT of pictures and videos. Story
Welcome Astrid to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2.5-year-old Cattle Dog and Lab mix maybe. She was adopted as a puppy and returned as an adult. She is now a bit of a timid adult. She is potty trained and good in a crate. We think she may not have stayed home a lot as a puppy and didn’t get the interactions with other people that they need as a puppy. She is timid of new people but she is a nice dog. She is not over the top active and would be fine with a moderately active family. I think her best home is as an only dog where it is quiet and she can get all the attention. She would be great with a person that has a quieter home and is more of a stay home kind of person and doesn’t care that their dog also wants to be a home body. She would be best with someone that doesn’t want a social butterfly but just seeks companionship. She would be fine around children. I would say older like 10 or more. A retired single or couple would be her ideal pick if she could talk. She is healthy, vaccinated and spayed and ready for her forever home. She can be adopted locally in Texas where she is with the rescue. We can also use one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Welcome Ginger to the CCPAL Foster Program. Ginger is an 18 month old Australian Cattle dog/Terrier mix. She weighs 27 pounds. She loves toys and her new favorite is a purple elephant. She has been a very good mamma dog to her puppies. They are extremely healthy and well cared for. She was dumped on a construction site and we are not sure if she was pregnant or got pregnant on the site. It was extremely hot and dangerous for any dog especially a pregnant one. A good Samaritan picked her up and a foster stepped up for her to have the puppies. The puppies are now weaned so she will be spayed soon. She is also getting treatment for heartworms and will be ready in a few weeks for her forever home. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is an alpha dog but does get along with other dogs. She would be fine as an only dog or could go with another dog. She would be great for a family that is athletic and outdoorsy. She isn’t a dog that needs to be entertained. She is very content playing with her toys and running around the yard playing keep away with her pups. She is a nice medium sized dog. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can work with the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Story
Welcome Monty to CCPAL Rescue Program. Monty is a 2-year old Australian Cattle dog and Whippet. He weighs 39 pounds and is a medium sized boy. He is good with cats, kids and dogs as well. He is potty trained, good on a leash and good in a crate. He is vaccinated, healthy and will be neutered before he is adopted. He currently lives in a home with a family that has children. He was found as a stray and is now looking for his forever home. He was friendly to strangers and moderately active and not too vocal. He is a low to moderate shed. Some shedding but not over the top. He is a great dog and would be a great walking companion for someone wanting a medium sized easier dog to adopt. He entertains himself so he won’t need constant attention from you. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get this adorable boy to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Story
Welcome Max to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Smooth Coated Collie/Heeler mix is our best guess. He weighs 35 pounds and he loves other dogs. He is very dog friendly with all types of other dogs. He is friendly with the horses and the donkeys in his foster home. He is good on a leash, potty trained and super affectionate. He knows sit and does it very well. He is very attentive and follows direction easily. He knows shake a paw with both paws and is great on a leash. He was an outside dog in his first home and a good Samaritan took him in. He has been with a vet that had PTSD and is sometimes too rough with him. He is very loving to women and also loves men after being at the Rescue for only a week or two. He loves all people and once he knows he is safe bonds deeply and is extremely loyal and devoted companion. He would be great for a hiker, walker, jogger or any one who wants a good companion to take with you. He would be great in a doggy daycare setting as he easily gets along well with all dog personalities. He is vaccinated, healthy, neutered and ready for his forever home. He loves children with open arms and has been around them regularly. This is a WONDERFUL dog and will be a great addition to any family wanting an easy dog to bring in. He would be great for a more novice adopter as he is smart, skilled and follows direction easily. He would be a great dog for a family with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Story
~ I can live in a single family home. I have a VERY loud bark, so condos or apartments may not be a good fit for me. ~ I want to live with dog savvy kids over age 12.~ I may be willing to share my home with a cat but would prefer a dog free home.*~ I am a great dog with lots of potential and have mastered some basic training. ~ I have some special needs but still have lots of life to live and love to give. Please ask the adoption counselor to explain when you visit with me.

Story
Chico is a 7 year old Australian Shepherd who we purchased at 4 months old from a pet store in the mall in 2017. Hes always been so sweet, caring and affectionate. He has his playful, fun, energetic moments and also his calm, cuddly, lap dog moments. He is a GREAT family dog! So good with children of all ages and adults. He’s very obedient and house trained. He needs a family or adopter who has more space to provide him than I do. Maybe a yard on their property and someone who likes to be active with him. We would love someone who has experience with Australian shepherds. He deserves all the love in the word. I wish my living circumstances were different but I know he deserves more. If you are a great fit for our lovely Chico, please send in your application, tell us about yourself and how Chico would fit in your life. Then we will set up a meet and greet if your application is approved. Thank you!
