Uno is a 1-year-old Heeler mix who weighs 33 pounds and is basically a bundle of happy, goofy energy. He’s friendly, outgoing, loyal, and happiest when he’s part of the action. Whether he’s following his people around, carrying a toy, playing fetch, wrestling with his canine foster brother, or curling up for a nap, Uno is always ready to have a good time. Uno loves other dogs, and having a playful canine companion in his forever home would be a big plus. He seems much more comfortable when he has a doggy buddy around and has shown some separation distress when left without one, so we think another friendly, playful dog would help him thrive. He’s still very much a young dog and has plenty of energy to burn. A securely fenced yard is important for Uno, giving him a safe place to run and play while he continues working on his leash skills. He also has a strong prey drive, so a home without small animals would be the best fit. His favorite hobbies currently include fetch, chewing, and occasionally landscaping the yard, so his new family should be prepared to provide plenty of exercise and appropriate outlets for his energy. Uno is house trained, although he may have an occasional accident while adjusting to a new routine. He’s friendly with people and dogs and can live with cats, although his idea of respecting a cat’s personal space is still a work in progress. He can also be quite the neighborhood watchman, enthusiastically announcing interesting noises and activity outside. His volume is impressive, so he’ll do best with a family who won’t mind a dog who likes to share his opinions. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you.
