Story
Meet Aloka! This handsome 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix weighs about 42 pounds and carries himself with a calm confidence that immediately draws you in. When we first met him, Aloka was sitting quietly and peacefully in his run, just observing the world with soft eyes and a gentle presence.  Aloka is a happy boy who clearly enjoys life, but he’s not go-go-go all the time. Yes, he has that wonderful Cattle Dog energy and enthusiasm, but he also knows how to settle, relax, and just be. He’s the type who’s ready for an adventure when it’s time to move, then content to chill by your side once the day slows down. True to the spirit behind his name — inspired by the Peace Dog who walks alongside monks — Aloka has a balanced, easygoing nature that makes him a joy to be around. He’s affectionate, alert, and thoughtful, with a personality that feels both steady and warm. Aloka would be a great match for someone who appreciates an active dog with an off switch — a companion for walks, play, and exploration, but also for quiet evenings and peaceful moments at home. If you’re looking for a dog who brings both joy and calm into your life, Aloka might just be your perfect match. His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Alice is thought to be a dutch shepherd/cattle dog mix but that is just a guess. She is 2 years old and 70 pounds. Alice is a quiet girl who is content to lay on the couch with you and chew on a bone. She does have short bouts of play. She is shy around new people and will try to hide her head. Alice is good with other dogs with slow introductions, has not been around cats. She is good on a leash, likes her crate, and potties quickly when taken outside.  Her adoption fee of $300 covers her spay, microchip with registration, vaccines, and current monthly flea and heartworm preventions.  Please apply at gfrpets.org/apply ##2596386##

Story
We adopted Arlo last July, he was the last puppy that needed to be adopted at a petco event. He was so cute and all white we fell in love. We wanted another dog for our older dog to help train and grow with. He is 10 months old. He is super good with other dogs and just loves to play. We hope to find someone who has another dog he can be with and a huge yard to play in. He is so cuddly and good with kids. He definitely needs a job to do or good long walks if he doesn’t have another dog to be with. Unfortunately our living situation had changed and we have found no one to help take care of him during this change. We hope to find him his forever home!

Story
Meet Icarus — The Sweetest Little Cuddle Bug Icarus is a house‑trained, gentle‑hearted boy who is discovering how wonderful it feels to be loved. He is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd Mix who weighs 57 lbs.  He willingly goes to his crate for meals—just be sure to have a treat handy, because he prefers choosing it himself rather than being led. He spends his days playing with his brother, Osiris, soaking up affection, and curling up beside his people whenever he gets the chance. Inside, Icarus will occasionally burst into joyful zoomies, but outside he’s a calm observer who likes to sit quietly and take in the world. He’s a true lover at heart—soft, sweet, and happiest when he’s close. He’ll gently paw at you for pets and will happily snuggle up any time of day. Icarus enjoys walks, toys, and a good bone to chew on. His playful moments with his brother are adorable, but his favorite thing in the world is simply being loved on. Because he’s easily spooked by loud noises and sudden movements, Icarus will do best in an adults‑only home or with a family familiar with herding‑breed tendencies who has respectful, calm kids around 12+. Life with humans who care for him is still new, so an experienced dog owner will be the best match to help him continue building confidence and becoming the best version of himself. His foster mom describes him perfectly: Icarus is a very sweet boy who loves love. He’s a cuddler through and through, always ready to curl up beside you and soak in every bit of affection. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be close to his person, Icarus may be your perfect match. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Meet Osiris — The Goofy, Gentle Watcher Osiris is a house‑trained sweetheart with a silly streak and a whole lot of potential. He is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd Mix who weighs 61 lbs.  He tolerates the crate when needed, though it’s not his favorite place, and he much prefers lounging on the couch where he can keep an eye on the world outside. Whether he’s watching wildlife through the window or sitting calmly in the yard taking everything in, he’s a quiet observer at heart.  Inside, though, he absolutely gets the zoomies. He loves playing with his brother, Icarus, and his goofy, playful personality shines through once he’s comfortable. His play style can be a bit mouthy, so someone who understands dog body language will set him up for success. He’s also known to steal a sock or two just to show off his mischievous charm. Osiris enjoys walks, toys, car rides, and a good bone to chew on. He walks nicely on leash—unless he spots a critter, in which case his herding instincts kick in. Because he startles easily and has typical herding‑breed behaviors, he’ll do best in an adults‑only home or one familiar with the breed and comfortable with older, calmer kids (around 12+). He’s still learning what it means to be truly loved by a human, so an experienced dog owner would be ideal to help him continue building confidence and becoming the best version of himself. He can get a little jealous when he’s getting affection and another dog tries to join in, but with guidance and structure, he’ll thrive. Osiris is the goofiest boy—silly, playful, affectionate, and full of promise. With the right person, he’s going to make an incredible companion. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
