Story
Garfy is a 10-year-old, 45lbs, Blue Heeler mix with the heart and energy of a much younger pup! Originally adopted in 2020, this sweet, loyal boy is once again searching for his forever home—through no fault of his own. Garfy is the perfect companion for someone who loves the outdoors and wants a furry shadow by their side. He’s happiest when he’s out exploring on long walks (we’re talking multiple miles a day!) or hiking off-leash—he sticks close like the loyal buddy he is. At home, he’s just as wonderful: quiet at night, house-trained, and content to curl up nearby. He thrives with structure, routine, and someone who’s around more often than not. Garfy does best in a calm, adult-only home with space to run and roam freely. While he loves meeting new dogs and is generally friendly, he can be a bit protective at times and has some anxiety around new people and kids. His ideal person is patient, active, and understands the needs of a smart, sensitive working breed. No health issues, just a big heart, boundless love, and a desire to be your ride-or-die. Garfy is ready to be your adventure buddy, your sidekick, your heart dog. Adoption application is available on our website: www.puppypawsrescue.org

Story
Hi! I am Roo. and I will be 2 years old in March. My mom loves me so much that she knows I need to be in a home where I have a fenced yard, but where there are no little dogs like the one in my house now. I am spayed, potty trained, chipped, up-to-date on shots. I love hiking, fetch, and swimming. I am shy at first, and I have some fears, especially of men. But with a confident and experienced human, I can be a wonder dog. I am very loyal and great on a leash. I really would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Like all heelers, I need exercise and stimulation. Mom says I am so smart! I knows command like sit, down, stay, wait, and look. Once I warm up, I am SO easy to train. I would be best in a home with a single person - great guard dog for a single woman! - or an active couple. Young human kids are a bit too scary for me. I am eager to please and will make my person feel loved, safe, and happy as they do for me.
