Story
Kibble was a gift to my sister’s husband around Covid period. They lived with him for about 4 years now since he was a pup but she’s developed a severe allergy to dog hair. So bad that it sent her to the ER on a couple of occasions. He’s a sweet do but I don’t have the bandwidth to care for him the way he deserves. He loves open space and running around. So any home that can provide that for him is a win. Thank you for your time.

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Bertha is an Australian Cattle Dog/English Pointer, is 4.5yo, weighs 60lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is not microchipped.  Bertha knows how to sit upon command, loves car rides and loves playing with other dogs when she calms post-intro. Bertha's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome her:   "I took in Bertha after my father passed.  I am now the sole caretaker for my mother and am unable to provide Bertha the attention she needs.  She needs a yard to run around in.  I live in a condo and am unable to provide the best home for her.  She always wants to play with my geriatric Yorkie with a heart murmur which causes him stress. in addition,  I am allergic to bertha.  I really want to find her the best situation possible." Bertha's guardian offers a brief medical history:  "She was once hit by a car, but recovered with no lingering effects." Bertha's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Bertha hasn't lived with children, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "She wants to meet them, say hello, and be petted".   Bertha's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Bertha has lives with a dog, so her guardian recommends her living with dogs, stating "She always wants to play with other dogs.  She can be a little aggressive at first, but then warms up to the other dog".  Bertha's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Bertha hasn't lived with or otherwise been around cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats. Bertha's guardian describes her as: Very active Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Indoor/Outdoor dog (primarily lives indoors) House-Trained Likes men Likes women Separation anxiety Bertha's guardian describes her ideal future home:   "Bertha would benefit from a home with a big fenced yard in the country where she could run around.  Bertha would love a home where she is part of the family and the more attention she gets the better.  She would benefit from a patient companion dog who also likes to play outdoors." Story
MEET SUGAR! (Descriptor: Sweet) This active and very playful ~1yr old little girl was rescued from an underserved shelter where she was scheduled for humane euthanasia due to overcrowding and absolutely no fault of her own. This harsh reality is unbeknownst to her - she is full of life and adores people and other dogs! We believe her to be a mixed Cattle Dog, due to her appearance and behaviors. At about 40 pounds, she is a medium sized and healthy young pup. Sugar is aptly named because her foster mom describes her as “super sweet”. Her foster family has a farm and sweet Sugar has been savoring a life with her humans, other dogs and farm animals. She doesn’t leave her people and is friendly to strangers. She is house broken and uses a doggie door, so is not being crated while in foster. Instead she sleeps happily on a dog bed. She has excellent recall and is horse and chicken safe. Like some of us, car rides can make her car sick so her foster family have been taking her on short trips to help build up her tolerance.  Sugar absolutely loves other dogs and plays well with both male and female dogs after proper introductions, but her favorites are the playful young dogs. Sugar would make an excellent family or farm dog for an active family; small kids would probably be fine if you understand herding breeds (may “nip” heels). Please no homes that intend to crate all day. Sugar’s adoption donation fee is $425, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for Sugar by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org. Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.April 27, 2024, 4:11 pm

Story
I acquired my love from a friend, she is 4 years old, Penelope requires a lot of attention, love and affection. She loves the outdoors. Eats Purina one and some table food, she is happy and healthy, no ailments in lineage. A beautiful dog. She is skidish with small children, until she gets to know them. So, you will have to watch her, she will nip if she does not trust a person. We have to let her go because my child is extremely allergic; I do not want to put her in a shelter; because she does not deserve to be caged in and not loved and protected.

If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:   Tex  (TEX1220JNSMN)Estimated Breed:   Cattle Dog MixApproximate Age:  5 yearsApproximate Weight:   59 lbs Currently Living at: FosterAdoption Fee:  $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Tex is not just your average dog; he's a sweet, affectionate companion eagerly searching for his forever home where he can share his boundless love and energy with a caring family. In his foster home, Tex has been thriving, showcasing his good manners and delightful personality. He's an outgoing pup who adores meeting new people and making furry friends. However, Tex prefers to be the sole dog in his household, and he kindly requests a cat-free environment, too! He will also be too much for small children. If there are kids in the home they should be 10yrs or older. One of Tex's favorite pastimes is going for car rides, his tail wagging with excitement as he embarks on adventures with his beloved humans. Plus, he's mastered the art of crate training, willingly retreating to his cozy den upon command. Although Tex is an active fellow, he's adaptable and could happily reside in an apartment setting as long as he receives ample exercise and mental stimulation. He's hoping to find a home with someone experienced in handling dogs, someone who understands his needs and is ready to embark on this journey with him. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Story
Introducing Glowie, the one-year-old spayed female Australian Cattledog mix with a heart of gold! Glowie is a high-energy pup who absolutely loves to run and play. She is very vocal and food-motivated, always eager to learn new tricks and show off her skills. Glowie is a true people-pleaser and wants to be near her family as much as possible. Glowie would do best in a home with children over the age of 10, where she can have plenty of space to run and play. She is looking for a family who can provide her with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, as well as lots of love and attention. Glowie is a smart and active pup who would thrive in a home where she can continue to learn and grow with her humans.
