Meet Maggie 🐶💙 Maggie is a 4-year-old Cattle Dog who is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can truly settle in and feel secure. Maggie came to the shelter after not getting along with another pet in the home. Her previous owner shared that she has lived with children, medium to large dogs, and cats, and is a very playful and friendly girl. In recent months, however, Maggie became more protective and was involved in an incident with another dog, so she would do best as the only pet for now while she learns her place and builds confidence in a new home. This smart girl loves to play fetch and has a special fondness for balloons 🎈. She knows how to sit and shake on command and enjoys engaging one-on-one with her person. Maggie is especially affectionate with people she trusts and tends to prefer the company of one person rather than being surrounded by a lot of activity. Staff have observed Maggie to be a timid but very sweet girl who is still adjusting to the shelter environment. She allows petting but needs slow, calm introductions and a gentle approach. Because of her sensitivity, Maggie would do best in a home with older children only and a quieter household where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace.
