Story
ZEKE and ZSA ZSA are beautiful, courageous, affectionate, smart, and playful siblings. The were born with a condition is called microphthalmia, which renders the blind. Zeke is totally blind, ZsaZsa can see a tiny bit. They get along great using their hearing, sense of smell and touch and routine (don't move the furniture ;-). Zeke is a bit more courageous and has mapped out the house and the secure yard. ZsaZsa follows him closely. They have wonderful dispositions (as does their mom). They love hugs and kisses with humans and love playing with friendly dogs who are patient with them. They are a truly lovely addition to the right forever family :-) The pups are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. They would do best in a calm household where furniture is not rearranged, preferably no stairs or places they can fall from, with a secure yard, supervised (work from home?), at a location with low traffic and low risk for dangerous encounters. Inquiries: please email desertpawsnm@gmail.com to see if they're available and discuss any questions you may have. Adoption process: online application, ph/zoom, pictures/video, we bring the pet to your home and assist with introductions (furry friends and humans). We'd like to keep in touch and receive updates about these two! :-)   DesertPawsNM.orgDecember 21, 2024, 10:10 am

Story
Kingsley   There are spirits who rise above adversity and become beacons of grace—and Kingsley is one of them. This blue heeler mix, missing one hind leg but lacking nothing in soul or speed, runs like joy incarnate. His journey began with pain on the reservation, but today he carries himself like a creature kissed by healing and hope.   Affectionate beyond words, Kingsley thrives in love's presence. His 12-year-old caretaker had nurtured his heart with pure kindness, and he returns it now in every soft look and nuzzle. He appears to be respectful of cats, blends in a home’s rhythm, and can even find peace in a cozy crate (but he prefers the couch/bed ;) Whether strolling along a quiet trail with you or lounging in sunlight, Kingsley radiates gratitude.   His face tells a thousand stories—of courage, compassion, and the simple desire to belong. He's not asking for rescue. He's offering connection.    If you hear his call in your heart… he may be waiting to walk beside your soul.   +++ Kingsley is neutered, up to date with vaccines, dewormed and microchipped. He's an adult about 4 yrs old. He was born on one of the reservations we work with.   Please use email to contact us: DesertPawsNM@gmail.com    Our adoption process: email us, fill out an online application, pics/video, phone call to answer any questions, we bring the dog to your home to meet you and your pets, adoption, followup, we love occasional updates.July 26, 2025, 7:15 pm
