Story
I greeted the PACA volunteer with tail wags at the shelter where I ended up. She took a liking to me, and I loved it when she picked me up. My tail was thumping on her jacket. She found a foster home for me until I get adopted. I was only at her house for a night, but here is what she learned about me so far: I am always happy to spend time with people, but I can entertain myself. I slept all night in my crate and went potty outside. I got a bath, and while it wasn’t my favorite thing, I held still and let her wash the shelter smell off me. I like other dogs and try to get them to play by putting my butt in the air and wagging my tail. I like to chase a ball and explore outside. I know who my mom was, but since I can’t talk, the foster mom is guessing I am a Cattle dog and Great Pyrenees mixed together. I will probably weigh at least 60 lbs when grown. I am a chunky boy with sturdy bones, so they are calling me Hefty. If you’re interested in meeting Hefty, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm, located at 6300 San Mateo NE in the south Sprouts parking lot. Please email pacadogs@aol.com to ensure he will be there. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with a completed application. Complete an easy, no-obligation online application and take the first step towards welcoming Hefty into your home by clicking on this link https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 Our $250 adoption fee covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, tick borne illness testing and heartworm testing.

Story
Hello, I'm Crockett! I am six months old (born May 1) and I am living at Desert Haven until I get adopted. Here at Desert Haven I have always had roommates because I meet every dog in a happy and friendly way. I am submissive when needed or I can take the lead in the play. I'm good with cats too. Cats are a little different from me and I think that's curious and neat. And people? Boy howdy! Young, old, and everything in between - I love each and every hooman on the planet! Wanna know why? Because they have hands and hearts. Hands are for petting me because there is no such thing as too much belly rubs. Hands are for clapping for me when I do a good sit because I love to bask in your praise. Hands are for holding my leash because I really enjoy going for walks. And hearts! Oh, hearts! I have an enormous one so I really want a family that can match the love in my heart. My family should want a goodest boy with a heart of gold. I am tender and sweet. Playful and happy. Plus, I can lounge and nap with the best of em. To be honest, I am equally happy with a do-nothing day lounging on the sofa while you read or watch Netflix as I am to get in my harness and go for a hike. I am not one of those go-go-go puppies though I am ready to go to the patio at the Brewery when you are. But above all, snuggling is one of my favorite pastimes so I will put in my order now for a family who wants a puppy who loves being affectionate. Here's how it will probably go when you come to meet me: When I see you and I catch your eye, I will lay down and show you my belly so you can rub it. Once you start rubbing it we'll lock eyes and then good luck to you because the Belly Rub Invitation is my speciality and very few people can resist it. Best to bring a collar and leash along because if you have loving hands, room in your heart, and the want for the best puppy ever -- you'll be making me yours. See you soon.
