Story
Roo arrived at NCCR on 3/27/24, rescued when her owners could no longer provide care for her. She is an approximately 6-7-year-old female Australian Cattle Dog. Roo is very friendly to people, and lived with several other dogs, but seems a little intolerant of dogs that pester her or get in her space too much. She knows how to throw her weight around (and she could stand to lose a few pounds!), so she may be too strong for very small children. She has received a full veterinary checkup and was spayed and brought up to date with vaccinations and needed care. Roo may need more work on her house-training skills, as she has some accidents if not kept on a schedule. If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an Adoption Application found at caninerescue.org. *After you have completed your application, you will get a confirmation that we have received your application. It takes a lot of time to process the applications, so we ask for your patience while we do so. If you see that the dog you were interested in has been adopted it means there were many applications for that dog and we did not get as far as processing your application before a home was found. We welcome you to apply again if you see another dog that interests you. If you have a question, please email your question to adoptions@caninerescue.org. It is much easier and quicker for us to respond by email as we receive many phone calls each day. We do adopt out of state, however we do not transport or ship dogs. Potential adopter must be able and willing to travel to the Rescue to meet the dog they are interested in. *PLEASE double check all of the phone numbers that you provide as if they are incorrect, we will be unable to process your application. Please also let your references know that someone from NCCR will be calling them. Most adoption team members call from their personal phone so advise your references that there may be an unknown number or a private number calling them.

Story
We are the sweetest little litter of pups! We were being given away at 6.5 weeks so CPP stepped in to help us so we could stay together for the VERY important last few weeks of learning and staying with our littermates. CPP is also spaying our mama (& others dogs and cats in our former home) Our breeds are listed as what CPP was told. Mom is a Heeler mix and dad is a Bloodhound mix. Our Dad is VERY large and mom on the smaller side. So not sure what our size will be when fully grown. Applying for a puppy? Before completing an application, please take into consideration their breed characteristics, puppy shenanigans and the size at full grown. I am full of razor-sharp puppy teeth and love & NEED to chew! I am not house trained, or crate trained but working on it! I need exercise, playtime, mental enrichment time, not confined to tons of hours of crate time! I need quality time spent with me to learn proper manners, obedience training, house training, and lots of time to properly socialize me. I have had a rough start to life and need the best home possible for me to learn about love and loyalty. Canine Partners Program only places our dogs and puppies into homes that meet "their" needs! Our dogs are fully vetted. This includes spay or neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, rabies, microchipped, Heartworm and Lyme tested, worming, flea treatments, Heartworm prevention started, and any other medical care needed. Foster to adopt dogs, simply means they live with you while receiving their vet care. Once this is complete, then you adopt! Our adoption fee also includes 6-week group obedience class (value $125.) If adopting a puppy that is not spayed/neutered and underage, we cover spay/neuter at 6 months. Paws In Prison dogs will not be ready for their new families until they complete their program. Apply now for your highly trained Prison Dog! To apply to adopt: Visit our website- www.caninepartnersprograminc.org Click Adoption tab- Read about our adoption process and requirements then complete the adoption application by clicking on the rescues face. Their info will pop up with an application button. Canine Partners Program giving dogs a second chance at a happy life with our rehabilitation program! Story
King is a 10 year old cattle dog/shepherd mix, he’s incredibly smart and loyal and loves to chase his ball. He does great in nature, on trails, camping, etc. He’s considered a senior, but still energetic and up for an adventure. He gets along with other dogs but would be fine as a solo dog. He likes to ‘alert’ his people when people come to the home, but is super friendly. He would do best in a low traffic home. King has a form of lupus, LSO, that affects his feet. His immune system tries to reject his toenails so he takes a pill once a day which manages the symptoms. He’s been in remission since he started his meds about four years ago. We had a baby and king does not get anywhere near the attention that he used to. He’s an incredible dog that deserves a home where he gets proper exercise and mental stimulation.

Story
All dressed up and nowhere to go.Star was born around February 14, 2017 and weighs about 45 pounds.  We receive a desperate email from her owner. The following is part of the email 'I live in a low-income apt and cannot have her. She is good with other dogs and kids as far as I am aware. I am currently sitting outside Olean SPCA who said they have no room for her. Every place I have contacted said they have no room for her.  I don't know what to do because I have no where for her to go.'  Space is tight here at JR but we had to help.  We are told Star is good with children of all ages and she ADORES cats!  She has been fine with the other dogs here too.  Star rides well in the car and will stick with you off-leash while you tend to the garden.   She has moderate hair loss on her back, from a flea infestation that is now gone and the fur will grow back and she will be beautiful again.  She does, very much, resemble a Heeler, but she doesn't act line one at all - she is truly delightful.  She does love to play with toys.  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html.
