Story
Location: Russell, Pa.This is Kloe. Kloe is a 6 year old Blue Heeler/Australian Shepherd mix female that is fixed and UTD on vaccines. She would thrive best in a setting where she can run and play ball. She is active, but can also be a couch potato at times.Good on lead.Fearful at the vet, groomers, and during thunderstorms.Loves kids when she meets them (as young as 2 yo).Wonderful off lead (AFTER bonding period).Great loose in the house. No accidents.Respects barriers/gates (Dog fence outside not required).Knows shake, sit, and down.NOT always good with other dogs. (dog-selective).Loves car rides.Knows basic herding commands on a ball (and loves it).Very food motivated.Ok with traffic, but may run out on the road with bikes, strollers, and people.Has been around livestock and respects the fence.Has NOT been exposed to cats.Respects the ecollar.Has been socialized.Easily excited, especially at the start of a walk.Is crate-trained and is content to be in it at night.

Story
Hi, I'm Binx! I'm an energetic pup with a big heart. I love going for walks and exploring new places, but I can also settle down for snuggles and cuddles when the mood strikes. I'm incredibly smart—sometimes a little stubborn, but that's just me being confident! Loyalty is my middle name; I truly enjoy getting along with cats and some dogs.

Story
Garth 1 year old Neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix 30-35 lbs Garth was adopted about a month ago and unfortunately returned today. His adopters were so sweet and kind and tried so hard to make things work, but unfortunately we learned that their living situation just wasn’t going to be right for him. He came out of a puppy mill around 10 months old, so he will take time to warm up to things. We have decided he will do best in a home with direct access to a fenced yard, and preferably another confident dog who can show him the ropes. - Dog friendly - Previously did well with cats - Crate trained, may be vocal while adjusting - Previously potty trained if kept on a good routine - Will walk on leash well once he’s comfortable - NEEDS a fully fenced yard for potty breaks - Would likely prefer a home without stairs If you’re interested in adopting Garth please complete an application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt Long distance adoptions considered at the adopters expense. *Please keep in mind that it is time consuming for our volunteers to process applications. We ask that you are sure you are ready to welcome a dog into your home and are seriously interested in adopting BEFORE applying.*

Story
We have a tale of 2 sisters and we want to share their story. Gracie and Katie came to us due to their owner no longer being able to care for them. Sadly, most shelters, rescues and humane societies have been running at full or over capacity, us included. What made placement difficult for these girls is that they are both special needs as they are both BLIND and unfortunately because they had no where to go euthanasia was an option their owner was faced with, due to a few rescue options falling through at the last minute. We were contacted by a local vet clinic who was desperately seeking placement for these sweet souls as they were running out of time. Luckily, we had 2 dogs that were adopted over the weekend which helped free up space to take these girls in. The girls have been with us a few weeks and they have their own private peaceful room to relax in together. We knew their transition to a shelter environment with new people would be difficult for them since they are unable to see. We have been taking baby steps & have worked with them slowly as they were very confused as to where they were and if they could talk we are sure they were wondering `who are all these new people, scents, sounds and voices`? We are happy to report Gracie & Katie have made great progress...they have now made the transition to feeling much more comfortable with us, enjoying their walks, exploring our play yard and loving all of the attention they receive from our staff. They love chin scratches, they get excited when they recognize our voices and they seek us out for affection. They have become more confident & playful and we now receive doggy kisses from them! It is absolutely wonderful to see how far they have come from being scared, shut down & unsure of their new surroundings. We are searching for a special home willing to adopt both Gracie & Katie together, as they are a definitely a bonded pair. Although they are unable to see what their future holds, They hear us tell them everyday how a loving home is coming, They enjoy smelling and tasting all the treats they receive. Most importantly they can feel the loving touch of someone who cares each and everyday. Still young and so full of personality at just 3 yrs old all these girls need is a home. If interested in offering these loving pups a second chance please submit an application for consideration to SPCAallegany@gmail,com - for more info call 585-593-2200 ext 2. Applicatio
