Story
Meet Leia! Leia is a 40-pound bundle of sweetness just waiting to steal your heart! Lovable and affectionate, she absolutely adores hugs, kisses, and being close to her people. Whether you're hanging out on the couch or out in the yard, Leia just wants to be part of the family. She’s a quick learner, already potty and kennel trained, and she loves a good play session to burn off some energy! While she may be a little shy at first, once she warms up, she’s a fantastic playmate for other dogs and does well with older kids too. Leia prefers to eat her meals solo, but once she’s finished, she’s all about jumping back into the fun! She’s got the perfect mix of cuddly and playful, and she’s ready to find a family to call her own. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, and fun companion, Leia might just be your perfect match! To apply directly for Leia click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-611 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Story
Gloria/Gemma is a fantastic, sweet 6-9 month old girl that wants nothing more than to find her person and stay by their side - preferably snuggling on the sofa. She is still learning her way in the world and would love someone who is home most of the day. She walks well on a leash and gets along okay with other dogs but would prefer to have her person all to herself or another boy dog. She is still learning what toys are but if you need a snuggle companion you have found your girl! Not cat/kid tested. She is a beautiful dog, incredibly sweet and people oriented. She loves to give kisses! She’s sleeping in her crate in the bedroom of one of her fosters. She’s working on potty training and getting the hang of it. Shes about 80% there. She's slowly but surely gaining more confidence and spending time playing with the foster dog. She is definitely a dominant female so might do better with more submissive girl dogs, or boy dogs, but I think she would do great with another dog that respects her boundaries and doesn't mind her not respecting theirs occasionally. She is shy on walks but there's no pulling. If someone can be home most of the time, she will be happy as a lamb. She loves sniffing around in the yard. Gemma is being fostered in Corvallis, she’s spayed, up to date on vaccines and has a microchip. Her adoption fee is $400. If you’d like to meet sweet Gemma, please apply at http://herduneededahome.com/adoption-process/ or email us at hunahapps@gmail.com with questions.

Story
Howdy, I’m Maple! Maple is a young, petite, female, Australian cattle dog, currently being fostered in Eugene, Oregon. Maple is a very, very fun and exuberant dog. She skateboards, hikes, does agility, and likes to just hang out. So, what adjectives best describe Maple? She is smart, curious, happy, energetic, has personality plus, athletic, fun, funny, up for anything, and a great hiking companion. Maple’s ideal home would be on acreage with a fully fenced area for her to play in safely without worry of her being able to escape. Her ideal adopter(s) would be an outdoorsy person/people with an active lifestyle. She will need an owner who is willing to continue working on impulse control (not running out the door, staying, waiting for permission in general). Once Maple gets a good workout, she settles in the house nicely for a nap. Maple is crate trained and she sleeps, eats and rides in a crate. She loves learning tricks and is easy to train. Maple is currently being fostered in Eugene, Oregon. She is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated and ready to find her forever home. If you are interested in Maple, please contact hunahapps@gmail.com or find our application here: http://herduneededahome.com/hunah-dog-adoption-application-form/. Adoption fee $400.

Story
Checkers 9 week, male, 7 lbs Heeler mix   PERSONALITY TRAITS: Checkers is a classic fun energetic puppy that loves belly rubs.   LIKES: Toys, chewing and playing with his sister.   DISLIKES: None so far   POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Work in progress    CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Not a fan but settles down after a bit.   EXTRAS/MISC.: Takes direction well from the older dogs in the house. Has shown friendly interest in the resident cat but is easily redirected. As with all puppies, CHECKERS would benefit from puppy classes and continued obedience training so that he can grow to be the best dog he can be. Based on his current weight and age and our best guess on breed, Checkers should grow to be a medium-sized dog between 30-40 lbs.   To further inquire about CHECKERS, submit an online application via our website.  https://wigglytails.org    Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how CHECKERS will mesh with your lifestyle. Story
Hi, I’m BJ! I'm 12-years-old with a cute face and big ears that turn heads everywhere I go. I know basic commands like sit, lie down, shake, and I (almost always) come when called. I do bark, but only when there’s something worth noting! Thanks to a Senior Pet Adoption Assistance Grant from Petfinder, my adoption fee is waived, and funds are also provided to reimburse limited post-adoption expenses to help me settle in. WOW! We learned from the vet that I am Lyme-positive.  He gave me two injections and that straightened me out for the foreseeable future. The good news is that I have the chronic type rather than the active type and I am healthy and symptom-free. I love toys and playing ball. And guess what? I hardly shed at all! People are always surprised by my youthful energy. I’m very popular at the dog park; I’m cordial with both the dogs and their parents and run to greet all the new entrants. Outside the park, though, I can be leash reactive because I take my job of guarding my person very seriously. Speaking of my person…I think all people belong to me! That’s where I run into trouble in a home with another dog—I get jealous. And don’t even get me started on cats—they really get me revved up! Because of this, my SDRO friends think I’d do best as the only pet. I’m a happy, curious guy who loves being by your side—so watch your step, I’m always nearby! I have some herding dog traits, so staying active keeps me at my best. When you leave, I might bark and whine, but I always settle down. At night, I sleep great—especially if I get to snuggle up with you. I am excitable in the car, but we're working on it. My dream house has a big backyard with lots of room to run. If you are looking for a loving, fun, and devoted best friend, I might be the one for you.
