Meet Eddie ❤️ Eddie is a 6-year-old Blue Heeler who came to Eugene, Oregon, from Phoenix, Arizona, with my nephew last December. Unfortunately, my nephew was arrested and sent back to Arizona to serve time, and we are now looking for a new home for Eddie. We already have three small dogs, and I also care for my 93-year-old dad, so we simply cannot give Eddie the time and space he deserves. Eddie bonded with me very quickly and absolutely loves me. He can be shy and nervous around men, and when he is uncomfortable, he may growl. If he feels someone is in his space or he doesn't like where they are, he may try to nip at their heels, so he needs someone who understands Blue Heelers and is willing to work with him. Once Eddie bonds with you, he loves you like no dog I have ever met. ❤️ He is incredibly loyal and affectionate with the people he trusts. Eddie really needs someone with a large, secure space and plenty of time to give him the attention and exercise he needs.

Hi, I’m Louise.I’m a 12-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, about 40 pounds, and I’m looking for a quieter place to spend my golden years. I’ve lived a full life with dogs, cats, and kids, but these days I’ve realized I’d really prefer a calm home without young children running around. I’m a classic heeler at heart, and with a busy 5-year-old in my current home, I’ve started trying to “herd” him by barking and getting a little too bossy. My family loves me enough to know I’d be happier somewhere more peaceful.I’m independent, protective, and pretty quiet overall — unless someone comes to the door. Then I’ll let you know about it. After that, I settle back down and go right back to relaxing on my dog bed.I still get around great for a senior girl. I can climb stairs, hop into the car, and I enjoy leisurely walks, hikes, and a good game of fetch. I walk nicely on a leash and know commands like sit, stay, and lay down. I spend my time indoors with free roam of the house and do just fine being left alone for 5–6 hours at a time.I can be nervous around other dogs and tend to bark or lunge when I see them on walks, so I’d do best with someone who understands heelers and can help me feel secure. Cats are also pretty tempting to chase, so a cat-free home would probably be best.One important thing about me: I LOVE food. Truly. If there’s food left out, I will consider it a gift meant for me. I am on a low-fat diet.What I really want is simple — a calm home, steady routine, soft bed, and someone to enjoy peaceful walks and quiet companionship with. Sadie is a 9 month old border collie mix. At 26 lbs she is the perfect small/medium sized dog. She is very smart, funny, cute, and cuddly. She loves all people and is fully crate trained. She does great at the vet. She is highly agile and confident and would love to do agility or other dog sports. She is dog leash reactive, we have been working with a R trainer and she has shown some improvement. Based off of her young puppy behavior at her foster and how she looked, we thought she was a chihuahua terrier mix, we now know she has a majority of herding breeds and our busy working lifestyle is not suitable for her high drive and high energy. She is a puppy so we anticipate her mellowing out a little, but she is a border collie and we feel we cannot fulfill her needs now or in the future. She is a wonderful dog and I think she will make an incredible companion to people who have herding dog/border collie experience.
