Story
Cattle Dog Mix – 4.5 Years Old – Seeking a Loving, Active Home (No Pets or Young Children) Meet Baker (Baker Bug, Bugs, Bakey, Bakey Boy), a 4.5-year-old cattle dog mix who is looking for his perfect forever home. He is a smart, very affectionate, and an overall joy, especially when he’s part of an active lifestyle. He thrives with plenty of exercise and engagement. Whether it’s long walks, playing fetch (his absolute favorite in the entire world), or going on a hike, he’s always ready for adventure. For all his energy, he’s equally affectionate. He is always looking for a warm lap or someone to snuggle up to. He is intelligent, food-motivated, and easily trainable. We are absolutely heartbroken to rehome him, as he is truly the sweetest dog who we have shared the best memories with. Unfortunately, he is not well-suited for a home with small children, so we’re looking for a household with older or no children. Baker is best in a home with no other pets to ensure he thrives.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Calling All Senior Dog Lovers and Hospice Heroes… Molly Needs You 💕 Meet Molly – an 11–12 year old, 73-pound (slightly overweight - ideal 60ish lbs) bundle of pure, gentle love who will look at you like she’s peering straight into your soul. Molly is the kind of dog who lives for her people. If you stop petting her, she’ll politely place a paw on your arm as a friendly reminder that your job isn’t finished yet. If that doesn’t work, she’ll gently nose your hand like, “Excuse me… more love, please.” She follows her humans from room to room, happy just to be near you. Wherever you are, that’s exactly where Molly wants to be. She’s wonderful with other dogs, especially smaller, mellow pals, and she’s also great with cats. She’s fully housebroken, not destructive in the house, and is truly an easy, low-maintenance girl. A perfect family dog… and the world’s worst watchdog. Seriously. Pet her once and you can have anything you want. Scratch her ears and she might even help you load it into the car. Molly still gets the happy dance when you come home, like it’s the best moment of her entire day. She’s a little hard of hearing now, but she can still pick up certain tones—and she has no problem hearing the sound of a treat bag magically opening from across the house. Like many older gals, Molly has a few lumps and bumps. Sadly, the vet believes the mass on her shoulder is likely cancerous. Because of her age and its location, surgery isn’t recommended. The kindest plan is to let her live out her remaining time comfortable, cherished, and completely spoiled – exactly what she deserves. Molly recently lost her beloved mom, and through no fault of her own, she also lost her home. Her family was heartbroken and wants nothing more than to see her spend her golden years safe and loved again. Despite all the changes, Molly has remained the same incredibly sweet, good-natured girl and has settled beautifully into foster care. She just misses having her very own person. All Molly asks for is simple: • gentle pets • maybe a treat or three • a soft cushy doggie bed - she doesn't get on the furniture • and someone to keep company She would be a perfect companion for a retiree or someone who works from home. She’s an excellent listener, a loyal shadow, and a professional attention hound. If you have a soft spot for senior dogs—or if you’ve ever thought about opening your heart to a hospice pup—Molly would be endlessly grateful to spend her days loving you back. Sometimes the best dogs need the gentlest landings. And Molly? She is one of the very best. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and spend your days being adored!!

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Poppy – the 28 pounds of pure spunk you never knew you needed! This adorable 1-year-old Cattle Dog mix is equal parts silly, sweet, and slightly ridiculous—in the very best way. But whatever her mix, she's100% adorable goofball! Poppy comes fully loaded with energy, affection, and a signature underbite that gives her a permanent “deep thoughts” expression. Her lip gets stuck on her teeth about 90% of the time, so she often looks like she’s seriously pondering the meaning of life…when really she’s just thinking about snacks. Poppy LOVES to play with other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy to romp around stealing...err sharing toys. Cats are currently a mystery, but knowing her easygoing nature, she just might surprise us. When she’s not zooming around having fun, she’s a world-class cuddler who believes personal space is optional. She’s already house trained (gold star for Poppy!) and is always ready for adventure. Car ride? She’s calling shotgun before you even grab the keys. Windows down, ears flapping, living her best life—this girl was made for road trips and outdoor fun. Poppy would be perfect for an active person or family who enjoys walks, hikes, fetch, or just having a happy little shadow by their side. She’s great with other dogs and people of all ages, and she approaches life with a goofy, “let’s see what happens next!” attitude. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, goofy, loyal companion with a face and personality that will make you laugh every single day, Poppy is your girl. Just be prepared—once she moves in, she plans on stealing your heart, your couch spot, and possibly the front seat of your car. If you’re looking for a loyal, happy, people-loving pup who will greet every morning like it’s her best day yet, Poppy is ready to take her place in your heart and on your couch. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let this lovable girl light up your life!

Story
If you want a dog who is 100% 'in' on everything you do, Thunder is your guy! A ride-or-die adventure partner who treats every stranger like a long-lost best friend. This handsome guy is ready to shower you with immediate adoration. This handsome guy is the perfect "medium" size for any adventure! As a beloved rescue dog, his exact breed mix is a wonderful mystery, but his cattle dog smarts and loyal heart are 100% guaranteed. At a portable 22 pounds and growing we estimate Thunder will be a perfect 45 pound medium-sized companion once full grown. Ready to see thunders joyful pounce, speedy chase in action. click the link below. https://youtu.be/wdyF2am_Wis?si=iWARv71CuMf39W3r Whether it is a fun hiking partner you are looking for or a loyal shadow to just hang out and relax with at home. Thunder is ready to be your right-hand man! It can be a room full of new people or a pack of dogs at the park, Thunder is the life of the party. He has heart that beats for adventure and a play style that is pure fun. Thunder is currently thriving in a loving foster home. He lives with a large, dominant female dog and learned to respect her boundaries quickly he now absolutely adores his foster sister! When it comes to canine companions, he’s a great greeter and an enthusiastic player. Thunder is dog friendly. Thunder is a big fan of kids and currently lives happily with a 3-year-old! He is kid approved & respectful. You can find them playing all day-- tug, chase...you name it! All the fun things. He's very intuitive and gentle, and takes treats so well from his tiny little hands. They are best buds. Thunder is a rare "plug-and-play" rescue who is already a pro at house life! • House-broken? Check! • Crate-trained? Check! • Leash Manners? Absolute gentleman! Thunder has so much training potential. His foster momma has paws of the couch and little guy mastered it in no time. He understands and knows what is allowed, and knows that his crate is his hang out space when he needs some quiet time. At only 6 months old, he recognized the "kennel" command and knows exactly what to do! Thunder is a great communicator and will give gentle nose boops as his way of saying, "I'm ready for fun!" He enjoys some down time chewing on Nylabones or self entertaining with squeaky toys, so be sure to have plenty around. He is still learning and may want to nibble on something he shouldn't, but the great thing about him is that he redirects in a heartbeat with a verbal cue. Though he loves to play, he is just as happy curling up for a good nap. Thunder got a chance to meet our rescue kitty. It was his first time meeting a cat and was unsure of what he was, but he did well. He is a young puppy and may want to play, so we recommend a home with a dog savvy cat that won't mind the curiosity. He has a lot of potential and is ready to learn. If you have a cat in your home, we can offer a sleepover in a kitty friendly home to get more detailed interaction. Thunder would thrive in just about any type of home- a fenced yard where he can zoom and play chase, or if a fence is not available he would love to be with someone who will take him out and about exploring or having doggy dates where he can get his play in. He is fantastic on leash and would do great out and about on doggy friendly outing. Thunder is just waiting for the family ready for a lifetime of happy leaps and loyal companionship. Story
River is your confident little sidekick-in-training, with that “new place? new people? cool, I’m in” kind of energy. She’s fostered in a loving home with an older pitbull she adores playing with, and she’s the type of girl who walks into a room, makes a new friend immediately and promptly checks on the snack situation. River is estimated to be 6 months old, currently weighs 21 lbs with some growing to do, and all signs point to he being a cattle dog/heeler type. No guarantees of course given she is a rescue. River has great basic leash skills and meets new people with friendly confidence. She’s super affectionate and will pop up for some love, but it’s the sweet kind of “hi, nice to meet you. I like you!” enthusiasm, not a wild child moment. She welcomes pets and will immediately circle back for more pets if you happen to stop, because attention is one of her favorite hobbies. Insider tip- River loves treats and takes them gently, which makes her a dream for bonding, training, and general “yes, I work for snacks” negotiations. Want to see River in action? Head to YouTube for “River | Confident Adventure Pal” https://youtu.be/HdPOJnqrqg4 River is polite and confident meeting new dogs. She likes to get a feel of the vibe before jumping right into a play session but once she does- its all play even with pushier, rough and tumble dogs. She offers play bows, will chase and be chase, roll with the tumbles, and keep coming back for more. She’ll be happiest with a medium-energy dog buddy who enjoys chase and play without being overly pushy, since she can get understandably annoyed if a dog plays too intense and doesn’t take breaks Home-life wise, River could thrive in a house with a yard or an apartment setup, especially in an area where she can get consistent outings. She’s a heeler-type girl, so having regular walks, hikes, and “let’s learn something fun” time will make her shine. Treat-motivated + confident = a dog who’s ready to become someone’s hiking pal, training partner, and everyday bestie. Quick highlights: * Confident and affectionate with new people * Treat-motivated, gentle and smart * Dog-friendly with a preference for happy-go-lucky play pals * Adventure-ready! Bring on the walks, hikes, and training-yes please! If you’re looking for a smart, confident companion with a playful side and a heart that leans in for friendship, River is here and calling your name. Story
You know those people that plan their whole day around making sure their dog feels included and adored? Be prepared for that to be you! This is Skye and she is gentle, kind, a calm presence, tender hearted, and a delight to have around! Skye is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving home where she is learning the rhythm of home, and office life beautifully! In her foster home, she’s discovering what it means to have “housemates” (a heeler, corgi, and terrier!), and “landmates” in the form of chickens, horses, barn cats and cows. No matter what the situation, she approaches with a sweet, soft curiosity. She is estimated to be 6 months old, currently weighs 21 lbs and her looks make us believe she is a cattle dog mix. Do not be alarmed by that "breed" they have a reputation but this girl is not the full-speed ahead, bossy herding type, you may think of. Her look would have you believe she is a cattle dog type but we are convinced that is just in looks- Skye is more of a thoughtful little observer with a gentle nature. Want to see Skye in action? Head to YouTube for “Skye |Cloud Nine Companion” ☁️🐾 https://youtu.be/Dtl6OQK9nAw Skye’s foster has been giving her exactly the kind of life that helps a dog blossom- riding in the truck, tagging along to work, visiting family (complete with bonus dogs), and popping by places like feed stores so she can slowly build confidence in the world. Skye has already shown she can do well with other dogs, and she could also thrive as a solo pup, as long as she still gets regular “life exposure” and easy-going adventures like she’s getting now. She enjoys having doggie friends around, and has learned how to be part of the group in a way that feels friendly, safe and easy. At home, Skye is doing so well with routine. She’s kennel trained and sleeps in her kennel in the bedroom, and she’s been holding it overnight like a champ (think 10:30pm to around 5:30am). She is also house trained thanks to frequent trips outside, lots of praise, and the occasional reminder of the task at hand when the world gets a little distracting. She is a puppy after all. . Skye is also proving herself to be a polite houseguest- she’s not a big barker, she’s not destructive, and she’s responsive and easy to guide on leash, with a nice natural understanding of leash pressure. Skye’s “farm résumé” is pretty impressive too. Chickens? Fine. Horses? Fine. Barn cat? Also fine. In both foster life and during the time we spent with her during a recent visit, she showed that lovely, respectful neutrality around cats and other animals, the kind of calm that makes multi-pet homes breathe easier. Skye would love a home that keeps things steady and supportive while she continues growing and learning. A yard would be wonderful for easy potty breaks and peaceful exploring time, but her foster believes she could be apartment-friendly too, especially with consistent outings and a predictable routine. If there are kids in the home, Skye’s best match would be gentle, respectful kiddos who understand that a soft-hearted pup does best when introductions are calm and the world isn’t turned up to full volume everyday.. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady sidekick, Skye is ready and waiting! Adoption profile: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/696937b1c9c4d3d4e10fbfdb Questions?
