Story
Sophie Love Bug may have started life as the runt of her litter, but apparently nobody told her she needed to catch up. At 10 months old, she’s still noticeably smaller than her siblings, and honestly, the tiny size suits her. Especially since it makes it that much easier for Sophie Love Bug to climb into your lap—which is exactly where she wants to be.
Want to see Sophie Love Bug for yourself? Watch her YouTube video below and get to know this sweet little girl.
Sophie Love Bug is a tiny Australian Cattle Dog who does fine around other dogs, but if she gets to choose between hanging out with the dogs or spending time with a person, the human wins. She simply seems much more interested in human companionship than making everything about dog play.
And if there’s an open lap nearby, Sophie Love Bug doesn’t need much of an invitation. She’ll happily curl right up and make herself comfortable. She has such a sweet demeanor and an equally sweet little smile that tends to show up when she’s enjoying herself.
Sophie Love Bug is playful and gentle, so she still enjoys having fun, but she also knows how to settle in when there’s an opportunity for some one-on-one attention. She has a softer personality that makes spending time with her feel easy.
Cats don’t seem to be much of a concern for Sophie Love Bug either. She tends to simply ignore them and go about her business.
What really stands out about Sophie Love Bug is how much she genuinely enjoys being with people. She doesn’t need to be the center of the dog party to have a good time. Give her a person to hang out with, a lap to curl up in, and a little attention, and Sophie Love Bug seems pretty content with that arrangement.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
