Story
Meatball 6 months, neutered male, 40 lbsHerding mix  Say hi to Meatball! This sweet and goofy boy loves to get his cuddle time with his people but also rambunctious and loves play! He has been in foster for a few months and is very ready to find his forever home! LIKES: Playing with toys of all kinds, wrestling and playing with the other dogs in foster home, puppy bones, sticks, socks, laying in the sun and exploring the backyard, playing in the dog pool, chasing water toys, chasing bubbles and bugs, cuddling, food and treats (extremely food motivated!) DISLIKES: Being contained or separated from his people or his dog friends (and he will tell you about it!) POTTY TRAINING: 100% in his foster home. Meatball does well with a regular routine doing his business outside. Sometimes needs to be reminded or encouraged to go outside when he's super excited to see you. CRATE TRAINING: See DISLIKES. He doesn't like to be in a kennel. He may whine or bark for a little bit but eventually settles down. He's getting better and giving him a bone or kong wiyh goodies helps. He sleeps in a kennel at nighttime (but he loves to sleep in bed with you, if you let him!) and spends about 4 hours at a time during the day at his foster home. When he hears you starting to wake up in the morning, he lets you know he's ready to come out. OTHER/MISC: He's timid/wary when meeting new people or dogs but that goes away relatively quickly. He may bark at and shy away from new people initially. MEATBALL is very smart and already learning basic commands like sit, lay down and wait. He is also working on containing his enthusiasm and not jumping up to greet people. He likes to go for walks and is getting more confident out in the world. He loves attention and gives kisses. He enjoys cuddling on your lap or nearby when tired. He will also happily find a dog bed to snooze in as well. He likes to be where the action is and see what's going on. He is a medium sized dog and happy to go anywhere or do anything with his people. He needs an active home with regular walks and will benefit from Puppy classes and obedience training to make sure he grows to be the best dog he can be. He does enjoy having a playful, laid back dog friend as he can be a little bossy. He bonds to his dog friends and seeks them out for play time and to cuddle. He looks to the other dogs in his foster home when he's unsure of something and their confidence helps him when he's uncertain. He is working on some food territorialness in his foster home, and has been improving. He loves to be outside and is becoming a water dog, will even play in his water bowl if a pool isn't available. He likes to chase the sprinkler too.  Meatball really is an awesome dog, with a fun playful and loving personality. He will keep his forever family laughing at his antics and they will never feel lonely with him around. Story
Checkers 4 mos, neutered male, 13lbs  Heeler mix   Checkers has been waiting for his forever home and is the last of his litter still in foster. He loves chew toys, cuddling, and playing with the resident dogs.   LIKES: Chew toys, playing with other dogs, belly rubs   DISLIKES: He is nervous around big dogs at first but warms up to them within a couple days.    CRATE/POTTY TRAINING: Potty training and crate training in process   OTHER/MISC: Checkers is a sweet pup, and he is good with cats. He is a mixed breed pup and only a DNA test will tell for sure, but we suspect he has some herding breed ancestry. He is likely to grow to be a small to medium sized dog. As with all puppies, Checkers would benefit from puppy classes and training so that he can grow to be the best dog he can be.   To further inquire about CHECKERS, submit an online application via our website. Story
Hi, I`m Ruger! I`m about 3.5 years old and weigh 45 pounds.Do you like...Dogs? I`ve done well meeting other similarly-sized, friendly dogs. Please bring any dogs in the home to meet. Cats? My history is a mystery and staff are not sure I would be successful living with a cat.Kids? I`d like to start out meeting kiddos old enough to be respectful of me. 8+Anything else you`d like us to know, Ruger? I`m a sweet, smart, handsome boy who enjoys crawling in my favorite humans` laps for attention!I came into the shelter as a stray and the above information is all recommendations based on my behavior seen at the shelter. I have no known history. Expect to learn more about me after adoption. It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I`m looking for my forever home and it could be with you!ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee. Story
Howdy, I’m Maple! Maple is a young, petite, female, Australian cattle dog, currently being fostered in Eugene, Oregon. Maple is a very, very fun and exuberant dog. She skateboards, hikes, does agility, and likes to just hang out. So, what adjectives best describe Maple? She is smart, curious, happy, energetic, has personality plus, athletic, fun, funny, up for anything, and a great hiking companion. Maple’s ideal home would be on acreage with a fully fenced area for her to play in safely without worry of her being able to escape. Her ideal adopter(s) would be an outdoorsy person/people with an active lifestyle. She will need an owner who is willing to continue working on impulse control (not running out the door, staying, waiting for permission in general). Once Maple gets a good workout, she settles in the house nicely for a nap. Maple is crate trained and she sleeps, eats and rides in a crate. She loves learning tricks and is easy to train. Maple is currently being fostered in Eugene, Oregon. She is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated and ready to find her forever home. If you are interested in Maple, please contact hunahapps@gmail.com or find our application here: http://herduneededahome.com/hunah-dog-adoption-application-form/. Adoption fee $400.

Story
Meet Leia! Leia is a 40-pound bundle of sweetness just waiting to steal your heart! Lovable and affectionate, she absolutely adores hugs, kisses, belly rubs, and being close to her people. Whether you're hanging out on the couch or playing outside in the yard, Leia just wants to be part of the family and involved in all the action. She’s a quick learner who is already potty and kennel trained, making her an easy addition to any home. Leia has a playful side and loves a good game of fetch to burn off some energy. After a fun play session, she’s more than happy to snuggle up and soak in all the love and attention you have to give. While she may be a little shy when meeting new people or pups, once she warms up, she becomes a fantastic playmate for other dogs and does well with older kids too. Leia lives in a home with cats and does well with them. Leia prefers to eat her meals solo, but once she’s finished, she’s ready to jump right back into playtime or cuddle mode! She’s the perfect mix of cuddly, playful, and loyal, and she’s more than ready to find a forever family to call her own. Leia would thrive in a home where she can be included in activities, get plenty of belly rubs, and enjoy daily games of fetch. If you’re looking for a gentle, fun-loving, and devoted companion, Leia might just be your perfect match! To apply directly for Leia click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-611 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org.
