Story
Meet Toasty! This young cattle dog mix is looking for a family that can be understanding of his rough start, and provide consistency and training to help him build confidence. Toast is timid and has missed key puppy skills and socialization along they way. He is also a high drive, working breed, and requires a lot of exercise. The right home for Toast would include a fenced yard and previous experience with the Cattle Dog breed.Toast enjoys playing with toys, working on training(he`s food motivated), and cuddling. He has shown to be a little too nippy for young children, so we are recommending ages 13+ for this guy. He has done well with cats in his foster home but is showing reactivity towards dogs. He may be able to have dogs friends but would prefer to be the only dog in the home at this time.If you`re interested in meeting Toast, he is located at the Pennsylvania SPCA -- Danville Center on Bloom Rd. -- open daily from 12:00 - 6:00 (no appointment needed - all people in the home required to meet the dog before going forward with adoption). If you have any questions about him, feel free to call the shelter at 570-275-0340 or email us at danville@PSPCA.org.Pennsylvania SPCA Danville Center1467 Bloom Road Danville PA 17821Kennel# 2909

Story
Leo is a hiking enthusiast, loves fetch and any toy you deem as his. He is incredibly obedient, aims to please and prove how smart he is. He would do well in agility classes and would be a total show off, I had him in classes as a pup and he did amazing! We have traveled across the country, several times, did well in hotels. I have two children under the age of two and he is unfortunately not adjusting well. I do not believe he has any issues with children or babies he has always been very tolerant and kind to them even when they are still learning to be gentle with him. The problem is that Heelers historically have (a person) and I have been his, therefore there is a lot of jealousy and his behavior is worse when I am around. I got Leo as a pup when I was single and worked night shifts, I am now moved and married with kiddos, we love him dearly but that does not dismiss that fact that priorities have changed and I would love to see him go to a home where he can thrive and be enjoyed.

Story
Windy is going to be a whole lot of fun for some lucky family. She is VERY adventurous, VERY active, VERY outgoing and has a zest for life. She is a friendly and happy girl as well and seems to love everyone that she meets. She really enjoys the outdoors too, so if you need a hand with the cattle, a hiking partner or running partner, I think she’ll be a good one. Given her activity level, she will need to be adopted by a fun and ACTIVE family. Windy didn’t come to us alone either, she came with her four puppies, which have already been adopted. Now that she has fulfilled her motherly duties it’s her turn for a better life. She is 4-5 years old and weighs 35-40 pounds. She has been spayed, 4DX heartworm tested, microchipped, fecal tested and is current on all vaccinations, worming and on heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $400. Windy is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted she will be transported to her pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the Northeast area every week and her fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we cannot accept applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine since we can’t adopt directly to those states.

Story
Meet Freckles - she's cute, playful, and full of love! She is eager to please, and treat motivated. This friendly and energetic girl is a young adult dog, she is smart, trainable and an energetic girl. Freckles is a bit more dominant with dogs smaller than she is, she wants to "herd" them so she would do best with dogs her size or larger, otherwise she would be great as an only dog with plenty of time with her people. Freckles is a smart cookie who loves to explore, so she's looking for an active person or family who can keep up with her. She would be great as a hiking companion, or a dog you want to take with you on outings. -Freckles would do well with some additional training, she is very trainable. -SMART girl -Estimated to be a year old and in the 35 lb range - Not ideal for a home with young toddlers. -Energetic - needs both physical and mental stimulation -Does well on the leash If you're interested in adopting Freckles, please fill out an adoption application to get the process started! **********PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT FRECKLES ********** Please COPY and PASTE the following URL for the adoption application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FPSL/Dog COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. Please note that our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them if adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved. We are USDA certified, and WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, Microchip, heartworm tested, Mississippi Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible.*** We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents.
