This girl is 26 pounds of energy and love. She had to be captured by the local animal control officer and was prettified. She was lunging and growling and very upset. But something in her eye just pleaded for me to help her. So I picked her up from the shelter and brought her home where George (our cat) helped me show her that humans and other animals are good. George helped her calm down and let her guard down and after about an hour she was giving me lots of kisses. She is hilarious and is definitely a lover. She may need a couple of minutes to feel safe, but once she does, she is glued to you. She is extremely smart, loves to go for rides, walks and hikes or any adventure (we went kayaking) She prefers not to be left alone as she does have some separation anxiety. Lita came in as a stray early November who was never claimed by her owners. She is now ready to find a forever family and hopes to never land in a shelter again! When Lita first arrived at the shelter, everyone thought she was a young puppy due to her size and excitable nature, but we were WRONG! Lita has all of her adult teeth and is at least a year old. If you're looking for a dog who will be forever young, Lita is your girl! She is definitely a go with the flow type of pup, and everything she does has a bit of spunkiness to it. Lita just loves life, people and wants to soak in all the experiences she can get. We won't lie, she can be a little over the top with her energy at times, but she is treat motivated and willing to learn. Lita just has a lot of drive with nowhere to put it, and would do really great if she had a job to do or could live with a family who had a pretty active lifestyle already. The BEST thing for Lita would be for her to live in a house with other dogs who she could play with. She really enjoys canine company, and would make a great pal to the dog you may already have.
