Ole Girl is a senior dog, a true couch potato awaiting love! She's easygoing and friendly with everyone—people, dogs, cats, and more. Found on a remote South Texas road with only a Frisbee full of soggy dog food, she's been in foster care since December 2023 without a single meeting scheduled. She's incredibly sweet, calm, and intelligent. And, she's heartworm negative! Let's find Ole Girl a forever home with a proper dog bowl and a comfortable couch to call her own!

Story
I am gentle, gracious Gracie!, a 53 pound 1 year old cattle dog mix! You can lose yourself in my beautiful, intelligent brown eyes! I'm always happy, and I love big! My handlers adore me and nothing makes me happier than making them smile by wagging my tail and snuggling with them! Heck, I am no couch potato though! I love to run and am very fast; you should consider me if you like dog sports or want a jogging partner!  I know all my basics manners, am house trained, crate trained, microchipped and spayed. What more could you want? Georgous Gracie won't last long! Apply for her today by going to pawsinprisontx.org to read our guidelines and fill out an appication. ##1838055##

Story
If you're looking for a well-rounded companion, look no further than Alfie! He's just as content curling up next to you (or on your lap) while watching a movie as he is playing tug-o-war. He enjoys being outside and smelling new things on his walks. He is completely unfazed by squirrels, great on a slip leash, and would make a great running buddy! Alfie is always down for a road trip and recently had a blast at the beach with his foster mom! He loads up easily to "get up or "up and knows other basic commands. He's house trained and sleeps in a kennel if needed. His best friend is his foster brother, Oliver, who is a 4 year old, 70 lb Catahoula mix. Alfie tends to get along best with younger dogs that are submissive and playful like Oliver. We suggest a meet n greet with resident dogs. He has been great with children (5+) who have come up to pet him, gently licking their faces. Alfie seems to be under the impression that he's supposed to catch a ball with his paws instead of his mouth. He hasn't quite mastered that method, so he just ends up losing track of the ball and making everyone laugh at his goofy quirk. He also loves to be petted and will nudge you if you stop, indicating that you're not done petting him just yet! The ideal home for Alfie would be a house with a fenced yard. He loves being in the same room as his human(s). He's currently left inside for 6-8 hours a day, sleeping by the door or on the couch until his foster gets home. He gets excited to go to sleep in his kennel at night. Alfie doesn't know he's 50lbs, as that doesn't stop him from wanting to be held or cradled like a baby. His foster mom says he is the sweetest boy whose big brown eyes tell you that he just wants to be included in the family, knowing he'll never be left on his own again.
