PICKETT Pickett was born in 2015. He is about 45 pounds, mostly black. He is a mystery mix. LOVES EVERYONE! He gets along with all people - he's a hugger and kisser Loves other dogs - moderately playful. He does try to hump the first time meeting, but is easily corrected. Loves cats. Great on the leash. And in the car. He's not young, but has tons of puppy like energy. LOVES toys and bones. Good house manners. HOWEVER, when unsupervised he should be crated or he may chew inappropriately. He was with a rescue for the last seven years and was never chosen somehow - despite his super friendly adorable personality. This handsome red heeler mix puppy is called Ernie and he and his brother Bert and their mom were found in a barn where they had been raised by their stray mother. Their mother was barely hanging on to life. The happy ending to her story is she is living with a wonderful family now and is loved and Ernie is looking for a wonderful family too raise him, love him, and bring his own special joy to. Ernie is a really delightful and well adjusted 6-month-old puppy that weighs 26 lb. He is a friendly little guy that enjoys meeting people and loves to chase a ball and bring it back to you. His innocence and love for life is contagious. He craves being with people that like him and speak kind words to him. He will crawl in your lap and be your best little buddy. His foster mom who raised he and his brother Bert says that he has the best temperament and personality. Recently this little guy went to a yoga class at the YMCA and had so much fun. It was a totally new and unique environment and he handled it with great poise and embraced all of the Zen vibes going on. Ernie is housebroken, crate trained, loves being around other cats and dogs alike and adores children. There isn't a living creature on this earth that he doesn't like. He is learning quite well, how to walk on a leash and he rides in a car like a pro. We have named her Blue Lacey, and we think her adult weight will be somewhere between 25-30 pounds tops. She and her sister Blue Sierra were found as strays, wandering on an expansive farm property in Middle Tennessee. The girls had no collars, and were cold and hungry. Blue Lacey is a beautiful girl that is a 'people pleaser'. She will follow you like a little shadow and try to do whatever you ask her to do. She is a smart and strong personality like the Heeler breed embodies. He is a power chewer and will chew through anything you send his way, but is slow/ gentle with treats. He is a sweet dog who loves to cuddle and be up under you. If you tell him to stop he goes and lays in a corner. He is house trained. Loves to play with other dogs. Will walk ok on a leash, but hasn’t had a lot of time on the leash. ( barks a lot when he sees cows on short walks). He’s needs a home with activities for him to do. He’s does well on car rides. He is a bit over 2 years old.

Salty is good with most dogs but may do best as the only dog in the home since he can get a little possessive of his person. That said, this may improve in a quieter home with fewer dogs than we have here at the rescue. He's great with kids, loves people, and is a friendly little guy with no known allergies or bite history — just normal puppy antics! Salty is house-trained, microchipped, and in good health. He's still waiting to be neutered, but we're working on scheduling that. With his medium energy level, Salty would love a home with a yard and a secure 4-foot fence where he can play safely. Stella came to us from a difficult dog-hoarding situation where she lived with over 15 other dogs. This high-stress environment left her needing time to feel safe and comfortable in new surroundings. But once she warms up, her affectionate and loyal nature truly shines. One of Stella’s favorite activities is running and playing in our Bark Park with her kennel mate, Thumper, and her buddy, Oswald. She seems to do well with other dogs but appreciates a patient introduction to let her trust and confidence grow. It’s important to note that Stella has luxating patellas (loose kneecaps) in both her back legs, a condition that may require surgery as she gets older. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm prevention. Mac is fearful of strangers but is loving and playful once he knows you! No children or dogs, due to his reactivity! He hasn’t been tested around cats. Mac is given 60mg of Clomipramine HCL twice a day for his anxiety. He bit a veterinary technician at a boarding kennel and a dog sitter. He bit a plumber who walked into the owner’s home unannounced. He also bit a stranger who walked into the owner’s friend’s home. The owner said these bites have all been due to his fear. The owner is surrendering him because of his anxiety, and they are expecting a grandchild soon. If you think you can provide a great home for Mac, please contact the owner listed below.
