Story
We are trying to help this sweet girl called Bonnie Belle to find a home since her elderly parents are in failing health and cannot care for their five dogs.  Bonnie Belle is a mix of some interesting breeds.  We think she has some Aussie and maybe Boxer in her.  The Australian Shepherd trait is what makes her a protector of the yard and home when strangers approach.  She is the home security dog officer!   This girl is losing her home because her elderly parents have fallen into bad health.  Bonnie Belle is 4 years old and weighs a little over 40 pounds.  She adores people and is good with the other dogs that she spends time with in the fenced yard.  She is housebroken, affectionate and a devoted girl to her family.  If you would like to give Bonnie her next forever home, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue who is helping her at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 28, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Lora Lee is a very sweet dog that is just 2 years old and weighs 35 pounds.  She is said to be an Aussie mix with some Terrier.  Whatever the mix is we think she is a most unusual and truly a beautiful girl who well with other dogs in her foster home.  She is a friend to all and apparently she is house trained as long as taken out regular. Lola Lee is crate trained but cannot be left for long hours in the crate.  She is not leash trained  but is trying to improve.   We are requesting that applicants have a fenced yard for her because she is an active girl that needs to run and play with freedom and not at the end of a leash only. This beauty loves to cuddle and be by your side like your BFF and shadow. If you have another dog that would be great for her to have a playmate that can help her wear out her energy every day.  Lola Lee is a great girl and she is going to need an active family that can challenge and meet her need for exercise and be able to keep up with her.   She is really not a dog for a retirement couple that are ready to have a more laidback dog with fewer exercise demands.  If you are interested in this girl please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 28, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Hello, you lucky people! I know, when you hear the name Bianca you think of Beautiful and of course I am all of that and more.  But even though I am small in stature, but big in personality, I am an adorable force of nature. How big will I be when I grow up? Who knows, but my foster mom says I have enough cuteness and cuddles for any size.I am crate-trained, which is not the same as housebroken, but it means I don’t mind being in my crate and usually keep it clean and dry. I might holler and howl out of protest when you first put me in my crate, but my foster mommy says don’t be fooled. I’ll settle down with a blanket and toy after a little while. When I first go to a new home I will just have to get used to being without my brothers and sisters and get used to my new family. I sleep in my crate at night just fine but with company. I love mealtime and I also love to chase toys. If you get me settled on a blanket next to you, I love a good snuggle time filled with love.I’m ready. Come and get me! Love, Bianca.   Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com  April 28, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Hello World.  My name is Cypress and I am a pretty little Aussie mix puppy who was born on Feb. 4th, 2024 to a litter of 13 puppies.  My momma is a red and white Aussie and she was so brave and raised us all to be healthy and sweet natured. My foster mom says I am a spirited girl puppy that has boundless energy and a love for playtime.  I have learned the fine art of stealing hearts too!  If you watch me for long you will  be rolling in the grass with me laughing and having a gold old time. They say I have the perfect blend of charm and mischief.  I am totally committed to making you  have fun being around me.   I love other dogs and my foster mom has some big ones that I love to hang out with and pretend I am all grown up.  They teach me things too!  I get my intelligence from my Aussie breed influence from my momma.  She has a nice sweet nature that she passed along to all of her pups.   I even figured out the doggie door from the first day that I went to live with my second foster mom when I was 8 weeks old.  She was super impressed because I was so young and really small when I learned.  My future is bright and lying ahead of me with a special wish that I will find a special family that is active and really dedicated to teaching me how to be the best trained dog around. I want to learn, love and lasso your heart!  Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are ready!  I will be ready the first of May.      PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 28, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Millie is an 8 year old Aussie looking for a home without small children. She is currently boarding with a trainer. The Good: Millie has good obedience skills and is a pro at fun tricks. She has an incredible food and toy drive and would be a lot of fun in agility, nose work, etc. She is very sweet and affectionate once she forms a bond with you, which only takes a few minutes if you bring food or toys. She loves water and her perfect home would take her swimming-pools, rivers, lakes, beach-she loves them all! Millie is in great health, has been part of her current family since she was a puppy, and is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. The Bad: No young children, please! Possibly older dog savvy kids would be ok. Millie had a bite history with a handler which will be fully discussed with a potential adopter (once in 8 years). Millie may exhibit stranger danger, but she's perfectly fine with appropriate introductions. She simply doesn’t appreciate being pressured by strangers but if they have food, she’ll make an exception. This is generally only an issue inside her home, but once introduced properly she’s fine. From her owners: "We've made the tough decision to find a new loving home for Millie after over 8 years of companionship. Our growing family, with a 1-year-old and another on the way, isn't compatible with Millie's needs. Both our vet and professional trainers support this decision. Our top priority is to secure the best possible environment for Millie.” **This is a courtesy posting only.  If interested in Millie, please email  foxhollowkennel@gmail.com.   ##1847581##

Story
Meet Octavia, our sweet and gentle 3.5-year-old Australian Shepherd, a survivor of an HSUS hoarding case. Octavia has mastered crate training and finds comfort in her cozy space when she needs a break. She is also fully housetrained. Octavia gets along well with her foster's kitty, displaying curiosity yet remaining calm. She enjoys the company of other dogs, especially the mellow labs in her foster home, and communicates her boundaries appropriately. However, she'd also be content as the sole pup in a loving home. While a bit shy on a leash, Octavia flourishes in a fenced yard, relishing playtime and freedom. Her ideal forever home will have a secure fence, and patient humans willing to invest in positive reinforcement training. Her gentle and sweet spirit shines through despite initial shyness once she trusts you. She is a very happy dog who, with time, is confident around people and dogs she trusts. She enjoys pets but appreciates folks who respect her cues, allowing her to initiate affection. Octavia, in general, appreciates humans willing to go at her pace. She has a lovely personality, sweet and kind but playful. We anticipate that after some time in a home where she feels safe, she may become pretty active, as she does love to run and bounce around. If you're ready to open your heart to gentle Octavia, she's prepared to bring love and joy to her forever home! Apply for Octavia at greendogsunleashed.org/adopt/ At the time you are seeing this post, this dog is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well. */*/* Young puppies will receive age-appropriate vaccines, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional puppy boosters and at 16 weeks of age, a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing and monthly heartworm preventative are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter. *****Due to the sheer number of animals and applications in our program, coupled with a limited number of volunteers, applicants MUST have patience as we process applications.   If you do not hear back from us, the animal may have been adopted.   We strive to let people know but sadly cannot offer reasons for denial beyond that.  Any harassment of our volunteers will go unanswered and we will simply block you.   Our volunteers spend their time working hard to ensure the very best for each animal.   Please remember the animal, not the applicant, is our client.*****  ##1870754##

Story
Meet Wiley, our gentle 60 lb Aussie Lab cross! Wiley is a resilient pup who has overcome his rough start in life as part of the crew from a HSUS hoarding case of over 100 dogs. Due to his previous negative experiences with humans, Wiley is a bit shy and is seeking empathetic and patient individuals to welcome him into their hearts and homes. In his foster home, Wiley has shown excellent house manners. He happily engages in independent play, chews only on appropriate toys, and willingly retreats to his crate when it's time for a nap or bedtime. While he's still working on being confined in his crate with the door closed, Wiley is content to spend time there with the door open. Wiley gets along well with other dogs and loves to frolic and play with them in the yard. He's currently learning to feel comfortable on a leash, so a fenced yard would be ideal for him at this time. Though Wiley hasn't been with us for long, he's already begun to relax and trust his foster family. He takes cues from the other pups in the home and approaches his humans for affection when they are receiving pets. He's a happy, loving boy who simply needs to move at his own pace. If you're ready to be Wiley's compassionate guide to understanding the true meaning of family and provide him with the loving home he deserves, apply to adopt him today at greendogsunleashed.org/adopt. Meet Murphy, our adorable little Border Collie Mix boy puppy who was rescued from a small town shelter where he was under weight and riddled with internal parasites.  His future was very bleak but now Murphy has been treated and is a healthy, happy little guy free of parasites and gaining weight like a puppy should.  Born around November 1st, he is approximately 10 weeks old (as of Jan 5th) and weighs 12 pounds.  He is expected to reach around 40 pounds as an adult.  He is friendly with all humans (toddlers included), dogs and cats that he has been in contact with.  Murphy is curious, playful and very loveable and is quite the talker.  Murphy seems to be the most curious of his siblings.  His foster mom believes he is mixed with many different breeds that are smart and inquisitive.  If you are interested please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 28, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Meet Oofa, aka Goofs. Goofs is a much more appropriate name for this little guy because he has so much personality. He’s around 2 years old, neutered, crate trained and great with dogs. He has yet to meet a dog he doesn’t become fast friends with. Male, female, big, small, doesn’t matter. He’ll wrestle with them all. Cats, no. He’ll wrestle a cat a little too hard. Goofs loves his people and is very cuddly and social. He loves to grab a ball and chomp on it near you and growl. He’s very particular with people and is not a social dog outside the house. He growls at strangers and will nip if not introduced properly. Therefore, a house with few people and even fewer guests is best. If Goofs had his way, he would love to live on a farm or hobby with sheep. Herding days are the best days ever and great for mental exercise with him. He loves to herd and right now is learning how to do so and be a gentleman about it. He doesn’t quite give space like he should and still nips occasionally but is progressing after just a few lessons. A person that will continue this with him will get the highest priority for adoption. Overall, he’s an extremely fun guy but he needs to find the right people. You will need to have experience with behavior and be willing to work with a trainer on his stranger danger and confidence in public. Small children will not be good for him. He will also require a fence as he has extremely high prey drive and if he sees something he’s gone. Goofs is being fostered in Newport News VA. If you would like more information on Goofs you can email mcclellanka@gmail.com
