Story
Their names all begin with A.  Add + to that A, and you have this litter of Heeler mixes!  Names?  Well, let’s see.  There’s Aidan, the only boy, and the girls’ names are Adrian, Amara, Aria, and Adalena, all good looking in their short coats of various colors and their short legs to match!  Between 3 and 4 months old, they all weigh in the 20 lb. range, but they’ll be about 50 pounds when mature.  These babies have great temperaments.  They love playing with other dogs, kids, and their foster mom’s cat, too!  What does their report card say?  A+ of course!  (posted 6/25/23, TN)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $375 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  October 1, 2023, 11:48 am

Story
Where to begin with the story of Indy? It all began when she was hit by a car and was left on the side of the road in South Texas. For four days Indy was stuck in the grass with the sun beating down on her and an inability to escape. She pulled herself a short distance and found a bit of shade at some point. We know this because the person who witnessed her being hit by a car went back daily with food and water. They posted about it on social media, where a woman went to grab her to bring her home and find rescue. Indy was paralyzed and there was no one that could help her. She was thrown in someone's backyard as they waited for help. We agreed to pay for ER bills only to get her immediate pain relief, but stated we did not have any foster homes available. Indy then nipped a technician at the ER as they picked her up to get her weight, despite being informed she was scared and nippy. She was placed on an immediate rabies quarantine and ACO officers came to collect her to take to the shelter, where she would be euthanized for medical reasons. We put up a huge fight and that is when she ultimately became our dog, the only way to keep her alive. For 10 days she sat at the vet with a muzzle, being syringe fed. This was obviously more stress inducing and traumatizing. We were fortunate to find a temporary foster, where she made great strides. The vets told us she had a 0% chance of ever walking again and that she would be permanently paralyzed. Indy quickly showed that wasn't true and today she has very minimal limitations in regard to her mobility, but her fear of humans runs deep. We are desperate to find someone who is willing to gain her trust and show her the kindness of humans that she never had the luxury of knowing.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  If you are an approved adopter and are interested in this dog, please let your case worker know. Story
Our big orange ball comes complete with it's 7 year old Aussie mix named Reece. Reecie is a very happy go lucky girl who is housebroken, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and addicted to fetching her big orange ball. She will play for hours and hours with it (or any ball). Reece does have a rear limp which our veterinarian has diagnosed as a dislocated hip - the result of an old injury - which is now healed and best left alone now. It does NOT slow her down or impair her mobility in any way. You would not be sorry - this girl is really special. If you would like to offer her a forever home, please submit an application which you can find on our website (www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org)

Story
Hi, I'm Rosie! I am a sweet girl who loves to run and play. I would love to go on hikes, too! I am crate trained and housebroken. I sleep in a dog bed at night and do great riding in cars. I'd prefer to be the only dog in a home so I can get the attention I deserve. I would also do better with older kids. I am currently being fostered in the Pittsburgh, PA area but can be transported to an approved foster or adopter. I hope to meet you soon!

Story
Tia is a super sweet 1 1/2 yr old, 50 lb, spayed female cattle dog mix. Her father was pure cattle dog and mother was Doberman, German Shepherd and Lab. She was the last pup from an "oops litter" who I took from a coworker. She is very friendly and playful. Active but not hyper. She would make an excellent sport dog. She is learning to fetch, loves to play with a frisbee (still learning how to catch it) very handler oriented and smart! She has a great nose and would excel at tracking, barn hunt, or nose work. She also has a high prey drive and would enjoy fast cat and/or lure coursing. Her previous owner said she liked to swim and with her toy drive she would also be a good candidate for dock diving. She was not socialized much as a pup so learned how to meet and interact with other dogs once I got her. She is playful and would probably be too playful for a small or older dog. She does well with dog savvy cats (would probably chase those that run.) She walks well on a leash and is clean in a kennel. Tia does not have to be a sport dog but needs more than just a "pet" home. She would not be happy staying in the house or fenced in backyard all day. She needs daily exercise and would make a great companion for an avid runner, hiker, or biker and someone that likes to teach their dog tricks, etc. She is very smart and needs both physical and mental stimulation. Cattle dog and/or German shepherd experience is required. (Australian Kelpie or Belgian Malinois experience would work too.) Completion of basic obedience class will be required. Please email us at fureverloverescue@yahoo.com if you are interested in meeting this sweet girl!

Story
We have 2 distinguished young ladies available for immediate adoption. Tillie is 7-8 months old, she is spayed and current on vaccines. Housebroken and good with dogs able to play with her. She has some herding instinct and will need an adopter willing to do some more continuous education as she is still young. She should mature approximately 40 lbs. Bea is around a year old and 30 lbs. she is from a hoarding situation and wasn’t handled at all so she needs a calm adopter willing to work and gain her confidence and provide a home environment that supports her feeling secure. Bea is cat safe. Both girls would do best with a fenced in yard and another dog to play with. They are in Warrenton VA and approved applications are able to meet anytime

Story
Our pets are fostered and physically located in NC until adopted. Once adopted we can deliver to your location or one of our north eastern delivery locations. We have a transporter who delivers north ever other week. Aggie came from a local shelter along with her pups. Aggie was surrendered because she was VERY PROTECTIVE over her puppies. The former owner had a small child in the home and she was concerned about her toddler's well being. Aggie had always been perfect with her family until her pups were born. Being a protective first time mom is ONLY NATURAL and to be expected, The shelter knew my love for heelers and they knew I would be patient with her. I have handled Aggie extensively and she is a good girl. She would be better with women verses men. She is good with other dogs and I think she would be great on a working farm. That is where she came from, a working farm. She would be best with an active person and she would not do well cooped up in a small apartment all day. SHE IS A WORKING DOG. She is crate trained. She will go to her new home current on vaccines, heartworm tested(neg), current on preventives, deworming and microchipped. She will be spayed. She will receive a complete physical and a certificate of health issued by my vet prior to going home. The adopter will get all her health records with adoption. We require a pre screen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
A handsome fellow Ryder is a 5-year-old Aussie Shepherd mix weighing 40 pounds.  He wears a long, exquisite coat of salt and pepper with a white-tipped tail.  Ryder is a love bug who enjoys playing with other dogs and is good with cats, too.  He’s great on a leash and is ready for his forever home! Every so often you’ll see him tapping one of his front paws as he waits for you to come for him. After all, he’s been waiting for a while.  How about it? Story
A 3-year-old mix of Australian Shepherd and Collie, Mable is a girl who would make a great family pet. She presently weighs 37 pounds but will fill out a wee bit more with time.  Her tricolor coat is long and will need periodic brushing to maintain its lush softness. Her eyes are loving and soulful, reflecting her yearning for a home.  A sweet girl, she is great with other dogs, walks well on a leash, and knows “sit,” “come”, and “let’s go.” She also loves car rides and, by the way, she’s house trained!  Having finished with treatment for heartworms, all she needs to love is YOU!  What a great girl!   A real family dog!
